coffee*friends perfect blend

12/23/19 Top 5 at Arty Divas!

Hello, my crafty peeps! Surprise! I’ve popped in today to share a project I created today that’s NOT for a design team, lol! I’m playing again over at The Outlawz Challenges, this time in the Twisted Thursdays December 5-December 18 Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes with a twist of using a hoarded supply and what is it? I’m a known paper hoarder and I guess I should be in a 12-step program, lol! I am totally in love with the gingham papers in the Simple Stories Wood & Gingham Basics paper pad and I use them sparingly because I don’t want to use them up, lol! Sad, huh?!

My Besties is sponsoring this challenge and I have several of her images in my stash, so I printed the Fluffy Cafe image on 60# Hammermill copy paper. I ran into a snafu in my studio when I went to color the image with my alcohol markers. The tips of most of them have ‘frayed’ and basically have become unusable. :( So I grabbed my Prismacolor Pencils – to begin with I’m still such a novice with pencil coloring and then, on top of that, I couldn’t find a dang pencil sharpener (who does that?!)! At any rate, I put my big girl panties on and proceeded with my project and I think, all in all, she turned out pretty well. I stamped the sentiment from Dare 2B Artzy’s Perfect Blend stamp set in Jet Black StazOn ink and then cut the image with a stitched oval die. I made the sleeve from Cardstock Warehouse’s brown box kraft cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine in a Darice Stripe embossing folder, then layered it on some DCWV pink double-sided textured cardstock. I added several light pink gemstones to finish the front.

I embellished the inside with a leftover piece of gingham paper and a strip of the pink textured cardstock used on the front. I stamped the inside sentiment on white cardstock and cut it with a stitched rectangle die.

Here’s one more look… simply put, I’m smitten! I L-O-V-E how this turned out!
