Meowy Christmas

Hey everybody! It’s Hump Day and I hope your week is going great! It’s turning out to be a busy morning on my blog – I’ve posted a couple design team projects and now I’m back with another post just for fun! You all know that Ed and I are ‘crazy cat people’ and you may remember me participating in the last four Cat Lovers Hops organized by my friend, Janis Woolbright. Sadly, Janis passed away on January 6th of this year (which is also my dad’s birthday) and one of her friends is organizing the 2023 Cat Lovers Christmas Challenge in her honor! How cool is that?! I didn’t know about it until Jo commented on one of my projects several days ago. I’ve been busy with design team work but was able to squeeze in a cat-themed Christmas card to enter into the challenge. There is a limit of six projects over the entire month of October, so I think I’ll be able to make five more! I’m very touched to have been invited to participate! Janis was a wonderful person and is missed by many. <3

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding bi-level card base (front flap shorter than the back flap, either horizontally or vertically) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and ran the short flap through my Big Shot with a Paper Smooches Stitched Borders die. I grabbed my American Crafts Christmas Holiday Prints and Christmas Prints 6×6 paper pads and cut a side panel and several flags which I created with the Stampin’ Up Banner Triple Punch.

I adhered the flags to the card front along with a sparkly black cat die cut in my stash (I don’t remember where it came from) and an Eyelet Outlet Santa Hat Brad. I stamped the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and added several clear gemstones which completed the card front.

I stamped the inside sentiment from the same Simon Says Stamp stamp set, and the card was complete! Super easy design that would be really easy to mass produce for everybody on your Christmas list! And this particular card is in honor of our dear friend, Janis, so that makes it even more special!

Hi friends! I’ve popped in to share another sample I created for Prickley Pear Stamps! I’m having the best time playing with these amazing stamps and dies, and I have several samples to share in between the Hochanda samples. This is an adorable center panel easel card featuring the Build A Cat 2 clear stamp set and the coordinating Build A Cat die set. We are ‘crazy cat people’ so any opportunity I get to create a cat card, especially a Christmas cat card, I’m on it!

I’ve had the instructions for this center panel easel card in my tutorial folder for quite some time and I’ve made a few of them over the years. I paired plaid and glitter papers from a fun 6×6 Christmas paper pad with some matching green cardstock. I colored the kitty’s bows green to match the card and I used a rather lonely border die in my stash that doesn’t get much use to create the glittery rick-rack die cuts on the sides, and a couple circle punches for the stamped sentiment.

Here’s an angled view so you can see the simple but cool construction. ;)

And one more peek… lying flat and ready to stuff into an envelope. Loving how this turned out!

Meowy Christmas

Hi everyone! Well, we’re beginning the month of July. Can you believe it?! A new challenge has launched this morning over at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project with you for MLCCB #12 – July Anything Christmas Goes! I sure do love fun folds and I finally got around to trying a book fold. I’ve had the instructions printed in my tutorial folder for quite some time which I believe I got out of a Splitcoast Stampers newsletter. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! ;)

2019_06230017a

I used the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Cats stamps and die set that I’ve had in my stash for a couple years and have never used. Not sure how that happened, lol! I kept with the traditional red and green Christmas colors. I stamped all the images and sentiments from the set in black ink on ivory cardstock and then colored the images with my Studio 71 alcohol markers.

I arranged the colored images and sentiments on the front and the inside ‘book.’

Here’s an overhead view of the construction. Really loving how this turned out. I see more of these in my future, lol!

Meowy Christmas

Hi everyone! Well, it’s November 1st and that means a few posts from me this morning, lol! I’m guest designing again this month over at Your Scrapbook Place and I’m stoked to share my GD inspiration project for the November Anything Goes challenge going live this morning! I created a fun sparkly meowy Christmas card! Hubby and I are ‘crazy cat people’ and this image is one of my favorites from The East Wind which is this month’s sponsor! Come on over and play with us!

I used my favorite stitched dies and angled the die cuts. I attached the focal image with tiny staples and added some Dot Sparklers in each corner.

I pulled out the fun Snow Marker for the pom-poms on his collar which added some great dimension!

I had the purrfect stamp set in my stash to go with this image, so I put it to good use, lol! Love how this turned out!
