let it snow

Hey everybody! Well, another week is behind us and we’re headed into a glorious weekend! A little chilly but absolutely wonderful! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project today created with the amazing Snow Day Collection! This collection was released back in mid October and the fun continues with the snow globe die cut into the front flap on this Winter-themed card! If you like the Keep It Simple products I’ve used and are inclined to shop, be sure to use my discount code LoveToScrap2 at checkout to save 10% on your entire order! There is no minimum purchase requirement and no usage limits, plus the code combines with product, order, and shipping discounts!

The card base was cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar white cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating papers in the 6×9 Collection Pack. The snow globe and inside scene (from the Snow Globe stamps) were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with a variety of markers, and cut with the coordinating Snow Globe Outline Dies. The snowy background inside the snow globe was stamped in Catherine Pooler Tranquil ink (using the Snow Background stamp), then again in Versamark, and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

I die cut the snow globe shape into the front flap and then assembled it behind the patterned paper layer. I added several snowflakes stamped with the Snow Day stamps and die cut with the coordinating Snow Day Outline Dies, along with a couple clear enamel dots on the bottom strip.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover strip of the patterned paper used on the front. The sentiment was stamped using the Snow Day Stamps and cut with the coordinating Snow Day Outline Dies, and then the panel was layered on a red paper from the 12×12 Collection Pack.

Hey everybody! We had our first snow of the season a couple days ago but it wasn’t much and all melted away! We’re just a mere 6-7 (ish) weeks from Christmas, so are you getting ready?! I’ve been making Christmas cards all year long and I’m still making them! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with another inspiration project featuring the beautiful Ornaments 2 stamp set. I made a mini slimline featuring three clusters of hanging snowflakes and I really love how it turned out!

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from CutCardStock Cougar 80# Smooth White cardstock. Using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Fancy Scalloped Dies, I cut a Cougar Smooth White panel for the front. I also cut a frame from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Lagoon cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Tri-Frame dies. I stamped three clusters of hanging snowflakes and a sentiment in Catherine Pooler Cummerbund ink. I added gemstones from the Trinity Stamps Aquamarine Ripple Embellishment Mix to the center of each snowflake with my Trinity Pick Up Stick. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet Teal Enamel Dots.

Hello again! I’m back with another card I’ve showcased this morning on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog using the Snow Family clear stamp set! You know me and fun folds… I’m always on the look-out to try a new one! I saw this one in a Splitcoast Stampers newsletter not too awfully long ago, called a triple fold card with a belly band, and the tutorial can be found HERE. I had actually found the same fold (but reversed) on the Stempeleinmaleins blog this past Summer HERE which I planned to try at some point. But either way, this fold is super fun and easy, and sure packs a punch! ;)

I created the card base from teal cardstock and adhered two coordinating patterned paper layers on the folded panels. I created a layered belly band embellished with two snowflake brads to keep the card closed when it’s finished.

I stamped Poppa Snowman on the front left panel, then stamped him again on white cardstock which I colored with alcohol markers, fussy cut and paper pieced on the left panel. I stamped the sentiment and added a snowflake brad with collage medium. I took the prongs off the brad since I didn’t want them to show through on the other side.

I embellished the inside panel with a piece of the snowflake patterned paper, a stamped and die cut sentiment and a narrow strip of the teal cardstock.

And one more look… I love this fold so much that I have another base cut and folded and ready to turn into a project, lol, so stay tuned! ;)

Let It Snow

Hello again, my peeps! I mentioned in my last post that I set some time aside today to make a few cards (that are not design team projects, believe it or not), so I’m back with another one – this time for The Outlawz Crash Your Stash Challenge! The items to dig up from your stash this month are doilies! Our sponsor this month is Wink Wink Ink and I used the adorable Season’s Tweetings – Snowman With Little Bird digital image to make a Christmas card.

2020_0414006

I actually love doilies and have paper ones in several sizes and colors in my stash, plus several doily dies in assorted patterns. I love an aqua and hot pink color combo so that’s what I went with for this card even though they are very non-traditional Christmas colors. I printed the snowman image on shrink plastic and used my heat tool to shrink it to use as the focal image. I added gemstones to the doily for some wintery bling. The sentiment strip across the bottom was cut from patterned paper from the same pad as the aqua gingham background paper… from one of my all-time favorite paper pads!

2020_0414007

Here’s a close-up of the snowman. Isn’t he just the cutest guy ever?!

2020_0414008

I printed a digital sentiment for the inside and embellished the panel with another strip of the patterned paper and aqua cardstock used on the front.

2020_0414009

One more look… I’m so smitten with this image and design! It’s been a while since I played with shrink film and I really enjoyed myself… brought out the kid in me, lol!

2020_0414010

I’d love to enter this card into the following challenges:
Christmas Crafts All Year Round: April Challenge – Snow Buddies or Anything Christmas/Winter Holidays Goes
613 Avenue Create: #232 – Anything Goes w/optional geometric papers

Dies/Punches: Cheery Lynn Designs French Pastry die, Sizzix Dotted Circles die

Let It Snow

12/19/19 Winner at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog!

Hello, my crafty friends! I hope you’re enjoying some cool weather wherever you are! It’s almost Christmas – YAY! This month’s challenge launched this morning over at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MLCCB #17 – December Anything Christmas Goes! I created an adorable Christmas card to add to my stash which features a nice warm pair of mittens with sparkly snowflakes! ;)

I pulled out a very cool paper stack from The Paper Studio called Four Seasons and Everything In Between and created my background from a pretty light teal gingham pattern. The coordinating paper featured a bunch of different Christmas sayings so I cut off a strip of Let It Snow which I placed across the bottom of the front panel.

2019_08170030a

I adhered the Cottage Cutz Mittens die cut to an oval die cut and rotated it slightly. I thought the snowflakes on the mittens needed some ‘pizzazz’ so I paper-pieced some glitter pieces into them. I added some Neptune and Red Berry Crystal Drops to finish off the front.

2019_08170031a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper and cardstock used on the front, then stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches.

2019_08170032a

One more look… loving how this turned out despite the smeared Red Berry Crystal Drops in one spot. That bottle was a little thicker than the others and the peak dropped to the left and a small smear resulted when I cleaned it up. Darn it – I sure didn’t want to re-make the entire front panel! We’ll just say it’s not a mistake but a happy accident, lol! ;)

Let it Snow

Hello, my crafty friends! Here we are, diving into the last month of the year! A new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you for LTSCB #116 – Season’s Greetings! We are being sponsored this month by DRS Designs and I used the super cute Vertical Let It Snow stamp. This was such a fun card to create and has been added to my Christmas card stash!

Leslie

I cut a bi-level card base, meaning the front flap is cut about an inch shorter than the back. I used a scallop edge punch and backed it with a piece of gold mirror cardstock that was also cut with the scallop edge punch. I used a clear sparkle overlay marker on the snowman to give him a little ‘snowy’ shimmer, and a snow marker with heat tool on the SNOW letters for a little ‘snowy’ interest.

2018_11110009a

For the inside, I used a piece of brick wall patterned paper on the right side which shows when the card is closed. I printed a large digital sentiment and cut it with a dotted rectangle die and aligned it with the edge of the patterned paper.

2018_11110010a

And one more look… I love how this turned out and hope that the recipient will love it, too!

** 12/5/18 Winner at Creative Inspirations! **

Hi everyone! Gosh, the time is just flying by… here we are in the middle of November! I shared a couple weeks ago that I’m guest designing for Polkadoodles for the next couple months, and I’m rapidly becoming a Polkadoodles addict, lol! A new challenge is live over at Polkadoodles Craft Challenge and I’m super stoked to share my guest designer project for Week 46 – Anything Goes Challenge, a pretty winter blues card. I’m still adding to my Christmas card pile and this one will go out in the mail to a special person in a couple of weeks!

2018_11100005a

I started with the totally adorable Snowballs and Snowmen – Winnie White Christmas image and heat embossed Iridescent Sparkle and then Clear over the entire image, trimmed it and rounded the edges. It’s layered multiple times on silver mirror cardstock, blue cardstock and two types of blue paper, one of them being Polkadoodles digital paper from the Winnie Winterland – Big Kahuna Digital Craft Download Bundle. All corners were rounded for a smooth look.

2018_11100006a

Here’s an angled shot in hopes that you can see all the snowy goodness on the image! That Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder is awesome! You can also see the bi-level card base – the front flap is cut about an inch shorter than the back. The sentiments are also from the Winnie Winterland – Big Kahuna Digital Craft Download Bundle.

2018_11100007a

I layered the inside sentiment on the blue Polkadoodles digital paper and layered a wide strip across the bottom so the blue shows when the card is closed. What fun this was and I love the way it turned out!

Hi everyone! I’m back yet again this morning, this time to showcase a guest designer project for the September Anything Goes challenge over at Your Scrapbook Place! One of my cards was a winner a few weeks back and the lovely Holley invited me to be a guestie for the next several challenges! Of course, I couldn’t say no, lol! We are being sponsored this month by Pickled Potpourri and I created a Double Fun Fold using the Christmas Window image. OMG, I’m so smitten! This was great fun! I was very happy to have Santa and his reindeer in my rubber stamp stash to compliment the image.

2017_08140001a

The focal image on the front opens to the right to reveal a stamped sentiment on the tall panel beneath.

2017_08140002a

Then the tall panel opens upward to reveal yet another stamped sentiment and cozy cabin image! How cute is this fold?! Love, love, love! Thanks, Dawn, for the inspiration! <3
