CAT-ITUDE for JessicaLynnOriginal Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends! I’ve popped in this morning, one last time as a guest designer for JessicaLynnOriginal! I’ve had a blast and her stamps are amazing! The JessicaLynnOriginal ‘Love Your Pets’ Blog Hop is winding down, today being the last day, and has raised money for Lucky Mutts Rescue. The blog hop has been open to anyone using JessicaLynnOriginal pet stamps (dogs or cats) to add their links, and for each card added, JessicaLynnOriginal has donated 50 cents to Lucky Mutts!

Still using the absolutely adorable Celine’s Kittens stamp set, I created a pair of Diagonal Fold cards as my final project for the blog hop. My inspiration came from my friend, Dawn, HERE and I chose a friendship theme for my cards. These were so easy and fun, and would be great to mass produce!

I chose a pretty blue for my card base, along with ivory and two pieces of double-sided blue patterned papers for layering. Two score lines and a few cuts later, these awesome cards were born. And this studious cat seemed to have a lot of CAT-ITUDE and soon became the focus of the belly bands on the cards. LOL! Love it!

And here are shots of the other one. I’m really loving how these turned out!

Purr More, Hiss Less for JessicaLynnOriginal Blog Hop

Hi everyone! As I mentioned last week, I’ve been asked to guest design for JessicaLynnOriginal and am so proud to be participating in the JessicaLynnOriginal ‘Love Your Pets’ Blog Hop going on April 21st through the 29th, which is raising money for Lucky Mutts Rescue. This amazing blog hop is open to anyone using JessicaLynnOriginal pet stamps (dogs or cats) to add their links, and for each card added, JessicaLynnOriginal will donate 50 cents to Lucky Mutts!

Using the absolutely adorable Celine’s Kittens stamp set, I created an Impossible Card as another one of my projects for the blog hop. I had never heard of this fold but YouTube has quite a few videos on it and I fell in love! My inspiration came from this version HERE but without the partial die cutting. I will try that one next, lol!

I picked out several coordinating papers that I layered on black which I thought would look great against the white card base. I colored the image with several Spectrum Noir markers and then layered it on the turquoise chevron patterned paper and again on black cardstock. The cool thing about this fold is the element with the focal image sits up quite prominently and what an adorable kitty to steal all the attention! ;)

I decorated the back strip with several fussy-cut kitty paws. The focal image folds backwards, completely flat, to slide into the envelope.

And one final shot with the focal image laying (almost) flat. I decorated the front with several hand-cut flags positioned under the stamped sentiment layered on a scalloped circle and oval. I’m really loving how this turned out and I see more of these in my future!

Purr-fect Pals for JessicaLynnOriginal Blog Hop

Hi everyone – Happy Saturday! After being out of touch with everybody and everything over the last couple months dealing with my husband’s critical illness, I’m trying to get back in the saddle. I’m absolutely thrilled to have been asked to guest design for JessicaLynnOriginal! And I’m proud to be participating in the JessicaLynnOriginal ‘Love Your Pets’ Blog Hop, going on April 21st through the 29th, and raising money for Lucky Mutts Rescue! The blog hop will be open to anyone using JessicaLynnOriginal pet stamps to add their links, and for each card added, JessicaLynnOriginal will donate 50 cents to Lucky Mutts! How awesome is that?!

Using the absolutely adorable JessicaLynnOriginal Celine’s Kittens stamp set, I created a Double Flap friendship card as my first project for the blog hop. Those who know me know I love fun folds, and I couldn’t resist this – super fun and easy! My inspiration for this one came from my friend, Dawn, HERE but of course I added my own little touch. I chose coordinating floral papers from one of my favorite 6×6 paper pads along with matching cardstock. The left-hand flap features a larger floral print layered on a lighter shade of purple cardstock. The right-hand flap features a smaller coordinating floral print layered on a darker, more bold shade of purple cardstock. I also used the smaller floral print for the strips across the top and bottom of the background panel.

Aren’t these little pals just purr-fect?! My husband and I are ‘crazy cat people’ so this stamp set was up my alley and I just love it! I stamped the image in brown ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers for a whimsical appeal, then fussy cut it and colored the edges with brown marker for a more finished look. I adhered the image to a small piece of scrap white cardstock, rounded the corners and colored the edges with the brown marker.

Here’s a shot of the right flap open to reveal the pretty large florals. I added five clear rhinestones along the left-hand side.

And the left flap is open in this shot to reveal the inside sentiment, also stamped in brown ink.

And one final shot of the closed card. Really loving how this turned out!
