Some Bunny Loves You

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a wonderful start! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Come on over and play with us for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by me! This is my last post for the Stick It Down DT and I’d like to thank Ashley and the rest of the team for having me along for the last year and a half! I sure have enjoyed myself – time flies when you’re having fun! ;)

Stick-It-Down-Jun2020-Card-SketchI have really enjoyed creating the first six card sketches this year for Stick It Down – it’s much easier than I ever thought it would be! Using this month’s sketch, I created an adorable Easter card featuring the colored Fabrika Fantasy Easter Bunny digital image. Love him!

2019_1224005a

I chose coordinating papers from an adorable Spring paper pad I found in my stash several months ago. The Easter eggs were perfect for this project! I cut the image with a dotted circle die, and added a stamped sentiment cut into a flag and a few flat-back pearls.

2019_1224006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of paper used on the front, and then stamped an Easter sentiment.

2019_1224007a

And here’s one more peek… really loving this guy! What an adorable Easter image! ;)

Hello again, peeps! Sending lots of smiles your way! I’m back with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges – this one is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge and we were given this beautifully simple sketch to follow!

Leigh SB Designs is our sponsor this month so come on over and play! I created a pretty thank you card – I always say one can never have too many of these on hand! This one was a lot of fun! Sketches, in general, are a lot of fun because they take most of the guess-work out of designing, and we can all use that occasionally!

I pulled out one of my favorite cardstock stacks to use for the layers on this card. Every print in the stack coordinates so you always have a beautiful card when using this cardstock! I cut an ivory card base, layered all the printed pieces on ivory cardstock, and created a stacked die cut sentiment from ivory cardstock to pull it all together. I finished off the front with some bling I’ve had in my stash forever that’s never seen the light of day!

I cut the inside panel to match the front, stamped the sentiment, and layered it on some of the red print used on the front.

And one more peek… I’m absolutely loving how this turned out! Such an amazing sketch!

Happy Anniversary

5/22/20 Top 3 Winner at Alphabet Challenge Blog!

Howdy again! I’m back with one more post this morning before I jump in the shower and get my day started. Well… step into the shower… don’t need to chance breaking a hip by jumping in, lol! I’m playing again at The Outlawz Challenges and this card I’m sharing is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge where Jan’s Digi Stamps has been our sponsor for the past month and everyone has been playing with this sketch for the past two weeks:

I created a hybrid anniversary card featuring Jan’s Succulent Bouquet digital stamp set. OMGoodness, I just L-O-V-E her images and this one looks so pretty against the blue pearlized cardstock and blue and white gingham paper!

2020_0502005

Really loving the soft look of this design. I used one of my favorite paper pads containing gingham paper. I used a stitched mini scallop circle die to cut the image which I adhered on a hand-cut flag made from the blue pearlized cardstock that I used to layer the gingham paper on. I used a small bow die to cut two bows that I layered on top of one another for a little dimension, and added an iridescent gemstone to the center. I stamped the sentiment directly on the flag beneath the focal image. Since the cardstock was pearlized, I used StazOn ink and then applied the Perfect Crafting Pouch to dry up any wet ink so I could keep crafting without having to stop to let the ink dry.

2020_0502006

I decorated the inside panel with the gingham paper layered on the blue pearlized cardstock, along with a slightly larger stitched mini scallop circle die cut on which I stamped the inside sentiment.

2020_0502007

One more peek… really loving how this turned out and it’ll go to a very special couple later on this year! ;)

Stick-It-Down-May2020-Card-Sketch

I’ve been busy creating the first six sketches this year for the Stick It Down card team and I’ve had a blast! Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty birthday card in shades of purple with pops of green. Green and purple have been one of my most favorite color combos for a long time.

2019_1222005a

I used Grass Cloth cardstock for the background which yields some beautiful texture and a strip of Lozzy’s pretty digital paper down the left side. The focal image, cut with a stitched circle die, features paper piecing of a pretty stamped floral image along with some background stamping using stamps from the same set. I stamped the sentiment, from a different stamp set, in dark purple ink and embellished the strip with Sprinkles. I finished the front with some Crystal Drops.

2019_1222006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of paper and cardstock used on the front, and stamped the sentiment in dark purple ink.

2019_1222007a

One more look… I’m so smitten! Such a pretty design in gorgeous colors!

Tis the Season

Hello, my peeps! I’m back this morning with another card I created yesterday afternoon for The Outlawz Challenges. I’ve decided that I’m going to make ‘non-DT time’ for myself in my studio on a regular basis – I’m really enjoying this! ;) I’m playing in the Wednesday Sketch Challenge this week, and what a sketch this is! Love, love, love!

Outlawz-Wednesday-Sketch_Apr2020_2

Jan’s Digi Stamps is our sponsor this month and I’ve used her gorgeous Christmas Skates digital image with sentiments to create this card. Sketches are so cool. They pretty much take the guess-work out of creating a project, and that’s fine by me, lol!

2020_0423006

I printed the digital paper for the background and layered it on green textured cardstock. I cut the focal image with a small double-stitched die and layered it on the green textured cardstock. I printed the front sentiment and layered that panel on red glitter paper. I finished the front with red gumdrops in the right upper and left lower corners.

2020_0423007

I printed the inside sentiment and embellished the panel with some of the digital paper and the green textured cardstock used on the front.

2020_0423008

One more peek… I’m so loving how this turned out! What an awesome sketch and absolutely gorgeous digital image with sentiments!

Happy Spring

Hi friends! Happy Monday to you! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Handipaper is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by me!

Stick-It-Down-Apr2020-Card-SketchI’ve absolutely enjoyed creating the first six card sketches for Stick It Down this year. I’m such a novice… prior to this, I had never created any sketches, so this has been great experience. Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty Spring card. It’s about that time of year and hopefully you’re seeing some warmer weather where you are!

2019_1224001a

I used a Spring paper pad that I’ve had in my stash for several years and have only used a few sheets out of it. This year I am making an effort to use more stamps, papers and dies in my stash that have never seen the light of day, lol! These papers are just gorgeous and I was more than happy to use them, and paired them with a super adorable Bugaboo image and a digital sentiment from Imagine That Digis by Kris out of my digi stash.

2019_1224002a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front. The inside sentiment is another one from Imagine That Digis by Kris.

2019_1224003a

And one more look… super happy with how this turned out. I love that image!

Bonnet Bouquet Friendship

5/1/20 Top Rocker at 613 Avenue Create!

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day! I’m playing, for the first time, in The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge and I’m getting my card in just in the nick of time, lol! Here is the sketch everyone has been playing with for the past two weeks:

Outlawz-Wednesday-Sketch_Apr2020
I’ve been crazy busy and set some time aside today to make a few cards. What better way to spend time ‘social distancing’ than playing in the studio?! I hope you all are staying well and staying safe! Jan’s Digi Stamps is our sponsor this month and I used her Bonnet Bouquet digi stamp set to create a friendship card. What a fun sketch and what a beautiful digital stamp set!

2020_0414001

I did change things up a bit – I created a square card and rotated the oval element to the left. I used pretty golden yellow gingham paper and cardstock to match the golden yellow flowers in the digital image. I off-set the ovals beneath the focal element and layered all the elements on black cardstock – which looks rather striking if I do say so myself. ;)

2020_0414002

I added some shimmer to the flowers and a little dimension to the flower centers.

2020_0414003

For the inside, I layered the sentiment panel on gingham paper and layered both on black cardstock as well.

2020_0414004

One more peek… just loving how this turned out!

Your wings already exist.

Hi friends! Happy Monday! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Corbett Creations is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month, created by yours truly:

Stick-It-Down-Mar2020-Card-Sketch

I’ve created sketches for the first six card challenges this year at Stick It Down. I’m a novice, never having created any sketches before, and I’ve had a great time! Using this month’s sketch, I created an inspirational card featuring another one of Lozzy’s digital papers, along with wings and sentiments from Paper Wings Productions.

2019_1222009a

I once again dug into my digital papers from Lozzy that I won a while back (I just LOVE them) and came up with a teal pattern that worked really well with my card design. I heat embossed the wings and watercolored them, then fussy cut them and added a little sparkle overlay marker. I added the vertical sentiment and several tiny black gemstones on the left side.

2019_1222010a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of paper and cardstock used on the front. I used a vertical sentiment on the inside as well. I’ve always loved vertical sentiments, as they add interest to a card, but this is the first time I’ve ever used one on the inside and I think I like it! ;)

2019_1222011a

One more look… really loving how this turned out! It’s so amazing how something so simple can pack such a big punch!

Products used:
Cardstock/Paper: Cardstock Warehouse pure white cardstock, Marco’s Kachina Grass Cloth cardstock, Stampin’ Up Soft Sky cardstock, Lozzy Star Splash Mixed Media digital paper

Stick-It-Down-Feb2020-Card-Sketch

I’ve gotten my feet wet a bit creating sketches for the first six card challenges this year at Stick It Down and have really enjoyed myself! Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty birthday card in shades of blue. I dug into my digi stash and came up with a blue Fred She Said African Violet digital paper and a coordinating blue Hollyhocks image.

2019_1222013a

The tones on the paper and image are so beautiful! I used a stitched oval die to cut the image and popped it up on light blue foam that just barely peeks out around the die cut. I pulled out a couple Paper Wings Productions stamp sets and stamped the front and inside images.

2019_1222014a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover strips of the paper and cardstock used on the front. I really love this quote by Cesare Pavese, an Italian poet who was quite prominent back in his day.

Stick-It-Down-Jan2020-Card-Sketch

I challenged myself and created my first-ever card sketches for the first six card challenges this year at Stick It Down, and I’m pretty proud of how they turned out! ;) Using this month’s sketch, I created a pretty anniversary card in a striking silver and blue color combo. The papers are some of Lozzy’s digital papers that I won a while back in one of her challenges. :)

2019_1204005a

I layered the papers on a lighter blue cardstock and then adhered them to the dark blue card base. I added two layered stitched star die cuts, a stamped sentiment and a few drops of Liquid Mercury Crystal Drops.

2019_1204006a

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock strips used on the front, and stamped the sentiment in blue ink. I won the sentiments stamp set in another challenge a while back. I don’t win tangible prizes very often but I did have a winning streak a few months ago! ;)
