Santa is watching

Hi everyone! I’ve popped in today to post a fun card I created for the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop! This is Day 1 of the Hop, so if you’re a fellow crazy cat person, be sure to come on over and play – Janis has been working hard getting tons of sponsors so that means there are tons of prizes to be won!

I created a somewhat CAS card featuring a mischievous feline playing with a ball of yarn. This guy is from the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Cats stamp set, cut with coordinating die and colored with Studio 71 alcohol markers.

I used a Tim Holtz mixed media die in the lower left corner backed with red foil (DCWV Washi Tape Basics). OMGoodness, foil is SO hard to photograph! I even went outside because I’ve had better luck in the past taking pics of foil outside, but it’s been so windy over the past couple days that I wasn’t able to do it.

I kept the inside simple with a couple strips of the red foil at the top and a stamped sentiment.

And here’s one more look… I’m really happy with how this turned out and it’s in my pile of Christmas cards that’ll be mailed out on December 1st! It’s coming fast! ;)

Crazy cat lady and crafting junkie! We have 10 feline rescues. I’m addicted to stamping and love making cards, ATCs, and 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, paper purses and mini albums). I also dabble in mixed media, art journaling, altered art and custom jewelry. If you’re looking for me, I’ll either be in my studio or getting some kitty lovins! ;)

  3. That last photo showed the red foil beautifully – love the shine! It’s such
a fun card with that sentiment and the look on kitty’s face. hehe (I just so
happen to have the same die cut on my desk now – ready to be put together
with a different kitty/coffee stamp for the upcoming CLBH!).

  4. Gorgeous – I do love those crazy Cats, can’t think why I don’t have them in my collection. That foil looks stunning even if it was a struggle to photograph

  6. I love the posture of that kitty. Mine always get all scrunched up and hunched up when they are playing, too. It’s so funny to see them all contorted!! Ha. What a great sentiment to go with this mischievous kitty, too. I predict coal for the cat’s stocking this Christmas!
Hey, I have that TH MM Corner Die set, too, but hardly ever get it out to play. I love it with the red foil underneath. (Yes…sooooooo hard to photograph, but you managed it well!!) You have inspired me to grab that set and use it more often!!
Thank you for playing along in the #2019CatLoversHop!!

  8. Leslie, this has to be one of the silliest cat images ever and I LOVE IT! Great card design. I just finished reading all about all your feline fur babies and they are all delightful, each in their own way. Fabulous photographs! It’s great to see so many of us doing the Cat Lovers Hop. 😀
