A Bright and Happy Christmas

Hello, my crafty friends! Woo-hoo, it’s December 1st and not much longer before the jolly round man will be making his appearance! A new challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #128 – Christmas Bingo! Here’s how to play – choose any letter in the word BINGO on our Bingo card below and use at least three of the items in that column on your Christmas project!

Christmas-Bingo

We’re being sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter so come on over and play for a chance to win a prize! I created a fun tri-fold Christmas card using the most adorable Are You Ready My Friend digital stamp! I chose the letter B on the Bingo card and used the first four items in that column on my card – red, gold, die cut and green.

Isn’t this image just the cutest?! I cut it with a square die and then layered it on a fancy gold mirror die cut. I added crystal clear sparkle overlay marker to the fur on Santa’s hat and coat, then added Glossy Accents to Rudolph’s nose and set the piece aside. I cut red striped and red dotted panels for the front and layered them on kraft brown bag paper, and adhered them to the card base. I adhered the focal image to the left flap and added red gumdrops and a bow.

Leslie

I stamped Christmas sentiments on the three inside panels, layered them on red cardstock and then adhered them to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… I’m super happy with how this turned out!

12/1/19 Top 3 at Color It Create It Show It Off!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday and Happy November 1st! Can you believe it?! This year is just a blur, lol! Our November challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #127 – Anything Goes! We are being sponsored this month by DRS Designs so come on over and play for a chance to win a prize! I played with Seashell Christmas Tree and created a Christmas card in non-traditional colors to add to my stack of cards to be mailed out on December 1st! It sure is coming fast!

2019_1021001a

After coloring the image with Prismacolor pencils and adding touches of gold to all the seashells, I trimmed the image to fit inside a gold metallic stitched rectangle die cut. I added white foam to the back of the panel and adhered it to the card base. I cut the ‘merry’ sentiment from the gold metallic cardstock and adhered it at an angle over the tree.

2019_1021002a

I stamped a beach-themed sentiment on the inside panel and embellished it with a leftover strip of the gold metallic cardstock used on the front along with a strip of pink cardstock. I then layered the panel on the pink cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card base.

Here’s one more look… I’m so pleased with how this turned out and I hope the recipient likes it as much as I do! ;)

polkadot flower gift bags

Hi, friends! Happy Tuesday – hope your week is off to a tremendously fabulous start! Our October challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #126 – No Cards Allowed! This month we’d love to see your project that is NOT a card! We are being sponsored this month by Bugaboo Digi Stamps so be sure to come over and play for a chance to win a prize! I created a pair of super cute little gift bags using several papers in Bugaboo’s polkadot flowers digi papers collection.

2019_09030018aa

I cut tags from coordinating papers and tied a length of quilting thread to each in order to wrap around the handle to close the bag. I also adhered a flower to each tag.

I’m absolutely tickled with how these little gift bags turned out and can’t wait to ‘find’ something to tuck inside so I can gift them!

Santa Claus is coming to town

Hello, crafty friends! Happy Sunday – here’s wishing you a fabulous start to your week! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #125 – Anything Goes! Our fabulous sponsor this month is CAS-ual Fridays Stamps so be sure to come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! I created a super cute Christmas card using the Naughty or Nice stamp set, which sadly I don’t see on the website at this writing, however, I do see Naughty-isms which is similar and equally as fun!

Leslie

You know I absolutely love fun folds, and about three years ago I came up with a combined Joy fold and Z fold, which I called a Joy-Z fold. I haven’t seen another one like this, so I think it’s safe to say this is my own design, lol! If you’re interested, my original card is HERE. This Christmas version is a vertical orientation, done in the traditional red and green color combo, with added bling and a Santa sticker.

2019_0810002a

Here’s a shot of the Joy fold portion open to reveal the sentiments. Love, love, love! Needless to say, I chuckled a few times while this was in the making! ;)

2019_0810003a

And here’s a side view so you can see the construction. It really is a cool fold! ;)

And one more look up close. I already have the recipient in mind and I know they are going to love it! ;)

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday and August 1st! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #124 – Shape Shift! We’d love to see your shaped project! We’re being sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter so come on over and play for your chance to win a prize! I used the amazing Vintage Tea Cups image and paper for my birthday card, as well as a pretty shaped card die set.

2018_11250001a

I printed the background paper and die cut the layer to go on top of a cardstock layer, and then adhered the panel to the front of the card base. I printed the tea cups several times, fussy cut two and layered them together, reserving the last two for the butterfly, rose and leaf (fussy-cut partial images layered on whole images for dimension). I used some wire for the butterfly antennae. I embellished the cups with sparkle overlay marker and white Gelly Roll pen to give them a slightly more vintage-y look. I printed digital alphabet letters on vellum for the sentiment and adhered the strip across the bottom.

2018_11250002a

I printed the inside sentiment on the computer and die cut the layer to go on top of a cardstock layer, just as I did on the front, and then adhered the panel to the inside of the shaped card base.

2018_11250003a

And one more look from an angle so you can see the dimension. This really is a beautiful card in real life. The colors are so vibrant – love The Paper Shelter images and papers!

Happy New Home

Hi everyone! Another Happy Monday to you – hope your week will be off to a good start! A new challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #123 – Anything Goes! Our sponsor this month is DRS Designs, so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize!

I created a ‘new home’ card and used the simply adorable Single Birdhouse stamp for my project. Many of you know that my husband and I sold our home in early May and have been living in our fifth wheel waiting to close on another home 95 miles northwest of where we were living. The sale of that home went without a hitch. However, nothing has been on schedule with the purchase of the new home and we are now approaching three months since we went under contract. My heart was really in this card because we are yearning so badly to get into the new home, lol! But there is light at the end of the tunnel… looks like we may finally be closing soon!

Leslie

I chose a couple coordinating papers for the background and colored the image with matching alcohol markers. I attempted to make it look a little weathered. ;)

2019_0625002a

I adhered the left and right panels to foam for a little dimension, leaving the birdhouse image flat on the card base. I bridged the sentiment onto the panels across the bottom of the image, and added some tiny clear rhinestones to the flowers on the left-hand panel.

2019_0625003a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper used on the front. The front and inside sentiments are from my digital stash.

2019_0625004a

One more look… so happy with how this turned out! I love that image! ;)

Papercraft

for a purr-fect friend

Hi everyone! Happy Saturday – hope you have a fun weekend planned! The June challenge is live over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog this morning and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #122 – No Rulz 3! This is the third in our series of challenges with absolutely NO RULES! Yep, that means you can create whatever you’d like without regard to our rules… the only thing we ask is that it’s decent, as we are a family-oriented blog. And our sponsor this month is Bugaboo – you know you love some Bugaboo, so come on over and play!

I created an adorable birthday card using the Bugaboo Cat Silhouette digital image. What a fun image to work with – the sky is the limit with this one! I printed the image in black on ivory cardstock, cut it down to fit behind the punched circle opening, and then cut out only the tail to allow it to hang outside the circle opening.

2019_0527001a - Copy

I attached two pieces of coordinating cardstock from a relatively new pad that I’m in love with, and layered the panel on black cardstock. I used two circle punches for a little interest, along with some tiny brads and punched hearts.

2019_0527002a - Copy

I created the front and inside sentiments on the computer, and layered the inside sentiment on black cardstock. I embellished the panel with a couple tiny punched hearts.

2019_0527003a

And one more look… I totally love how this turned out! I’m always needing birthday cards for my stash!
