Howdy peeps! Another Hump Day has already rolled around and I continue to shake my head at how fast the days are flying by. Woosh… it’s gonna be Christmas before we know it! I’m delighted to be back this morning to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project that I created with the amazing September 2022 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades! Birthday cards are at the top of my list of favorite cards to make and I love having a variety in my stash. I think I mentioned in my post yesterday that I really like all the birthday-themed prints and colors of the papers, the stickers and the upgrades in this collection. The best part about kits is everything coordinates!

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from heavyweight cardstock along with layering panels from red cardstock and pattern paper from the collection. I created a layered focal element for the card front using a notebook paper die in my stash and two additional papers in the collection. I added an icon paperclip from the upgrades as well as a floral sticker from the sticker sheet. The final touch was adding a strip of 3mm pearls.

I cut the inside panel from white cardstock and embellished it with narrow strips cut from one of the papers in the collection. I added stickers from the sticker sheet and layered the panel on red cardstock.

Hello again, my friends! How’s the weather where you are? It has turned out to be a little chilly here today but I LOVE it – I’m so ready for cooler weather! I’ve popped back on this afternoon to share another website sample I created for Prickley Pear Stamps using the super cute Emma Numbers and Emma Lowercase Alphabet Letters clear stamp sets. OMGoodness, the possibilities with these stamps are endless!

I created this card in a timeless classic color combo of black and white with just a pop of color here and there. There are three sizes of numbers in the Emma Numbers stamp set, and I used all three sizes to create the background. I colored the open areas with my drying-up fine point Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens and added a touch of Clear Star shimmer. Using the Emma Lowercase Alphabet Letters stamp set, I created the sentiment element using a couple circle punches and a scalloped circle die. The finishing touch was the addition of a few small iridescent gemstones.

I embellished the inside panel with a narrow panel of stamped and colored numbers, a thin strip of black cardstock and a die cut sentiment, and layered the panel on black cardstock.

And another look… totally loving how this turned out! I did re-do the sentiment element because the original rectangular one I made just didn’t look right. The circular one made all the difference in the world! ;)

Hi everyone! Happy May 1st already! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #46 – May Anything Goes! I created an exploding birthday card! You know how I love fun folds and this was the first one of these I’ve attempted. Fun, fun, fun!

I had a pint-sized visitor who jumped into my light box just as I started taking photos, so I had to share! I’m pleased to introduce you to Loki (‘God of Mischief’ and very appropriately named by the hubby), who was rescued from the freezing cold back in late October. It was about 19 degrees and snowing, and he showed up under our 85-year-old neighbor’s carport with his little eyes matted shut and crying. She called my husband and that was it… we had a new addition to our family. He’s growing in leaps and bounds, and is full of ‘spit and vinegar’ as my mother would have said! UPDATE: I work ahead on many of my projects and this shot of Loki was taken several months ago when I created this project and scheduled this blog post. You’ve actually already been introduced, lol! ;)

Okay, on to my card which is really the subject of this post, lol! My inspiration for this explosion card came from… yep, you guessed it… Splitcoast Stampers, and the tutorial can be found HERE. I made the card 4-1/2″ square and it boasts a large stamped birthday sentiment on the belly band to keep it closed.

I used fun bright coordinating papers from The Paper Studio along with Stampin’ Up cardstock.  I’m totally in love with this paper – I love the whimsical feel and the bright colors. ;)

I stamped on the top of the exploding mechanism and embellished it with some Gumdrops. Here’s a shot of it opening up…

And fully opened…

And one more peek with the belly band on it, ready for mailing! What a FUN fold! I’m so smitten!

Hi everyone! As you know, the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog is turning six this month, and to celebrate, we’re hosting a Sixth Birthday Blog Hop & Challenge lasting six days, with six sponsors and six prizes! Be sure to visit the blog to check out all the details! I’m showcasing each of my blog hop projects individually so I can enjoy sharing them in some challenges.

The next blog hop project I like to share is a gorgeous purple birthday card I created using a couple stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Whole Shebang stamp set. This stamp set has some of the coolest sentiments ever!

2019_03030020a

I layered a piece of digital paper on dark purple cardstock to create the background. I stamped the large birthday sentiment on white cardstock and cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I cut another stitched rectangle die cut from medium purple cardstock and another stitched scallop die cut from the dark purple cardstock, and then layered them all together. I adhered them to the background which was then adhered to the card base. I added some white gel pen dots to the sentiment and a few gemstones to complete the front.

2019_03030021a

I decorated the inside panel with leftover strips of paper and cardstock used on the front, then stamped the sentiment.

And one final look… loving how this turned out! What an amazing stamp set!
