Feel Better Soon

Hi, friends! What does the camel say?! Lol, you know that one! A new challenge is live over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #48 – July Anything Goes! Those who know me know that I REALLY love fun folds – so I created a pop-up flower pot get well card to showcase this month! I’m proud to say that this design is my own! I did attempt another pop-up flower pot card I found a tutorial on a few months back and let’s just say it didn’t go as planned, lol, so I designed a more sturdy and more simple construction.

After creating the flower pot which is a ‘box’ design that folds flat, I used two flower punches along with a leaf punch and a variety of bright-colored cardstock to create 13 flowers and leaves. There are 12 flowers for the pot and one for the belly band. I added a green Dot Sparkler to the center of each flower and arranged a panel of six flowers for each side, gluing them down as I went.

I created two gingham bases with magnets. The flower pot and sentiment are affixed to the main base which folds flat for mailing. The second base is constructed of 110# kraft cardstock and attaches to the main base to hold it open for display.

And here’s one more look with the card folded flat (held with a belly band) ready for mailing. Love how this turned out and will eventually add my template with instructions to the ‘freebies’ section on my blog!

Feel Better Soon!

4/27/20 Top Pick at The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge!

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great day and staying home and staying well! I’m (still) playing in my studio creating projects for The Outlawz Challenges! This card that I’m sharing is for the Monday Greetings Challenge and this is the first time I’ve played in this challenge. The Paper Shelter is our sponsor this month and I have several of their digi stamps in my stash, so I chose Rose to create a get well card. What a gorgeous image!

The fun thing about The Paper Shelter digis is you not only get a gorgeous image, but you get background paper too, and you can print them together or separately. I printed the image on the background paper, trimmed it and layered it, and then added some decorate corners with bling. I also added some pretty shimmer to all the butterflies.

I lightened the background paper for the the inside panel. The front and inside sentiment strips are new in my stash and I really love them. I outlined them with a metallic blue pen.

And one more peek… loving the simplicity of this card that’ll hopefully brighten someone’s day!

feel better soon

Hi everyone! Happy Monday – I hope you had a great weekend! I’m super stoked to be on the CutCardStock blog today with my first DT inspiration project for this amazing company! First order of business is to let you know that this post contains affiliate links. We were provided a Designer’s Pack that was chock full of all kinds of awesome cardstock and other goodies, so I created a cheerful ‘feel better soon’ card featuring some of the Curious Metallics cardstock. So pretty!

2020_0306009

I created an A2-sized card base from Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and rounded the right bottom corner. I cut a slightly smaller panel from green and white gingham patterned paper and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in black ink toward the top, leaving room for the flower arrangement.

I stamped the flower layers on Curious Metallic Pale Aloe 111# cardstock, Curious Metallic Pink Quartz 111# cardstock and Curious Metallic White-Silver 111# cardstock, and the leaves on Basis Green 80# cardstock, and then cut all the pieces with coordinating dies. I adhered the flower layers and leaves with Scor-Tape 1/4″ and added an iridescent gemstone to the center of each one. I arranged them on the bottom of the card front, adhering with Double-sided foam adhesive strips cut in small pieces.

I embellished the inside with leftover strips of the gingham paper and the Pink Quartz cardstock, and then stamped the sentiment in black ink.

And one more peek… loving how this card turned out! This cardstock is just amazing and I couldn’t be more proud to be on this new design team! ;)
