Dream

Hi everybody! A big ol’ Happy Huuuump Day to you! Hope you’re having a fabulous week! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring more of our Stardream Metallic cardstock that’s on sale this month so be sure to stock up! This is some amazing cardstock that will do your projects proud! I used Stardream Metallic Neptune cardstock and Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock which I paired with Basis Teal cardstock for some scallop detail on the inside of the card. The Neptune cardstock is a deep, deep teal color that’s almost black – and it’s shimmery and just gorgeous.

I cut a mini slimline card base (have I mentioned lately how much I love this size card?!) from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock along with layering panels from Stardream Metallic Neptune cardstock and Stardream Metallic Silver cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers Dies, which I adhered together and then to the card base. I found this glassware sticker at a Dollar Tree store that I visited last month while one of our kitties was at the vet getting a lion shave (yep, our Loki looks super cool!) and I had several hours to kill. I’ve never seen this type of sticker before but I imagined this dream catcher would look great on a card, and it does! Needless to say, I bought several of these glassware stickers in different themes to make more cards later on. ;) To complete the card front, I added a bunch of iridescent gemstones to the dream catcher. Lots of sparkle going on!

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock using the Waffle Flower Mini Slimline Layers Dies and embellished it with scallop borders punched from Basis Teal cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Happy Dreams stamp set in teal ink and layered the panel on a Stardream Metallic Neptune cardstock die cut panel.

And one more peek… totally loving how this card turned out! I’m in love with this Stardream Metallic Neptune cardstock! I’ve had it in my stash for a while and this is the first time I’ve used it.

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Can you believe we’re headed into the middle of March?! The Blank Page Muse ATC challenge, is live today and I’m stoked to share my Inspiration Team project! I created my very first ATC… believe it or not… not sure why I haven’t created any yet because they are so simple and so fun! Just like a mini card front with no inside work to be done, lol! I used stamps from Classic Spark Rubber Stamp Set (diamond background) and Memories Art Rubber Stamp Sheet (butterfly) and Art Journal Words, Swirls and Curves (Dream word).

Green and blue is one of my favorite color combos. I started by dropping Sailboat Blue, Aqua, Botanical and Citrus alcohol ink along with blending solution, on a piece of Yupo paper. I repeated the process until I got the look I wanted and let it dry.

I trimmed the paper and stamped the diamond background from the Classic Spark Rubber Stamp Set in Black StazOn ink. This stamp is huge and amazing! :)

I stamped the sentiment and the butterfly in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored the butterfly with Spectrum Noir markers.

I cut the sentiment with a stitched oval die and inked the edges, and then fussy cut the butterfly and added clear sparkle overlay marker. I arranged the sentiment and butterfly, along with white pearls and a pretty fabric flower to complete the ATC. Love how this turned out!

** 6/1/17 DT Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge Blog! **

Hi everyone! Happy Friday – hope everyone has had a good week! Today is my post day on the Dare 2B Artzy blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project using the Dream Catcher and Dream Big stamp sets, Wild Lilac ink and the top strip from Artzy Doodles Wild Lilac paper. I created a beautiful mixed media encouragement card.

2017_02260001a

A few weeks ago a fellow teammate inspired me to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to do some watercoloring. This dream catcher image is perfect for that technique so I heat embossed it in white and proceeded to get inky! I scribbled some purple on my craft mat and spritzed it with water. I lightly wet down the watercolor paper and painted it with the watered-down purple, then dried it with my heat tool. I scribbled some more purple on my craft mat and spritzed it with less water to create a deeper shade of purple, then flicked the brush downward to create dark purple spots over the entire piece. I dried that with my heat tool, then colored in the inside of the dream catcher with red, pink, orange, yellow, green, aqua, a couple shades of blue and a lighter shade of purple. I dried that and flicked some water on it to wash the colors out a bit and then dried it again. I then inked around the edges of the piece with three distress inks and dried that. I went around the outside edges once again with the darkest distress ink to get them just a tad darker and then flicked slightly watered-down white paint around the outside edges of the dream catcher.

I used Crystal Drops for the beads which I think looks pretty neat, and I really love the paint splatters and the dark inking! I’m really pleased with how this turned out!

I decorated the inside with the strip from the top of the Artzy Doodles Wild Lilac paper and a very narrow strip of dark purple cardstock down the left side. I stamped the image in Wild Lilac ink and cut it with a stitched rectangle die that I layered on a stitched oval die cut.

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
