Thinking Of You

Hey everybody – I hope your new year has started off nicely! I posted a couple weeks ago on Facebook that the girlfriend of my longtime friend’s grandson was injured by a hit-and-run driver while riding her bike and was injured pretty badly. Both her legs, her pelvis and one elbow were broken, and she’s undergone a couple surgeries. She’s had a lot of people praying for her and has healed well enough to be transferred to a rehab facility. Since all my design team work is caught up for the year, I took a little time to make some cards for her that I’ll be sharing – I want to spread them out so she consistently gets happy mail. This first one is a shadow box card that I made with some Doodlebug Design products in my stash. I love me some bright colors – and the brighter the better!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Amaranth Pink cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Doodlebug Design Summer Fun 12×12 Paper Pack. I used a Honey Bee Double-Stitched Frames die to cut the aperture and then embellished the front and inside with Summer Fun Chit Chat Die Cut Pieces and Summer Fun Puffy Words. The bow on the tag was made with the bow die in the Spellbinders Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals die set.

I added a Solar White die cut panel (using the same Honey Bee die) to the back and embellished it with a few puffy flowers. I left it blank to write a custom message. LOVE how this turned out!
