Hi everyone! I hope your February is off to a great start! We sure are loving life… since moving to Colorado last May, we’ve finally found our dream home and will be closing on it in a few weeks! Grinning from ear to ear here, lol! The Blank Page Muse February challenge, Blue Heart & Time, is going live tomorrow and I’m stoked to share my Inspiration Team project! I created a very cool mixed media note card that could be used for just about any occasion.
I started by completely spraying a long narrow piece of white cardstock with blue India ink and then spritzing the center of a quarter sheet of cardstock with the same ink and a little water for a more muted effect.
When dry, I stamped the largest heart from the Hearty Doodles Stamp Set three times on the cardstock I sprayed with blue ink.
Then the fun began… I stamped the Clock with Crown on the background, along with some of the hexagon shapes from the Hearty Doodles Stamp Set, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I inked the edges of the background with black distress ink. fussy cut the blue hearts and layered them on top of each other, and wrapped some black memory thread around them. I tied three white flowers together with black thread.
I stamped A clockwork heart cannot replace the real thing phrase on a piece of scrap cardstock and tore all the edges which I inked with the black distress ink. I went back and spritzed a little more ink over the background (to make the color a little more vivid) before adhering the panel to black glitter cardstock. I then added the sentiment, white satin ribbon flowers, layered hearts and a small bow. The final touch was several dots of Ebony Black Crystal Drops.
I left the inside blank to write a custom message. I embellished the white panel with a leftover piece of the black glitter paper and then layered the panel on black cardstock.
And here’s one final photo showing the dimension. Very pleased with how this turned out! :)
