Merry Christmas

Hey everybody! A big ol’ Happy Tuesday to you! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super easy mistletoe Christmas card. Seriously, y’all, this is probably one of the quickest cards I’ve ever made. I recently won a very cool 3D embossing folder and two sets of dies in an Instagram giveaway, and this card features the embossing folder and one of the sets of dies. For my cardstock, I used Jupiter, Fairway and Eris (all from the Stardream Metallic line) along with Scottish Highlands Green, Habanero Red and Solar White. Although I’m a huge fan of non-traditional colors, nothing shouts ‘Christmas’ like traditional red, white and green!

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from Stardream Metallic Jupiter cardstock. I spritzed the shimmery red panel with water using my Ranger Distress Sprayer, placed it in the Sizzix Leaf Pattern Textured Impressions 3D Embossing Folder, and ran it through the Big Shot. OMG, look at that embossed detail!

I die cut all the pieces for the focal image using the Sizzix Mistletoe Leaves Thinlits – the bow from Stardream Metallic Eris, the mistletoe leaves from Stardream Metallic Fairway and Scottish Highlands Green, and the berries from Habanero Red. I stamped the sentiment from the Waffle Flower Inside Christmas Sentiments stamp set in Memento Olive Grove ink and cut it with a Keep It Simple Stitched Ovals Nested Die. The finishing touch was adding a few iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of the Habanero Red and Scottish Highlands Green cardstock used on the front as well as a couple extra mistletoe berries. I stamped another sentiment from the Waffle Flower Christmas Sentiments stamp set in Memento Olive Grove ink, and this completed the card.
