happy birthday to you

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! We’re another day closer to Friday so that’s a big YAY for all my working friends! I’m back this morning with another Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen DT inspiration project featuring some gorgeous patterned papers and die cuts! AND a fabulous fun fold called a reverse easel card! I’ve had these instructions in my tutorial folder for quite some time and have never made one so I thought it was time to try it out! I love how it turned out!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis 80# White 12×12 cardstock along with embellishing panels from Craft Consortium Ink Drops-Vivid 6×6 paper pad. I used the My Favorite Things Double Stitched Square STAX to die cut two squares which I layered on slightly larger squares cut from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Gold Leaf cardstock.

I used the My Favorite Things Stitched Pinking Edge Square STAX to cut panels from a pretty butterfly print in the Kraft & Creativity Showering Nature 12×12 paper pack. I fussy cut a butterfly and adhered it to a Basis White cardstock scrap for stability, and adhered it to the base for an easel stop. I added the sentiment die cut from Gold Leaf cardstock using the My Favorite Things Swirly Birthday die. The finishing touch was adding several YNS Purple Glitter Gumdrops.

Hi everyone! Can’t you believe it’s the last flippin’ day of June already?! The year is half over and it’ll be Christmas before we know it! :D I have a super adorable Tape Runner DT inspiration project to share with you today…. a clean and simple child birthday card featuring the Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh stamps and dies, and of course, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. I donated this one to Cards for Cubs. ;)

As mentioned above, all panels were adhered with Retractable Tape Runner. Wet glue was used only to adhere small elements. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis 110# White cardstock along with a layering panel from The Paper Cut blue crinkle paper. I used the My Favorite Things Slimline Ocean Motion die to cut the top off the blue crinkle paper layer and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the shark, bubbles and small fish from the Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh stamp set in Catherine Pooler Jack Black ink, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh dies. I stamped a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday stamp set in black ink in the bottom right corner, and then adhered the die cut elements.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock and embellished it with a narrow strip of CutCardStock Basis Medium Blue cardstock and a shark fin stamped from the Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh stamp set which I colored with alcohol markers and cut with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Duh-Nuh die. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Catherine Pooler Black Jack ink and layered the panel on medium blue cardstock.

And one more look… such an adorable card created from a super simple design! And like I always say, it definitely helps to have great adhesive to hold everything together!

Hi everyone! Oh my goodness – I believe we are going to have a white Christmas out here in Colorado! The snow is SO beautiful! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring Stardream Metallic cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack – which happens to be on sale this month so be sure to get some! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a pretty fairy-themed birthday card which I know a special little girl is going to love! The funny thing is I know a few adults who love fairies too, lol!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with an inside layering panel from Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I cut layering panels and embellishing strips from Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock, Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock, Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock and Stardream Metallic Aquamarine cardstock. I adhered the Lagoon and Aquamarine strips diagonally mid-way down the Amethyst panel and then applied two strips of washi tape above and below for a little interest. I adhered the die cut sentiment to the panel, added the fairy brads and several tiny iridescent gemstones, and adhered the panel to the black layering panel and then to the card base.

I embellished the inside panel with Lagoon, Amethyst and Aquamarine strips along with a strip of washi tape. I stamped the sentiment in black ink, cut it with a stitched oval die and adhered it to the panel, then layered the entire panel on black cardstock.

And one more peek… I’m so smitten with this cardstock! It’s gorgeous! And those little fairies are pretty awesome, too! ;)

Happy Birthday to you

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! This month’s Anything Goes With Dies Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today!

I created an adorable birthday card with a layered die cut cake with lots of dimension! So fun! The image in the Spellbinders stamp and die set that I used is nice and large. I stamped it in black ink and colored it with my dying and almost dry distress markers. I got the last little bit of color from several of them and then threw the whole container in the trash. Not sure what their life span is… I believe I bought the set of 50 back in 2012 so I’ve gotten six years’ use out of them. I hope that’s a good average, lol!

I added shimmer to all the colored areas with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I then cut two background cake pieces and adhered them together, then cut all of the individual elements of the cake from textured cardstock and layered them together. I cut the candle from white cardstock and colored the flame with Spectrum Noir markers and Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I layered the panel on aqua cardstock and adhered it to the card panel, then affixed the cake which has lots of dimension. :)

For the inside, I stamped a fun ‘party’ sentiment and layered the panel on aqua cardstock.

And here’s one more look… sure do love how this turned out! I’m sure I’ll be using this stamp and die set more in the future! Totally adorable!
