Hi friends! Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a fabulous week and you have something fun planned this weekend! Today is Day 5 of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop and I have one last project to share! I created an adorable cat and dog friendship mini slimline card. I am loving clean and simple more and more every day. I used to be so intimidated by CAS and used tons of layers, but no more! And I’m not sure what has overcome me but I just can’t get enough of the mini slims! They are so stinkin’ cute and so fun to create! I’m loving the 3-1/2″ x 6″ size because they are legal to mail at the post office whereas the 3″ x 6″ size is not. And I used my new Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set to cut the layers for this one! Makes these mini slimlines so easy to create! ;)

I cut a mini slimline card base from CutCardStock Basis White cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Basis Light Brown cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set and a strip of patterned paper from the Crafter’s Companion Just For Men Urban Collection for the bottom of the panel. I added narrow light brown and white strips to the top of the patterned paper panel for a little interest. I stamped a sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Blobby Flowers stamp set in the lower right corner in brown ink. Using the Impression Obsession Mini Critters die set, I die cut the cat and dog from white cardstock and colored them with alcohol markers, and added them to the card front. The finishing touch was adding several brown enamel dots.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis White cardstock along with a slightly larger panel from CutCardStock Basis Light Brown cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers die set. I embellished the white panel with a strip of patterned paper from the Crafter’s Companion Just For Men Urban Collection that I used on the front and a narrow strip of the light brown cardstock, stamped the sentiment from the Prickley Pear Stamps Blobby Flowers 2 stamp set in brown ink, and layered the panels together.

And one more peek… this card turned out so cute! I love the cat and dog friendship theme, lol! They should be friends! ;)

Hey everybody! A big ol’ Happy Thursday to you! Today is Day 4 of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop and I have another fun cat-themed project to share! I had THE best time creating this LOVE card that would be great for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary or just because! And don’t you just love this cat?! I chose him specifically for this card which went together seamlessly! I absolutely love it when my designs turn out exactly like I envisioned them!

I cut a standard A2 top-folding card base from CutCardStock Basis White 110# cardstock along with a layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Red cardstock and Prima Paintables Watercolor Paper (that I chose not to paint) and adhered them together. I die cut the Eiffel Tower from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock using the Hero Arts Paper Layering Eiffel Tower die and adhered it to the card front. I stamped the sentiment and the cat from The Project Bin Feline Good stamp set on CutCardStock Basis White 80# cardstock, colored the cat with alcohol markers and then cut him with the coordinating die. I trimmed the sentiment, layered it on a red cardstock scrap, and adhered the sentiment and the cat to the card front. The final touches included stamping the postmark from the Stampin’ Up Butterfly Basics stamp set, adding red jewel bling and some tiny punched red hearts to complete the front.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis White 80# cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the unpainted watercolor paper and a narrow strip of CutCardStock Basis Red cardstock, stamped the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Funny Kinda Love stamp set and layered the panel on red cardstock.

And one more look… LOL, I was cracking up the entire time it took to put this card together! The Project Bin’s Feline Good stamp set is one of my favorites and this cat paired so well with this background and the Eiffel Tower die cut!

You’re So Pawsome!

Hi friends! It’s Hump Day and it’s Day 3 of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve popped in this morning with fun cat-themed mini slim thank you card! I’ve been on a mini slimline kick lately so I created a CAS thank you card in a gray and white color combo featuring a pretty Siamese-looking kitty. I actually got a set of mini slimline layers dies a couple weeks ago but didn’t use them for this card because I rounded the bottom right corner and I just didn’t want to do that with die layers. The 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slim size is legal to mail at the post office whereas the 3″ x 6″ mini slim size is not, so I’ve been making my card bases the slightly larger width and the layer dies are not as readily found as the 3″ x 6″ size which makes no sense to me. Whoever started the 3″ x 6″ size mini slim trend didn’t do their homework, lol!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ side-folding mini slimline card base and layering panel from CutCardStock Basis White cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Basis Gray cardstock and strip from Hot Off The Press light gray gingham paper, rounding the bottom right corner of the card base and layering panels. I stamped the cat image and sentiment in light gray ink and colored the cat with a lighter gray alcohol marker. I adhered a layered strip across the top of the white panel and added gray enamel dots.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Basis White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from CutCardStock Basis Gray cardstock and light gray gingham paper, added a CRAFTplorations Just Thank You Clear Sticker sentiment and layered the panel on the gray cardstock.

And one more peek… such an adorable kitty thank you! Love the clean and simple!

Motivational Artist Trading Cube

Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s Day 2 of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve popped in this morning to share a fun cat-themed project I finished yesterday afternoon! This is the 7th year that Janis has organized this amazing Hop and it’s going on until the 30th, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! If you know me, you know that I’m a certified ATC geek and I just had to create another Artist Trading Cube to add to my growing ATC collection of cards, coins and cubes! This one features stamped cat images from a Laurel Burch mini stamp set I’ve had in my stash for a while which I colored with Karin Brush Markers. The ten stamps in this set are 3″ x 3″ which are the perfect size for a 2-1/2″ cube. Four of the ten stamps are cat images and since there are six sides to the cube, I duplicated two of the images but colored them differently. The computer-generated sentiments were left over from another project so I scooped them up to use on this cube – worked out beautifully! ;)

I cut the cube base from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock and set it aside. My template is HERE. I stamped the cat images on Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, colored them quickly with Karin Brush Markers (no blending or anything fancy) and cut them with the My Favorite Things Stitched Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics. I cut six frames from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock using the My Favorite Things Stitched Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics and My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX Die-namics which I adhered to the colored images. I adhered the images to the cube and added the computer-generated motivational sentiments, and then assembled the cube. The images adhere much better if you can press down on them while the cube base is flat versus already assembled.

So happy with how this turned out! ATCs of any sort are so much fun to create! Unfortunately, I don’t trade mine as the name suggests… I fall in love with every one I create and I want to keep them for my collection, lol! ;)

Hello Kitty

Hi friends! Happy Monday! Today is Day 1 of the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop so I’ve popped in with my first project! There are lots of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

A new fun fold called a Triple Easel Panel was featured in a recent Splitcoast Stampers newsletter HERE and I just had to try it! Yep, you know me and fun folds… I’m such a fiend! As I typically do, I put my own twist on this one to make it mine. I used the Good Meowning stamp set from The Cat’s Pajamas, along with their Grassy Patches die set for the focal images on the front, and the Feline Good stamp set from The Project Bin for the inside sentiment. This was definitely a fun one that I’ll be making again!

I stamped the cats on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. I cut the card base and separate easel strips from CutCardStock Basis Teal cardstock, along with inside layers from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Aqua cardstock, and the triangular layers from October Afternoon Campfire patterned paper. I adhered the layers and elements on each easel as I went, popping the sentiments up on strips of acetate. I stamped the inside sentiment on a strip of ivory and adhered it across the center.

And one more look…. folded flat for mailing. So stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it! LOVE this fold and these stamp sets!

2021 Cat Lovers Hop!

Hi everybody! That time is here… time for the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden!

The Hop will go on October 25-30 and it’ll be my third year participating! Had a great time last year and the year before! Be sure you visit Her Peaceful Garden to read all the details and join in! If you’re a cat lover, you’ll have so much fun!

Let me side-track you for a moment to share my favorite pics of our feline tribe! My hubby and I have ten inside feline fur babies that we’re absolutely crazy about – Poopie, Molly, Walter, Jack, Tigger, Milo, Dusty, Loki, Spike and Tater! Indulge me for a moment while I share some pics, lol! I know, I’ve said it many times in the past… I’m like that little old granny who whips out the wallet and 3 feet of pictures unfolds! Bahahahaha!

Poopie (16-1/2), is the old lady who doesn’t like any of the other kitties… it’s a Manx thing! Ed got her when she was about four weeks old and she’s been by his side ever since!

Molly (7-1/2), is the mischief maker and little thief! She’s mama to Jack & Walter and I’m sure you’ll see the resemblance! Ed rescued her (along with two other females) from a job site, and when we took them to be spayed all three were pregnant, lol! We soon went from four kitties to 15! After weaning and getting them all spayed/neutered, most of the kittens were re-homed along with the other two mama kitties.

Jack (6), is our giant Blankie Bump… loves to sleep under the covers for most of the day, just like a teenager! He’s one of Molly’s boys and is a huge lovable lug!

Walter (6), is our Lil’ Panther… my sweet baby boy who loves to play laser! He’s Molly’s other son who gives finger kisses and gentle bites every now and then!

Tigger (6), is the boy who doesn’t like to be touched unless he’s laying down… and then he loves his belly rubbed! When you catch him in that mood, you better get your lovins while you can! He’s one of the kittens born to one of the other females rescued and re-homed.

Milo & Dusty (both 4-1/2), are the teenagers who are constantly running through the house playing! Or eating… they are our treat mongers! We adopted them from our local shelter shortly after we moved out to Colorado from Florida.

Loki (2-1/2) was about eight weeks old when he showed up under our neighbor’s carport in the freezing snow. He is Mr. Personality and there is never a dull moment in our house… he’s always into something! His name means ‘God of Mischief’ so it appears that his daddy named him very appropriately! ;)

Spike and Tater (14 months) are very animated… it’s like having toddlers in the house again! They constantly play and chase each other! They are a riot and so much fun! It’s amazing how much they look like Dusty and Milo! ;)

Fogg and Stormie just arrived this morning, brought to us by a cashier at our local grocery store – somebody dropped them off on her porch and of course hubby couldn’t say no. Update: Unbeknownst to us, these two babies had kitty parvo and we lost Stormie. Fogg pulled through and is doing well. <3

Hubby and I are definitely considered ‘crazy cat people!’ One not listed above is Mocha Latte who re-homed herself last year when we moved four blocks. She wanted to be back down the street with her BFF, Keech, so Keech’s owners said they would take her. We also have seven outdoor kitties – Spot, Mama, Creamsicle, Puffy, Khaki, Levi and Flutterby.
