Watercolor thanks

Hi everyone! I’m back with another project this morning… you know how it is on the first of the month, lol! A new challenge has launched this morning over at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #6 – Anything Goes + Watercoloring! Remember, the technique twist is optional and not required to play in our challenges! I created a bright thanks card using the Rubbernecker Bouquet stamp set and Sending You Thanks sentiment stamp. This is my first-ever project using Rubbernecker stamps and I think I’m in love, lol!

My watercoloring (using Brushos) turned out a little darker than I intended but I like it! I can see more projects using this gorgeous stamp set in my foreseeable future, lol! I cut the panel with a My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle die and splattered some revived yellow watercolor over it before adhering a Simon Says Stamp ‘thanks’ die cut in three stacked layers.

I also die cut a piece of white fun foam to pop up the panel when adhering it to the card base. I finished the front with a narrow strip of black along the left side the panel and few scattered sequins. When I showed my hubby the finished card, he asked if I ‘messed up’ with the yellow! LOL! He thinks he is so funny! ;)

I embellished the inside with a couple narrow strips of black cardstock and stamped the sentiment in black.

  1. What a pretty and delicate card you have made. It fits the Lemon Shortbread Monthly Challenge this fortnight. i know the colours were darker than you had planned but I think it works well. This card would certainly cheer anyone up. Thank you for taking part and best wishes in the draw. Kym (Lemon Shortbread Design Team Member).
