Hi everyone! A very happy Friday to you all! I’m posting today on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Color Layering Water Lilies stamp setHero Arts Color Layering Water Lilies Frame CutsVersamark and Hero Arts Detail Black Embossing Powder. I created a pretty CAS friendship card with a circular aperture cut in the front flap of the card base. I’m really loving my clean and simple creations these days, lol!

Before I get to my project details, I want to mention that quite a few of the Hero Arts color layering stamp sets have sold out recently in the a2z Scrapbooking store and unfortunately this was one of them. I work ahead and had this card made prior to this stamp set selling out, but I have good news – you can special order it at no extra cost when you order your other Hero Arts stamps from a2Z Scrapbooking!

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this card. It’s been quite a while since I’ve created a card with an aperture and I totally envisioned this gorgeous water lily and some lily pads peeking out of the opening, so that’s exactly where I went with my design.

I stamped the water lily in shades of pink/pinkish-red and several lily pads in shades of green, and cut them all out with the coordinating frame cuts dies. I cut a scalloped frame from gingham paper to go around the outside of the opening matching the colors of ink used to stamp the water lily.

I adhered several lily pads beneath the water lily (which I popped up on foam pads) inside the opening, along with several sequins, and a couple lily pads on the front. I heat embossed the sentiment in black embossing powder.

Here is a shot of the inside of the card after all the elements were adhered.

And one final shot showing the little bit of dimension beneath the water lily. I sure love how this turned out! ;)
