Thank you note cards for The Outlawz

Hi friends! Another week has rolled around and I keep saying it’ll sure be Christmas before we know it! I just can’t believe how fast the time is flying by! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new Tic Tac Toe challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Free Pretty Things For You so be sure to come on over and play! This is my last post for The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, and I’d like to thank Laurian, Jacqui and the crew for having me along these last five months – I’ve had a blast but unfortunately I have so much on my plate right now that I really need to trim back. So I thought it only fitting to create a set of four thank you cards using the absolutely gorgeous Girl Boss Black and White Floral Digital Delilght Papers that were gifted to me for the two challenges this month. These cards feature what I always call the ‘phantom die cutting’ technique which is actually a raised inlaid die cut where typically a foam die cut is adhered into the negative space, then a second foam die cut (if desired) is adhered on top of that one, and then the background die cut is adhered on top of the second layer of foam. I’ve done it with one layer of foam, two layers of foam and multiple layers of cardstock, and it looks great any way it’s done. I used several layers of 110# cardstock for these and I love how they turned out!

For the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this fortnight, we are to choose a column, row or diagonal, and use something from each image on our project. I chose the diagonal from top left down to bottom right, and used hearts, flowers and colors orange and yellow.

I cut standard A2 size landscape top-folding card bases from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock. along with layers for each card cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Orange Fizz cardstock and the Girl Boss Black and White Floral Digital Delilght Papers printed on 60# Hammermill copy paper. Using the Waffle Flower Bold Alpha Die Set, I washi-taped the THANKS letters together and die cut them into the bottom of each digital paper background. I die cut four more sets of letters from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock for each card. I adhered the digital paper backgrounds to the orange layers and then adhered the panels to the card bases.

I began adhering the white die cut letters into the negative spaces on each background. After the first layer, I adhered the tiny triangular piece from the A (cut from the digital paper) into the negative space, and then proceeded with three more layers for some nice subtle dimension. Using the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions Stamp Set, I stamped the second portion of the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Orange Peel ink, cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions Die Set and adhered it over the raised letters. For each card, I punched one heart from the orange cardstock and three more from the 110# white cardstock, layered them together, and adhered it to the left of the sentiment.

I cut the inside panels from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock, embellished them with matching strips of the digital paper and a narrow orange cardstock strip, and layered the panels on orange cardstock. Since these are note cards, I left the inside panels blank to write a custom message in each.

And one more peek at the set… so loving the ‘phantom die cutting’ technique, especially when using such gorgeous digital papers! OMGosh! These turned out so great!

Pair of Birthday cards for The Outlawz

Hi friends! Top of the week to you! Well, another Tuesday has rolled around and at the rate we’re going, Christmas will be here before we know it! LOL, I see you rolling your eyes! ;) Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new Color Wheel challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Free Pretty Things For You so be sure to come on over and play! I created a pair of birthday cards using sponsor papers Girl Boss Black and White Floral Digital Delight Papers gifted to me, and OMGosh, these papers are beyond gorgeous! I see lots of projects using these in my future, lol!

For the Color Wheel challenge this fortnight, we are to choose one warm color and two cool colors from the color wheel below for our project, and there is no twist this time. I used pink from the warm side and purple and blue from the cool side for my cards.

Let’s look at the card with the tag first. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a CutCardStock Basis 80# Black cardstock layer and a FPTFY Girl Boss Black and White Floral Digital Delight Paper layer which I adhered together and then adhered to the card base. I affixed a CRAFTplorations Happy Happy Clear Sticker to a sheet pulled from a light blue lined writing pad and used the CUTplorations Stitched Tags Nesting Dies to cut the first tag. I cut a second tag from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic 105# Amethyst cardstock and adhered it beneath the first one in a staggered fashion. I embellished the light blue tag with a strip of the digital paper and a narrow strip of the black cardstock, and added three small purple enamel dots. I dyed a piece of bamboo cord using Catherine Pooler Party Dress ink and once dry, I threaded it through the hole in the top of the tag and glued the ends to the back of the tag. I adhered the tag to the card front and added three more larger purple enamel dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the digital paper and the black cardstock, added an additional CRAFTplorations Happy Happy Clear Sticker sentiment, and layered the panel on the black cardstock.

Okay, now let’s look at the double easel fun fold! I really do love this fold and it’s definitely up there in my top five favs! I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with an additional A2 size folded panel from CutCardStock Basis 80# Black cardstock and two FPTFY Girl Boss Black and White Floral Digital Delight Paper layers, and adhered them together. Using the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, I cut a rectangle and adhered it to the card front at an angle. I stamped a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments stamp set in black ink, cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments die set and adhered it to the light blue die cut. I added three tiny clear jewels to the corners of the die cut to complete that panel. On the bottom panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions stamp set in black ink and added several larger clear jewels to complete that panel.

I cut the inside panel for this card from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of the digital paper and the black cardstock, added a sentiment stamped from the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions stamp set and cut with the coordinating Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions die set, and layered the panel on the black cardstock.

And one more look at the pair… I’m so smitten with this digital paper! Love, love, love!

Happy Healing

Hi friends! A very happy last Tuesday of the month to you! Wow… another month has flown by! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new ‘5 Colors Plus Twist’ Challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! The twist this time is to make a Get Well card so I created a cheerful patchwork card for a far away friend using the sponsor’s image called Flower Girl that was gifted to me! This was a fun one!

For the ‘5 Colors Plus Twist’ Challenge this fortnight, we are to use at least three of the five colors shown in the photo below, as well as as play the twist of making a Get Well card. I used all five colors in my card.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a layering panel from 80# Solar White. I cut stitched squares and rectangles from CutCardStock Basis 80# Aqua, Basis 80# Coral, Basis 80# Pink, Basis 80# Red cardstock and CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Gumdrop Green cardstock and arranged them on the white cardstock panel. I printed the digital image on a full sheet of 80# Solar White cardstock and cut it with my Scan N Cut along with four more plain die cuts, colored the top one with alcohol markers, and then layered them together for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner, adhered the flower girl, and added Eyelet Outlet White Enamel Dots.

Here’s an angled shot showing the dimension of the digital image, almost like a thick paper doll! ;)

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a couple more stitched die cuts and a Brutus Monroe Conversation Clipping (telling my far away healing friend that I miss her), and adhered the panel directly to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… love how this turned out! The patchwork design is so fun and pairs perfectly with the adorable image!

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest 110# and 80# Solar White cardstock; CutCardStock Basis 80# Aqua, Basis 80# Coral, Basis 80# Pink and Basis 80# Red cardstock; CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Gumdrop Green cardstock

Thank You flower basket

Howdy, peeps! Another weekend is behind us and I hope your week is off to a great start! I’m hopeful that I’ll do a better job remembering what day of the week it is, lol! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new Photo Inspiration Challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! I created a pretty thank you card using the sponsor’s image Flower Basket that I’ve had in my stash for years. I used the faux wood technique on a panel that I learned years ago from Gina K and haven’t done in a very long time. A big ‘thank you’ to my friend, Vicki, who used this technique in one of her recent projects and inspired me to use it.

For the Photo Inspiration Challenge this fortnight, we are to find inspiration in the photo below and use it in our project. I was inspired by the neutral colors and the greenery.

I cut a 5-1/2″ square top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with layering panels and an embellishing strip from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Hot Fudge cardstock and My Mind’s Eye Collectible Unforgettable and All Is Bright Designer Paper Pads. I printed the digital image on 80# Solar White cardstock, colored it and cut it with a dotted squares die, then layered it on a Hot Fudge swatches die cut. As mentioned above, I created a faux wood panel using Memento Peanut Brittle and Rich Cocoa ink – the Peanut Brittle first and then the Rich Cocoa for a little bit of darker streaking to make it a tad more realistic looking. Using the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions stamp set I stamped the sentiment in Catherine Pooler Icing On The Cake ink and cut it with the coordinating Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions die. I adhered the layers, panels and sentiment to the card base and finished it with some Eyelet Outlet Brown enamel dots.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone 65# Hot Fudge cardstock and the MME patterned paper, stamped the sentiment in the dark brown CP ink and cut it with the coordinating die, and layered the panel on the Hot Fudge cardstock.

And one more look… super happy with how this thank you card turned out! I absolutely love this image!

Being cool is always important

Happy Tuesday, everybody! Hope your week has started off nicely! I sure am loving life and I cherish every minute I spend in my studio! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new ‘Black & White + One Color’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Eureka Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! I created a fun birthday card using the sponsor’s Cool Cat with Shades image and Being Cool sentiment from my stash. Isn’t this guy really just the coolest?!

For the ‘Black & White + One Color’ challenge this fortnight, we are to use black and white and a choice of one other color along with the twist of ‘Add Spots’ as shown in the photo below. I used black and white plus neutral tan as my one color, and I did play the twist by adding a strip of black and white polkadot paper.

I cut a 5-1/2″ square top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock along with a CutCardStock Basis 80# Black cardstock layer and some patterned paper pieces. I printed the digital image and sentiment on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock, and fussy cut the image and die cut the sentiment. I also printed ‘Happy Birthday’ on the computer, trimmed it into a strip and adhered it to the bottom of the image. The finishing touch on this one was the addition of three square gemstones in the bottom left corner.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of patterned paper, added a layered CRAFTplorations Happy Happy Clear Sticker and layered the panel on CutCardStock Basis 80# Black cardstock.

And one more peek… this image and sentiment are just so stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it!

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest 110# and 80# Solar White cardstock, CutCardStock Basis 80# Black cardstock, Stampin’ Up Go Wild DSP Stack
Stamps: Eureka Stamps Cool Cat with Shades image and Being Cool sentiment

Just saying hello

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! Can’t believe we’re in the middle of May already! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new Monochrome challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! We know you love you some Bugaboo! I created another front step card, this one being a hybrid card featuring one of my favorite fun folds, using the 4 Block Tulip Square digital image gifted to me from Bugaboo and a stamped sentiment from Altenew! I love this image! A good friend of mine recently asked me what a ‘hybrid’ card is so I explained the card maker’s definition which is the use of rubber/clear stamping along with digital stamping on cards, and the scrapbooker’s definition which is the use of store-bought patterned paper along with digital paper on scrapbook layouts. I scrapbooked years ago and created hybrid layouts all the time but just kind of lost interest and got into card making. But she thought that was awesome and said she had never heard of that term, lol! She’s not a crafter, so go figure… ;)

For the Monochrome challenge this fortnight, we are to use varying shades of purple as shown in the photo below. I love purple so this challenge was a fun one!

I created a front step card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and cut layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock. I ran two of the layering panels through the Big Shot with a Swiss Dots embossing folder for a little texture. I colored the tulip image with alcohol markers in several shades of purple, layered it on CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock and then on the CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock with just a tiny bit showing on the sides, and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in dark purple ink, cut it with a flagged die and adhered it at the top. The final touch was adding purple enamel dots to the top and bottom.

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with two hello die cuts that I cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock and CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock and layered together to carry over the sentiment from the front. I adhered a Swiss Dots embossed dark purple strip and a narrow amethyst strip to the top of the panel.

And one more look… a side view so you can see the cool construction. I show this every time I make this fold, lol! I love it! And it folds flat for mailing!

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Neenah Classic Crest 110# and 80# Solar White cardstock, CutCardStock Basis Dark Purple cardstock, CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock
Stamps: Bugaboo Stamps 4 Block Tulip Square digital image, Altenew Painted Butterflies stamp set
Ink: Nuvo alcohol markers- 437, 439, 441; Memento Elderberry ink
Dies/Punches: Altenew Calming Reverie die set, Inspired by Stamping Fancy Label Dies 3
Accessories: Tombow Mono permanent adhesive, Bearly Art precision craft glue, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Big Shot, Eyelet Outlet Purple Enamel Dots

Thank You

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday and top of the morning to you! A new ‘Colors and a Letter’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps so be sure to come on over and play! You know you love some Bugaboo! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! For this challenge, we are to feature something ‘beginning with the letter C’ in our project. I created a thank you card featuring Bugaboo’s adorable Chibi Cupcake Peeker from my stash. Isn’t she the cutest little thing ever?!

And for the ‘Colors and a Letter’ challenge, we are to use the colors in this graphic:

I printed the digital image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers, cut it with a dotted rectangle die, and then layered it on a slightly larger dotted rectangle cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Tangy Orange. I set this piece aside to work on the card base. I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and then cut a Jillibean Soup aqua star panel to cover the front of the card base. Several weeks ago I used the Concord and 9th Gingham Background stamp set and stamped several panels in different colors and they were out on my desk so I grabbed the yellow one and cut a stitched flag, trimming off the bottom and the top to use later on. I had a solid yellow flag and flag frame already cut from CutCardStock Astrobright Solar Yellow cardstock in my extra die cut bin so I grabbed the flag frame and adhered it to the bottom portion of the card front. I adhered the layered image to the card base so that the top 1/4″ or so protruded above the top edge of the card base which I thought was a fun and unique touch. I adhered the bottom and top portions of the stitched flag (that I trimmed off earlier) to the bottom and top edges of the image over top of the orange die cut. Next up was adding the layered sentiment from Prickley Pear Stamps that I cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Black Licorice and CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock. Then the final touch was adding some orange enamel dots and some tiny yellow gemstones.

I printed the MyScrapChick digital sentiment on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and trimmed it with the sentiment centered, leaving room to embellish the panel with leftover strips of the stamped gingham and Jillian Bean soup papers. I layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green and adhered it to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally loving how this turned out with all the colors in the graphic! What a fun challenge and totally adorable image!

Aged To Perfection.

Hi everyone – I hope your week is off to great start! A new ‘3 Colors Plus Twist’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Beccy’s Place so be sure to come on over and play! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a Father’s Day card using Neville from Beccy’s Gnomes In My Garden digital stamp set. I’m so in love with Neville. I’ve had him in my stash for a little while and this is the second time I’ve used him. Is he cool or what?! If I wasn’t married and if Neville were a real dude, I’d SO date him, lol!

For the 3 Colors Plus Twist challenge this fortnight, we are to use the three colors shown in the photo below with a twist of a die cut. Definitely do-able! I used blue and green when I colored Neville, used double-stitched rectangle dies and added a yellow strip to my card design so I’ve covered all bases! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock. I printed Neville on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock, colored him with alcohol markers and cut him with a double-stitched rectangle die. I layered the image on a slightly larger double-stitched rectangle cut from CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green. I didn’t have the right color of blue cardstock in my stash so I faked it by cutting a slightly larger rectangle of the ivory cardstock and coloring the outside 1/2″ around all four sides, then adhered it beneath the layered image. I added a wide strip of CutCardStock Camomile cardstock down the center of the card base, stamped the sentiment in black ink at the bottom, adhered the layered image, and added three black enamel dots to the top to finish the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock and embellished it with a narrow strip of CutCardStock Camomile cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black ink and layered the panel on CutCardStock Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green cardstock.

And one more look… so loving this little dude! He makes the coolest cards, lol!

sending sympathy and prayers…

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! A new Tic Tac Toe challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Beccy’s Place so be sure to come on over and play! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I was gifted a beautiful tulips image from Beccy’s Spring Tulips digital image set and created a sympathy card. I know I’ve shared that sympathy cards don’t come easy for me and I typically don’t have many in my stash at any given time, but this design just came together like it was meant to be!

For the Tic Tac Toe challenge this fortnight, we are to use items on our project inspired from those featured in any column or row in the photo below. I was inspired by the green, teacups and tulips in the center column.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock. Since green is my favorite color and part of the tic tac toe inspiration, I went for two green Graphic 45 coordinating papers for the background, then cut the embroidery hoop from a My Mind’s Eye wood-look paper and gave it a solid green center (another Graphic 45 paper from the same 6×6 pad). I stamped, colored and die cut a Prickley Pear Stamps coffee cup and then arranged the tulips digital image in the cup. This was a little tricky because the digi was in a water can, so I printed the image twice, colored both of them with alcohol markers and fussy cut both. Then I did some overlaying of leaves to cover the water can handle. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Petite Pairs stamp set ink in the upper right corner. The finishing touch was the addition of some green enamel dots.

I cut inside layering panels from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and the solid green Graphic 45 paper. I embellished the white panel with leftover strips of the striped and solid green papers used on the front, and stamped the sentiment in black ink. I layered the panels together and adhered them to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… very happy with how this turned out! I absolutely love Beccy’s tulips image and I know I’ll be creating with it again soon!

BOO!

Hi friends! I hope your week has started off with a fabulous note! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! A new ‘1 Color Pick 2 Plus Twist’ challenge has started today over at The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy so be sure to come on over and play! I’m still (always? LOL) in a fun fold mode, so I created a hybrid front flap card featuring the adorable Fabrika Fantasy Halloween Cat digital image from my stash.

It sounds complicated but it’s really not. For the ‘1 Color Pick 2 Plus Twist’ challenge this fortnight, one color (white) is already given and we must pick two additional colors from the photo below and name our twist. I used purple and green with the white and my twist is Critters.

I printed the precolored image on 60# Hammermill copy paper, cut it with a stitched circle die, and layered it on a slightly larger stitched circle die cut cut from CutCardStock Granny Smith cardstock. I created the card base from purple cardstock and covered the front flap and background with coordinating Halloween patterned papers, and adhered the focal image to the flap.

I die cut the ‘BOO!’ sentiment from the purple cardstock, layering three die cuts together for a little dimension, and adhered it to the front flap, and then added three tiny iridescent gemstones.

I cut the panel under the front flap from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of patterned paper and narrow strip of CutCardStock Granny Smith cardstock, and stamped a large sentiment in purple ink. This is an extra-added peek-a-boo type of element. ;)

I cut the back panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a wide strip of the Halloween patterned paper and a narrow strip of CutCardStock Granny Smith cardstock, and stamped another sentiment. This panel is for a signature.

And one more look… totally smitten with this Halloween Cat! Such an adorable image! And I LOVE this card fold!
