glittering in the sun:

Hi everyone! Happy Monday to you! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Cheapo Dies is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by Sharon:

jul 2019 card
I really love this sketch and it took me several days (yes, I said DAYS!) to pick my papers, lol! I wanted this encouragement card to pack a punch, and by golly, I think it does! I am so smitten! I designed my own sun, and all the layers are hand-cut without any kind of pattern. There are two base layers with the sun rays and another center layer. I embellished the center and the rays with hand-cut pieces of gold metallic Washi Tape sheet.

I chose coordinating black and cream papers for the background and flags. The pop of yellow (and metallic gold) in the sun, skinny Washi Tape and flat-back pearls really brings this card together. I added three clear and black rhinestone pairs.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of cardstock and Washi Tape used on the front. The sentiments on the front and inside are Tim Holtz Clippings sentiment stickers.

And another look… I really love how this turned out!
