to SANTA

Hi everyone! It’s the last Sunday in October and as you know, I’ve been back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer for the entire month sharing inspiration projects. I’m happy to share my final project, a Christmas card created with the You’ve Got Mail stamp set, Mailbox Gift Card Holder die and Winter Plaid paper. I’ve had a great time guest designing this month along side the D2BA DT and providing you inspiration! Thank you, ladies!

Since all of my D2BA guest designer projects this month have been clean and simple, I created something with lots of distressing and tons of layers… my kind of card, lol! Can’t tell you how much fun this was! I created a card base slightly larger than A2 size (to accommodate the mail box die cut) and distressed the edges. I layered a distressed piece of the Winter Plaid paper on green cardstock, added a piece of crocheted lace and a scalloped border across the bottom, then adhered the entire panel to the card base.

I created the mail box using the die, stamped the sentiment on it, distressed it a bit, and added the flag with a tiny brad. Then I created a tiny envelope with a red heart closure (dies also in the mailbox die set), distressed it and adhered it in the mailbox. I went through my Tim Holtz Idea-ology Festive Ephemera Pack and picked out several pieces to use on this card, and distressed them all. I added a couple poinsettias from the pack to the upper left corner and proceeded to ‘stuff’ the mailbox full of all kinds of fun goodies! The finishing touch was a simple red and white houndstooth print bow on the mail box.

One final shot of the front…

For the inside, I embellished the stamped panel with some leftover strips of cardstock and paper used on the front, and distressed the edges. Really loving how this turned out!

Hi everyone! The weeks sure are flying by! I’m back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer this month and I’m excited to share another inspiration project, a fun CAS friendship card created with the Perfect Blend stamp set, Coffee Cup die, scraps from several papers in the Artzy Doodles Variety Paper Pack and Totally Black ink. I’m absolutely loving this October guest designer gig and playing with more D2BA stamps!

I know I said the card I created for my last D2BA post was one of the most fun cards I’ve made in a while, but this one runs a close second. Super fun and super easy! And yep, you guessed it… another clean and simple creation! I shied away from them for so long, now I can’t get enough of them, lol! I stuck with the October challenge theme of Fall Colors and used Halloween colors of black, orange, purple and green! I prepared the card base and rounded the lower right corner. I cut a strip of white cardstock and rounded the two right-hand corners, then layered it on green cardstock and adhered it to the card base for a little interest.

I stamped the coffee cup three times on a small piece of cardstock and cut each one with the coffee cup die. I stamped the coffee cup again on small scraps from three of the papers in the Artzy Doodles Variety Paper Pack, making sure to get the cup wrapper centered on the scrap. I fussy cut each cup wrapper and adhered them to the white die cut coffee cups. I stamped a sentiment on one of them, then adhered them with foam pads to the front. I finished the card with dots of English Mustard Crystal Drops and a few Pewter sequins.

I kept the inside clean and simple as well with just a stamped sentiment on a layered panel.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! I’m back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer this month and it’s my day to share an inspiration project, a fun CAS birthday card using the Birthday Balloons stamp set with coordinating Balloon die that comes with the stamp set. I’m having a blast being back as a guestie for the month of October!

This was probably one of the most fun cards I’ve made in a while. It’s super simple and really packs a big punch! As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been creating more clean and simple cards which have always been a challenge for me. I stamped the balloon cluster, strings and stars on the front of the card base. Can you believe it… yes, this is almost a one-layer card! LOL! I then stamped three individual balloons in different colors on a smaller piece of cardstock and cut each of them with the balloon die.

I colored the balloons  and the stars with a Crystal Clear Sparkle overlay marker which gave them a really pretty shimmer. I finished the front of the card with a few sequins. Yes, I am a sequin freak too, lol! And didn’t this turn out just darling?!

I stamped the sentiment and a few stars on the inside, and layered the panel on green cardstock.

Cast away your troubles…

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I’m back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer for the month of October! I have an awesome inspiration project to share with you today, a get well card using the Restore the Soul stamp set and the Duck/Fish die set. I’m totally stoked to be back as a guestie this month!

I used a color palette to coincide with the October “Fall Colors” challenge – brown, red, orange, yellow, green and purple. I’ve been getting my feet more and more wet with clean and simple cards lately. Clean and simple has always been a challenge for me because I love colors, layers and big bows! I stamped the cattails and sentiment in Rich Cocoa ink on the card front, and then stamped the mama and baby duck twice on a smaller piece of cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut the ducks from the first image and the mama duck’s wing from the second image. I colored both pieces and adhered the wing to the mama duck with a dimensional pad.

I adhered mama and her baby to the card front, then colored the water. I layered the panel on yellow cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. I added ripples in the water with White Blizzard Crystal Drops and some randomly placed dots at the top with Dark Walnut Crystal Drops.

One final shot of the front showing the dimension on mama’s wing. :)

For the inside, I simply stamped the sentiment and cat tails, and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.
