Hi everyone! Hope you have a great week coming up! It’s Monday the 11th already in Brisbane and this month’s ATC Challenge is live over at Happy Little Stampers! I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! The theme for our February ATC Challenge is Stencils and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month!
I created my ATC for this challenge from Chalkboard cardstock. I’ve had this in my stash for a couple years, actually, and this is the first time I’ve used it. Don’t ask me why… it’s a pretty fun product, especially with chalk markers!
I pounced white dye ink through the butterfly and ink splotch portion of the stencil and then spritzed Glimmer Mist over it to give it some gorgeous shimmery color. I applied dimensional paste with a spatula over two other areas of the stencil and let that dry.
I created the sentiment on the computer, hand-cut the words and adhered them to the left side of the ATC, then outlined them with a purple chalk marker. The finishing touch were pink and yellow dots created with chalk markers. I sprayed a matte fixative over the entire ATC so nothing would rub off.
Cardstock/Paper: Darice All Chalked Up cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Marker; Sweet Stamps White Dye Ink; Bistro Chalk Markers- Purple, Pink and Orange, Tattered Angels Dragonfly Glimmer Mist
Accessories: Kadomaru Pro Corner Rounder, The Crafter’s Workshop Mini Butterfly Collage Stencil, DecoArt Dimensional Effects, Krylon Matte Fixative
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up an ATC with us this month! We’d love to see what you create – either a card or a coin! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time! ;)
Hi everyone! It’s already Friday in Brisbane, so Happy Friday to youuuuu! I’m super stoked to share my first DT inspiration project for the Happy Little Stampers ATC Team! Yep, I joined the HLS Die team in conjunction with the ATC Team! The theme for our January ATC Challenge is Vintage and we’d love to see what you create for our challenge this month!
I’ve only created a couple ATCs (yep, two to be exact, lol) so I’m thrilled to get some more practice under my belt! These are quite small in comparison – I usually create cards – so the ‘canvas space’ has to be adjusted accordingly. I have to say they are fun despite being challenging! ;)
I cut the ATC (2.5″ x 3.5″) from 120# kraft cardstock and rounded the corners. I stamped a background over the top three-quarters with a flourish stamp in walnut stain distress ink and then stamped a dotted strip across the bottom one-quarter in gold ink which I stamped again in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then stamped little clusters of dots in picked raspberry distress ink randomly over the flourishes. I separated the stamped sections with pink and gold paper strips and added several pink Dot Sparklers to the pink strip. The little ballerina is a Tim Holtz Paperdoll, and I embellished her tutu with stamped Versamark and a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, and then set with a fixative. I heat embossed the ‘work of art’ sentiment to complete the ATC.
And here’s one final look… I’m definitely happy with how this turned out! What a fun project – I know I’m going to totally love being on this new design team! :D
