Memories Mini Album

8/14/20 DT Favorite at World Wide Open Design Team Monthly Challenge!

Hi friends! I hope you had a great week! I have a very cool project to share with you today – a mini album made from envelopes! I’ve seen a number of these over the years in various sizes so I decided to make one. Super easy and lots of fun!

I used a 6×6 paper pack with a variety of pretty colors and patterns, and used my envelope punch board to make ten 3×4 envelopes. Any size handmade or pre-made envelope will work, and use as many envelopes as you want your album thickness to be. The flap of each envelope is folded backwards, tucked into the next envelope and adhered. The final envelope flap is folded over all the envelopes and adhered to the first one. Once the album has taken shape, adhere panels onto the pages that have an envelope opening for a more finished look. I inked the outside edges of all the pages with purple distress ink. I decorated the front with a pocket, file tab, paperdolls, gold glitter bracket, buttons and pearl embellishments.

I reinforced the spine with an additional strip of paper, then threaded twine and cord inside the spine and added a couple dangling charms.

I used a pocket punch board to make several pockets with tags that I placed randomly throughout the album. I added die cut stitched ovals and circles along with double-stitched ovals, rectangles and squares to the rest of the pages, leaving plenty of room for photos and/or journaling.

And one final shot of the whole album with pages fanned. Love, love, love! Will definitely be making more of these!
