Sending Snowflake Kisses

3/31/22 Top Pick at Crafting Happiness Challenges!

Hi friends! Happy Happy Monday! I had another post scheduled for this morning and rescheduled it so I could share another card with an alcohol pearls on acetate background! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! OMGoodness, I’m obsessed with alcohol pearls! I’ve asked before if there’s a 12-step program for my Scan N Cut, and now I ask if there’s one for alcohol pearls! Bahahahaha! They are addictive, for sure! And like regular alcohol inks, no two ever turn out the same – and these have such a gorgeous metallic sheen to them!

I started by creating a background panel on acetate. I dropped Ranger Divine and Opulent Alcohol Pearls onto the acetate and pounced a Ranger Alcohol Ink Applicator Tool with Felt to distribute the alcohol pearls, then trimmed the panel. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock along with a border using the Paper Rose Snowflake Border Die. This die, too, was actually created to cut directly into the card base (just like the Paper Rose Gum Leaf Border Die I used last week) so I tweaked it a bit and created a separate panel that I adhered my alcohol pearl background beneath, then to metallic silver foil, and then to the front of the card base on double-sided adhesive foam strips. Using my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil SystemSpellbinders Glimmer Silver Foil, and Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Mini Christmas Sentiment Strips Plate and Die Set, I created a sentiment strip on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock which I trimmed and adhered across the bottom of the card front on a double-sided adhesive foam strip. I added medium sized iridescent gemstones to the center of three of the snowflakes on the left side as well as three tiny ones on the right side.

Here’s a close-up of the panel which, when layered on silver metallic foil cardstock, really shows the sheen. I so love this!

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and embellished it with a wide strip of the silver metallic foil cardstock and a narrow strip of CutCardStock Basis Blue cardstock. I added another foiled sentiment and layered the panel on the blue cardstock.

And one more peek… so loving how this turned out! And yes, you all know that I’m one of those who creates Christmas cards all year long! I couldn’t wait to share this one! ;)
