Another Paper Goods Feature at STAMPlorations!

Hi everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend and you’re doing something fun! I’m thrilled to be showcasing three more projects created with some of the amazing Paper Goods over at STAMPlorations! I absolutely love these products and I’m having the best time ever! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! For this STAMPlorations feature I have created three card projects using the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts available in the Paper Goods section of the store. These card fronts are so beautiful, and although I created all cards, these can be used to create just about any kind of paper project. My first project is a birthday tile card featuring the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts with several raised tiles and a die cut Skinny Sentiment.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding landscape card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel cut from CutCardStock Basis Magenta cardstock which I adhered to the card base. I cut the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Front into 1″ squares and adhered them to the magenta cardstock panel, popping several of the squares up on 1-mm thick foam pads. Using the Skinny Sentiments die set, I cut the letters from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock and the background from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock, assembled the sentiment, and adhered it to the card panel. I added several gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Brilliant Citrine Embellishment Mix to complete the front.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of CutCardStock Basis Magenta cardstock and a leftover strip cut from the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Front, stamped the sentiment in black ink from the Layered Vase stamp set, and layered the panel on the magenta cardstock.

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Accessories: Tonic Studios 12″ Guillotine Paper Trimmer, Bearly Art precision craft glue, Big Shot, MISTI stamp tool, 1″ square 1-mm thick adhesive foam pads, Trinity Stamps Brilliant Citrine Embellishment Mix

My second project is a set of six 3.5″ x 5″ motivational notelets also featuring the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts with computer-generated vertical sentiments reading Encourage, Believe, Dream, Create, Inspire and Imagine. I cut the card bases from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Eclipse Black cardstock, and rounded the bottom right corner of each. I layered panels cut from the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts onto the black linen panels and adhered them to the front of the card bases. I cut black linen banners for each card, flagged one end with the square punch, and adhered one vertically to each card front. I printed the Encourage, Believe, Dream, Create, Inspire and Imagine sentiments on the computer, trimmed them and adhered one to each card front. I added black gemstones to complete the card fronts. I embellished the inside panels with leftover pieces of the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts and strips of CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock, and layered the panels on the black licorice cardstock. Since these are notelets, I left the inside of each of these blank to write a custom message.

And my final project for this feature is a set of three inspirational note cards also featuring the Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Fronts with negative-space cut-outs for the sentiments using the Beautiful, Charming and Fabulous Word Dies.

I cut the card bases from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock, CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock. Using the Beautiful Word Die, Charming Word Die and Fabulous Word Die, I die cut the sentiments at an angle into the center of each Artsy Abstract A2 Quick Card Front panel and then adhered them to the layering panels. I embellished the card fronts with narrow layered strips cut from CutCardStock Basis Magenta cardstock, CutCardStock Curious Metallic Night cardstock, CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock, and added the stamped and trimmed word You’re from the Layered Citrus stamp set. I added gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Morganite Muse Embellishment Mix, Trinity Stamps Aquamarine Ripple Embellishment Mix, Trinity Stamps Topaz Twinkle Embellishment Mix to complete the card fronts. I embellished the inside panel of each card with striped skinny washi tape and layered the panels on the same cardstock used on the front. As these are note cards, I left the inside of each one blank to write a custom message.

Paper Goods Feature #2 at STAMPlorations!

Hi everybody! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend and doing something fun! I’m a little late with this post but I’m thrilled to be showcasing three more projects created with the Paper Goods over at STAMPlorations! As is the norm when playing with STAMPlorations goodies, I’m having a blast! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! These projects were shown on the STAMPlorations blog on August 23rd which was the day after I got home from the hospital after suffering a heart attack. I had what they call a widow-maker’s heart attack with 100% blockage in my left anterior descending. I spent four days in the hospital and came home with a ton of medications that I’ll be on for the rest of my life, along with lots of diet changes and an exercise regimen. I’ve lost ten pounds but I certainly don’t recommend having a heart attack to do it, lol! ;)

So the posts you’ve seen in my blog over the past two weeks were scheduled in way in advance, and this post is the first fresh post I’ve written since I’ve been home from the hospital. Now, for the fun stuff… for this STAMPlorations feature I have created three fun Christmas projects using the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera, available in the Paper Goods section of the store. These ATC Backgrounds are so awesome and can be used to create not only artist trading cards, but tags and ornaments as you’ll see here shortly! My first project is a set of six ATCs, cards and coins, featuring the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera with stamped sentiments from the Joy clear stamp set. All have heat embossing and/or glossy or shimmer overlay. These all have some nice shine going on!

I cut and punched the ATC bases from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and adhered them to the back of the individual card and coin panels trimmed and punched from the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera. I stamped sentiments on each one from the Joy clear stamp set in black, brown, blue, silver and gold ink, and added clear embossing, Glossy Accents, Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, and Crystal Clear Sparkle Overlay marker to embellish each one. I ran gold and silver paint pens around the edge of each ATC to finish them off. Here is a straight and hand-held angle shot of each one (pardon my thumb, lol):

Other products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock
Ink: Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes, Black Jack and Over Coffee ink; Delicata Golden Glitz and Silvery Shimmer ink; Versamark, Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle Overlay marker, Memento Rich Cocoa marker, Posca Gold and Silver pens
Dies/Punches: Fiskars 2-1/2″ circle punch
Accessories: Tonic Studios 12″ Guillotine Paper Trimmer, Bearly Art precision craft glue, MISTI stamp tool, Hero Arts clear embossing powder, Glossy Accents

My second project is a set of four Christmas tags also featuring the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera. I created two of these tags in the traditional colors of red and green, and the other two in non-traditional colors of teal and purple.

These have diagonal striped backgrounds created from strips of CutCardStock Pop-Tone Limeade cardstock, CutCardStock Pop-Tone Wild Cherry cardstock, CutCardStock Basis Teal cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock which I adhered to Stick It Adhesive Sheet and then to Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and cut with Stitched Tags Nesting Dies. The images were cut with a stitched rectangle die and layered on slightly larger rectangle die cuts from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Hot Fudge cardstock, CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock, CutCardStock Basis Teal cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock. I added foil washi tape, clip embellishments and enamel dots or jewel bling to each one to finish them off. I cut TO and FROM for the tag backs using the Uppercase Alphabet Plate Die.

Dies/Punches: Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers, Stampin’ Up 1/2″ and 1/4″ circle punches
Accessories: Tonic Studios 12″ Guillotine Paper Trimmer, Stick It Adhesive Sheet, Big Shot, Bearly Art precision craft glue, Eyelet Outlet Red Foil and Purple Foil Washi Tape, Eyelet Outlet Brown and Black Enamel Dots, Eyelet Outlet Turquoise and Purple Jewel Bling, Stampin’ Up Hodge Podge Clips, Hemptique Bamboo Cord

And my final project for this feature is a six-sided Christmas ornament featuring images from the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera punched with a 2-1/2″ circle punch. I embellished each side with Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops for some sparkly interest.

Ornaments are super easy to make. First, I created a beaded tail and loop for the top. I punched circles from six of the images from the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1 Ephemera, scored them down the middle, and adhered each side to the next, trapping the beading wire and ribbon in the center, with a simple bow adhered at the bottom.

hello

Howdy peeps! As you know, I’ve had a three-month guest designing gig for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday and I’m having an absolute blast! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! As mentioned in my previous post, I have three projects to share for my third feature and I’m showcasing them in individual posts so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. So I’m back with my second project which is a pretty friendship card with a stenciled and glittery background created with the ARTplorations Abstract April Showers stencil, and features a flutterby (one of my all-time favorite winged things next to a dragonfly) and a cool layered sentiment created with the STAMPlorations Layered Butterflies stamp set and CUTplorations Skinny Sentiments!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a watermelon cardstock layer and an A2 size panel of Canson cold press watercolor paper. I laid down some Ranger festive berries distress ink on my Tim Holtz glass media mat, spritzed it generously with water in the Tim Holtz distress sprayer and smooshed the watercolor paper into it multiple times until the entire piece was covered, and let it dry for several hours. Using the ARTplorations Abstract April Showers stencil, I applied the festive berries distress ink very lightly with a blending brush over the entire piece, untaped the stencil and moved it to about the ten o’clock position. I applied the festive berries a little heavier along with some Versamark, and lightly sprinkled some diamond glitter over the piece. When everything was completely dry, I tapped off any excess glitter and sprayed the piece with a matte fixative. I trimmed the panel and adhered it to the watermelon cardstock layer and then to the card base.

I stamped the outline of a butterfly from the STAMPlorations Layered Butterflies stamp set in black ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock, and using the layering stamps in the same set, filled it in with Ranger festive berries and candied apple distress ink. I fussy cut the butterfly and affixed it to the lower right corner with foam pads. Using the CUTplorations Skinny Sentiments, I die cut the sentiment from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and watermelon cardstock, and adhered it to the upper left corner.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of the inked panel on the front and the watermelon cardstock, stamped the sentiment in Ranger candied apple distress ink, and layered the panel on watermelon cardstock.

And one more peek… I absolutely love how this card turned out! Love the stencil, the stamps and the dies!

life is good

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday – I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! I’m into my third month as guest designer for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday and I can’t say enough how much I have enjoyed this gig! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! For my third feature, I have three projects to share, and as I have done for my previous two features, I’ll showcase the projects individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. My first project is a fun friendship card featuring the very cool ARTplorations Life Is Good mask using the very old and elementary technique of tracing! I don’t believe I’ve done this since I was a child, lol! My first thought was to ink around it, and after thinking about it overnight I decided to trace it, fussy cut it and make a slimline out of it! Mission accomplished!

I created a top-folding slimline card base measuring 9″ x 3-3/4″ from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock. I still had my sewing machine out from hemming some jeans for the hubs, so I thought I’d sew around the outside edge of my card panel. It’s been ages since I’ve done any sewing on card panels so what the heck… that’ll tie right in with the tracing, lol! I did straight stitching and went back did some zig-zag in a few areas, and adhered the panel to the card base. I added roughly two and a third CRAFTplorations Artsy Geometric Backgrounds Clear Stickers in the center of the panel which I outlined with narrow strips of the CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock. I traced around the entire mask with a red fine point marker using orange, yellow and red dotted paper for each word, and then fussy cut the three words and ran a black marker around the edges for definition. I adhered the words to the background panel and then added some tiny snips of leftover orange cardstock strips for a little interest.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with the remaining two-thirds(ish) of a CRAFTplorations Artsy Geometric Backgrounds Clear Sticker and leftover strips of the CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange cardstock. I stamped the STAMPlorations Grand Adventure sentiment in orange ink and layered the panel on orange cardstock. I added a few more snips of leftover orange cardstock strips.

And one more peek… I bet no one uses tracing in their crafts anymore… so I feel good about bringing back an old-time technique! I sure like how this turned out!

Accessories: Tonic Studios 12″ Guillotine Paper Trimmer, Tombow Mono permanent adhesive, Bearly Art precision craft glue, Singer sewing machine, Coats white thread

Shaped thank you note cards

Hello again! I’m back with the third project in my second feature as guest designer for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday! Have I told you lately how much I’m enjoying this?! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! As mentioned in my previous two posts, I have three projects to share and wanted to showcase them individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. So here is a pretty pair of shaped thank you note cards!

I cut two different shaped card bases from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with layering panels for each card from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and CutCardStock Curious Metallic Chestnut cardstock. This was my first play with deco foil Transfer Gel Duo which I used with the ARTplorations Abstract Oats Stencil, rose gold foil, deco foil Stencil Pal and a laminator to decorate the front panel of each card. OMGosh, I’m hooked. I’ve been using a brand name foiling machine for the last 7 years or so, and I have to tell you that the Gel Duo and laminator outperforms by a long shot. I made the switch on a whim because I’m always disappointed in the outcome with the other machine. So glad I did! Okay, so I added several tiny white flat-back pearls to the front panel of each card after adhering the layers to the card bases. I applied two clear stickers from CRAFTplorations Just Thank You Clear Stickers to a scrap of white cardstock, trimmed them and flagged one end, then layered them on scraps of the brown cardstock and adhered one to the front of each card.

I cut the inside panels for each card from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and CutCardStock Curious Metallic Chestnut cardstock as well. These are note cards, so I left the inside of each blank to write a custom message.

And one more peek… totally loving this stencil which looks amazing with the foiling! So pretty!

Free Spirit Wild Heart

Hi friends! As I mentioned in my last post, I’m into my second month guest designing for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday and I’m in crafty heaven! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I have three projects to share for my second feature and I’m showcasing them individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils along with other products available in the store, so I’m back with my second project which is a triple fold. If you know me, then you know that I’m a real sucker for fun folds! I’ve made several of these triple folds previously and they are so cool!

I created the triple fold card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and then cut layering panels from gold foil cardstock. Using the ARTplorations Aperture Slimline Stencil, I randomly applied several colors of distress inks to a sheet of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I cut slightly smaller panels from the inked cardstock and adhered them to the gold foil panels and then to the card base. I applied a clear sticker from CRAFTplorations Free Spirit Clear Stickers to a scrap piece of white cardstock and cut it in a diamond orientation rather than square with a die from CUTplorations Pierced Curly Frames/Tags Nesting Dies, layered it on a slightly larger die cut shape from gold foil and adhered it to the card front. The final step was adding small purple enamel dots to the corners and creating a belly band to keep the card closed.

This is such a unique fold! Here are a couple shots of the card opening.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of the inked cardstock and gold foil, applied a clear sticker from CRAFTplorations Shine Bright Clear Stickers, and layered the panel on gold foil cardstock.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! This stencil is amazing!

Wishing you a wonderful day tag

5/15/21 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi everybody! Happy Sunday! I shared last month that I’m guest designing for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday for three months and I can’t tell you how much fun I’m having! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m into my second month, and for my second feature I have three fun projects to share and will showcase them in individual posts so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. My first project is a pretty ‘just because’ kind of tag. I love tags and don’t make nearly enough of them!

Using a stencil adhesive, I randomly placed square templates from the ARTplorations Squares Flexi-Template on a half-sheet of Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and applied Memento New Sprout ink with a dauber. Then I used the largest die from the CUTplorations Stitched Tags Nesting Dies to cut the tag. I used the STAMPlorations Layered Vase stamp set and an assortment of Memento inks to stamp the focal image and sentiment.

I attached a purple and a green ribbon to the top with some bamboo cord tied in a bow, and added several tiny iridescent gemstones for a little interest.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out! Purple and green are one of my favorite color combos and I’m in love with the whimsical nature of this tag! Awesome products!

ART happens mixed media board

Hello again! I’m back with the third project in my first feature as guest designer for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday! I’m having a blast! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! As mentioned in my previous posts, I have three projects to share and wanted to showcase them individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges. All three projects feature several ARTplorations Stencils and Masks along with other products available in the store. So here is a fun mixed media board!

I started by laying a 6×6 piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock with the ARTplorations ART happens Mask and three pieces of the ARTplorations Circles Flexi-Template in my ink spray cardboard box and randomly sprayed Red, Gold, Yellow and Orange Glimmer Mists over the board. I then put a 2×2 EcoArtBoard into the cardboard box with the R on the mask centered over it and sprayed the Glimmer Mists over it as well. The spray landed heavier in some areas on both pieces, splattered/splotched in some areas, and even ran in a couple areas but I felt like all this contributed in a positive way to this mixed media board! After both pieces were thoroughly dry, I adhered the inked cardstock to a 6×6 Gessobord with matte gel used as an adhesive, and then randomly stamped sentiments from the STAMPlorations Art Is stamp set by pressing the stamps into barn door archival ink and then pressing them onto the pieces with my fingers rather than putting them on a block. I expressed ink from my Gold Posca pen onto a piece of scrap paper and flicked gold ink over the board, and then ran the pen around the edges of both pieces. I used the matte gel to adhere the EcoArtBoard to the Gessobord, lining up the letters. The finishing touch was adhering an arrow from the CRAFTplorations Funky Arrows #2 pack with the matte gel and drawing four tiny gold dots on the arrow with the Gold Posca pen.

Here are a couple additional shots.

And one more peek… this was so much fun! This mask and circle templates are awesome! Nothing like good mixed media play!
