Hey everybody! Happy Fri-YAY to you all – another week has bit the dust! I’m popping in for a second time this morning with a super cute card that I created for the Prickley Pear Stamps new release! Yep, you guessed it… another card using the so-very-cool Hey Girl Hey stamp set which has quickly become one of my favorites! These gals are a hoot! And I used an ‘oldie but goodie’ technique of Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color the image. My (old) bottle of Gamsol lives on my desk right in front of me – so I always see it but never think to use it – and I wonder if there’s a shelf life to this stuff?! Apparently not because it still works like a charm! I saw a Gina K Designs reel on Instagram several weeks back which reminded me that this is such an easy and fun technique so I really should be doing it! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Dark Red cardstock and a dotted patterned paper from the Jillibean Soup Bloom Soup 6×6 Mini Pad. I also die cut a mini scalloped rectangle from a coordinating Jillibean Soup patterned paper using a My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and also tore a square from some kraft corrugated paper in my stash.
I stamped the chicken gal and the word ‘Hey’ in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on 80# Solar White cardstock, trimmed the sentiment, and colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and then fussy cut it. Using the Lil Inker Designs Instant Camera die, I die cut a frame and heat embossed part of the sentiment on the bottom of the frame with Hero Arts white embossing powder. The finishing touch was adding two adhesive triangle mirrors and Eyelet Outlet 5mm red gemstones to the left upper and right lower corners for a little interest.

And one more look… super happy with the pencil and Gamsol coloring which is fairly pale in comparison to alcohol ink coloring but matches the scalloped floral die cut perfectly! Really love how this turned out!
