Steampunk

Hi everybody! I’m back again today to share another sample I created for the Prickley Pear Stamps Hochanda showcase! As I was watching the show, I took a screenshot of each project while Alex was holding them up for the viewers to see, so I’ll be sharing those in my posts. I have to admit, I love seeing my cards on TV, lol! ;)

I created this card in a brown, teal and navy blue color combo which screamed ‘steampunk’ to me. I don’t do a whole lot of steampunk crafting so I’m not really sure if there are any particular color combinations to use.

I used the very cool Steampunk Gears, Gears 2 and Steampunk Gears 3 clear stamp sets as well as the Steampunk Gears die set, and did a little masking which is always fun.

I die cut a bunch of gears and stacked them for some awesome dimension in the lower left corner. I attached the layers with small navy blue brads, and then layered the panel on navy blue cardstock.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the trimmed stamped panel on the front which I complimented with brown and navy cardstock strips. I stamped the sentiment and cut it with a stitched rectangle die, and layered the panel on blue cardstock.

And one more peek… loving how this turned out despite the fact that I’m truly a steampunk novice, lol! ;)

  1. Another fantastic card! Love those diamond shapes and great masking job! About “Steampunk colors”? Well, go over to this challenge blog: https://sandee-and-amelie.blogspot.com/ This is the most legitimate place I’ve found, in as far as the players in their challenges are big time talented steampunk artists. And it’s apparently, brown + any other color. But brown has to be in there and dominantly. Other than that, any. And you know me, if I want to use purple instead of brown, I do it! HA! heehee XXO
