Let’s Party

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday – can you believe it’s April already?! Whoosh… time is flying! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a delightful retirement card, because who doesn’t want to party when they retire?! This card features three items from the Hero Arts Let’s Celebrate Collection. I used the Celebrate Color Layering Stencils and Celebrate Clear Stamps along with the It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL. You can’t go wrong with any occasion or color palette you choose. This collection is super versatile and off the chain!

I started by stamping the banners for the focal image (from the Hero Arts Celebrate clear stamps) on CutCardStock 100# Cougar Smooth White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Hero Arts Celebrate Color Layering Stencils with Ranger cracked pistachio, candied apple, fossilized amber and seedless preserves distress inks. I placed the panel back into the MISTI and stamped over top of the stenciled banners in Versafine Onyx Black ink to crisp up the outlines.

I grabbed a Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White A2 Folded Card Base (sold by CutCardStock) – and I have to say these are pretty amazing! I used the Hero Arts It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL and stamped the first part of the sentiment at the top of the panel. I then added the second part of the sentiment which I die cut from CutCardStock Plum cardstock along with the outline from CutCardStock Glama Natural Translucent Vellum. I cut the focal panel with a Pinkfresh Studio Postage Edge die and adhered it to a Plum background panel and then to the card base. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and layered it on a panel of the Plum cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL. The first part of the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, and the second part was stamped in cracked pistachio and seedless preserves distress inks for a little interest.

Crazy cat lady and crafting junkie! We care for 15 feline rescues and just added a Forkie pup to the tribe (Frenchie + Yorkie)! I’m addicted to stamping and love making cards, ATCs, and 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, paper purses and mini albums). I also dabble in mixed media, art journaling, altered art and custom jewelry. If you’re looking for me, I’ll either be in my studio or getting some kitty or puppy lovins! ;)

  1. Now that is such a fun party card! That banner border background is so cute and fun! I do love the purple in there as well! There is always some partying going on at retirement too! LOL
