Hi everyone! Happy New Year! Here’s to wishing you an absolutely wonderful 2018! I’m thrilled to share that I’m the new challenge coordinator over at the a2z Scrapbooking blog — very proud and honored I am indeed! I’m posting on the blog today and am happy to share a DT inspiration project for our “New To You” challenge this month using the Hero Arts Blessings Stamp & Cut! For our challenge this month, we’d love to see you use something new you got over holidays, use an unused stamp from an old stamp set, try a new technique, etc.
I tried a new technique for my CAS birthday card… alcohol inks on Yupo paper. Yep, I bought a package of Yupo paper a couple months ago which I hadn’t used yet so I broke it out for this challenge! I layered a strip of the pretty alcohol ink background I created on silver mirror cardstock and affixed a multi-layer ‘blessings’ sentiment along with a heat embossed ‘birthday’ portion. I attached this strip to a stitched rectangle die cut layered on a piece of purple Foamies foam.
You can use any colors of alcohol ink on this Yupo paper to create an absolutely gorgeous background! I see more of these in my future, lol!
Here are a couple flat angled shots showing that pretty background.
And for the inside, I layered a strip of the alcohol ink background on silver mirror cardstock and adhered it to the left side, and then stamped the sentiment on an oval window die cut butted up against the silver cardstock.
