Let me side-track you for a moment to share my project! I created a pretty nautical-themed card using the Seaside stamp set, Seaside Sentiments stamp set and Petite Banners stamp set along with the Fancy Label Dies 3.

I began by creating a card base from dark blue cardstock. I then stamped the lighthouse in Versamark on watercolor paper and embossed it in clear embossing powder. I used Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress ink and water to create the watercolor background, drying between applications for a better mix of color. I trimmed the panel and cut the embossed lighthouse out of the center with a stitched rectangle die, then adhered the large panel to ivory cardstock.

I layered the rectangle lighthouse die cut on silver mirror cardstock, then again on the dark blue cardstock that I used to create the card base. I rotated the layered die cut slightly and adhered it to the panel. I stamped the pelican and wood piling in Rich Cocoa ink and the sentiment in Tuxedo Black on ivory cardstock. I colored the pelican and wood piling with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them, and then cut the sentiment with the coordinating die. I wrapped twine around the panel twice and tied it in a knot. I adhered the pelican and wood piling in the lower left corner, and then adhered the sentiment diagonally on the tilted die cut. I adhered the panel to the card base and then added several blue Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish the front.

I decorated the inside ivory panel with left over strips of the watercolor background and dark blue cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink, layered it on dark blue cardstock and then adhered the panel to the card base.

Crazy cat lady and crafting junkie! We have 10 feline rescues. I’m addicted to stamping and love making cards, ATCs, and 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, paper purses and mini albums). I also dabble in mixed media, art journaling, altered art and custom jewelry. If you’re looking for me, I’ll either be in my studio or getting some kitty lovins! ;)

  1. Love this. I like how you tilted the main image and added the pelican. I also like the watercolored background.
