Good Luck

Hi friends! A very Happy Monday to you – I hope your weekend was amazing! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve popped in this morning with a card I created for The Outlawz June Crash Your Stash Challenge! My daughter has been dealing with an unruly teenager and has been calling me every evening for advice and support, and every evening I go into my studio to talk, put her on speaker, and make a card! Not sure how or why she gives me such inspiration while dealing with this situation, but the cards come together so easily! I guess sometimes it pays not to over-think the designs! This Good Luck card features the fun pleated fold (which I haven’t done in ages) that was introduced to me years ago when I was a Stampin’ Up demonstrator. I actually made two cards with the pleated fold – the other one is for another design team, so stay tuned! ;)

So the prompt this month for the Crash Your Stash Challenge is Twine. The purpose of this challenge (as the name suggests) is to encourage participants to use what they already have in their stash and not go out and buy anything new for the challenge. I have several spools of twine in my stash so this was an easy one! ;)

I cut a standard A2 top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from Stampin’ Up Soft Suede and Pool Party cardstock. I created the pleated fold element from Stampin’ Up Whole Lot of Lovely DSP which features teal and brown in the colors – and happens to be one of my favorite color combos – so that’s the direction I went. I stamped the Brutus Monroe sentiment in Catherine Pooler Over Coffee ink (I am SO digging her ink line!) on Stampin’ Up Pool Party cardstock, cut it with a stitched circle die, and layered it on a slightly larger Soft Suede stitched circle die cut. I dug out a couple teal eyelets from my stash to thread the twine, and added a small twine bow and tiny die cut butterfly to the sentiment die cuts. The finishing touch was adding JustRite die cut corners and Eyelet Outlet Teal Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the DSP and cardstock used on the front, stamped the Waffle Flower sentiment (from the Sentiment Additions stamp set) in Catherine Pooler Skylight ink (did I mention how much I love her ink line?!), and layered the panel on Soft Suede cardstock.

And one more look… I’m so smitten with this design!

Good Luck

Hi everyone! Can you believe we’re fast approaching the middle of this year, lol?! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #109 – Anything Goes! We’re being sponsored this month by DRS Designs so be sure to come over and play for a chance to win a prize! I used the very cool See You Later, Alligator stamp as the focal image for my Pull Tab Slider Card. You know I love my fun folds and I thoroughly enjoyed this one, as you can only imagine! My inspiration came from my friend Dawn (yep, once again) HERE.

I stamped the sentiment as the focal point in black ink on green cardstock and cut it with a square die. I cut a slightly larger square die cut in black glitter paper and then a postage stamp die cut in the green cardstock, and layered them all together.

Here’s the fun part of this card – the pull tab mechanism with the Good Luck sentiment. As you pull the tab, the sentiment slides over to the right. Super cute!

And here’s a shot of the inside which I left blank to write a custom sentiment.
