Hey everybody, Happy Valentine’s Day! Do you have someone special that you’re spending the day with?! Ed and I are home on this fine Friday doing our own thing. It’s awesome that we have our own hobbies so we stay out of each other’s hair, lol! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a gorgeous floral friendship card. This card is 5-1/4″ square and only uses three kinds of cardstock. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White in 110# and 80# weights along with our Beetle Black Canvas Textured cardstock which I absolutely love.

I cut the 5-1/4″ square card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White along with layering panels from 80# Solar White and Beetle Black Canvas Textured cardstock. I stamped the large image from the Honey Bee Beautiful Blooms stamp set on the lighter weight white panel, colored it with alcohol markers, and set it aside. Using a die in the Sizzix Yvette Interlaced Squares Framelits set, I dry embossed a pretty interlaced outline on the front flap of the card base. I layered the image on the black cardstock layer and added a stamped sentiment (from the same Honey Bee stamp set, stamped in black ink) which I cut with the coordinating die and popped up on adhesive foam squares. I adhered the image panel to the card front, popped up on black adhesive foam strips.

I dry embossed the interlaced outline on the inside panel as well, and added a stamped sentiment and greenery (from the same Honey Bee stamp set) which I cut with the coordinating dies. I layered the panel on the Beetle Black cardstock, which completed the card.
