Cast away your troubles…

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I’m back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer for the month of October! I have an awesome inspiration project to share with you today, a get well card using the Restore the Soul stamp set and the Duck/Fish die set. I’m totally stoked to be back as a guestie this month!

I used a color palette to coincide with the October “Fall Colors” challenge – brown, red, orange, yellow, green and purple. I’ve been getting my feet more and more wet with clean and simple cards lately. Clean and simple has always been a challenge for me because I love colors, layers and big bows! I stamped the cattails and sentiment in Rich Cocoa ink on the card front, and then stamped the mama and baby duck twice on a smaller piece of cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut the ducks from the first image and the mama duck’s wing from the second image. I colored both pieces and adhered the wing to the mama duck with a dimensional pad.

I adhered mama and her baby to the card front, then colored the water. I layered the panel on yellow cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. I added ripples in the water with White Blizzard Crystal Drops and some randomly placed dots at the top with Dark Walnut Crystal Drops.

One final shot of the front showing the dimension on mama’s wing. :)

For the inside, I simply stamped the sentiment and cat tails, and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.

I'm definitely what one could consider a crafting junkie! I love making cards, 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, mini albums and gift bags), mixed media projects, altering items, as well as occasional beading and making jewelry! Fortunately, hubby is very supportive! Life is good! :D

  1. This is very sweet Leslie. I also struggle a bit with CAS cards and love my ink and a full page of it!!! This is a simple but very effective card with the brightness of those ducks. Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Penny Black and More Challenges, Leanne DT xxx
