Sunny Friends ATCs

Hey everybody, Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had an awesome week! I’m thrilled to share a Brutus Monroe DT inspiration project with you today featuring our Sunny Friends Dies, Bee Yourself Stamp Set and Playful Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack. I also used our Not Your Mamas Cardstock, three solid color cardstock colors, and a variety of other BM products. You know how I love me some ATCs and it’s been a minute since I’ve made any… so I was ready! They were so much fun and I totally love how they turned out!

I started by die cutting all the pieces for the snail, lemon and bee focal images from Not Your Mamas Cardstock, and colored them with Copic Ciao alcohol markers. I assembled the focals and added some Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze dabbed onto spots of Bearly Art Glue, smeared them together, and set them aside to dry. I used a 1/2″ circle of our Heat Resistant Acetate to adhere the snail shell to since there were small spaces between the pieces.

I cut the 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ artist trading card bases from Not Your Mamas Cardstock as well as layering panels from prints in the Playful Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack, and rounded the corners on all of them. I cut a strip for each card (one from Sea, Harvest and Cabbage solid cardstock) and stamped a sentiment on each from the Bee Yourself stamp set in Raven ink. The finishing touch was adding Violet Shift, Emerald Green and Topaz Flat Back Crystals.

Here is a larger shot of each one… I love ’em!

Alphabet ATCs

Hi friends! Happy Thursday and almost end of May! Can you believe the year is almost half over?! I’m absolutely delighted to share another Keep It Simple DT inspiration project created with items in the new Floral Baby Collection! It’s been a minute since I made any ATCs so I crafted a set of six alphabet cards and coins. We have a Bunny, Jellyfish, Snail, Elephant, Turtle and Crab, all featuring Floral Baby Papers, KIS Cuts Land Babies and KIS Cuts Water Babies along with KIS Cuts Melody Stories Font. I love how these turned out!

I created the four 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ card bases and two 2-1/2″ coin bases from CutCardStock Cougar 100# Smooth White cardstock. I then picked out an assortment of patterned papers from the Floral Baby 6×9 Collection Pack for the backgrounds. Then the fun began… die cutting all the pieces for the Bunny, Jellyfish, Snail, Elephant, Turtle and Crab from cardstock using the KIS Cuts Land Babies and KIS Cuts Water Babies.

The assembly is always the most fun! I’ll list the cardstock used for each one below. I had some small CutCardStock Sandcastle scraps so I scribbled them with a black Copic Sketch marker and cut the six letters from the KIS Cuts Melody Stories Font. I used an assortment of Enamel Hearts and Dots on each one.

Scrappy hugs,

Summer Sun & Fun ATCs

Hey everybody! I just can’t wrap my head around it being the first week of August already! I’ve stopped by this morning to share another Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen DT inspiration project which is a set of fun summer-themed ATCs for my collection! Sorry/not sorry for hardly ever trading them as the name suggests, lol! These have ink smooshed backgrounds and I used one of my most favorite-ever stamp sets from The Project Bin!

I cut two card bases and punched two coin bases from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and set them aside. I smooshed a separate panel of Solar White cardstock into Ranger speckled egg and salvaged patina distress inks spritzed with water from my Tim Holtz distress sprayer onto my craft mat, drying with my Milwaukee heat tool between smooshes. When the colors were like I wanted, I sprayed the panel with a homemade mist of Let’s Resin Teal Chameleon Powder and water in a Ranger Mini Mister and allowed it to dry thoroughly. I then cut two more card bases and punched two more coin bases from this inked panel.

Using The Project Bin’s Summer Fun stamp set, I stamped sentiments on each of the ATCs in Cahterine Pooler Daydream ink. I added an Eyelet Outlet sun, flop flop and fish brad to three of them, and two strips of Eyelet Outlet skinny silver washi tape to the fourth one. I adhered the extra cards and coins to the back of the embellished ones for stability.

Scrappy hugs,

Snow Queen ATC

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday… tomorrow is Friday again. Already. I’ve popped in this morning to share another Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen DT inspiration project. This artist trading card features a gorgeous super sparkly digital image of a Snow Queen!

I digitally added the snow queen sentiment across the bottom of the Gecko Galz Snow Queens 2 digital image and printed it on 65# Hammermill copy paper. I trimmed it and embossed the entire image with Versamark and Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder. Just the flat image already looked sparkly, but the addition of the actual sparkle embossing powder multiplied the WOW factor! I rounded all four corners and layered the image on CutCardStock Bright Silver foil and Basis Teal cardstock panels. The finishing touch was adding tone-on-tone snowflakes and gemstones from the Buttons Galore & More Frozen Mix Upz Embellishments. So there you have it… super easy and so gorgeous IRL! Photos of projects like this never do them justice, I’m afraid.

Scrappy hugs,

Fashion ATCs

Hey everybody! We’re mid-way through the week and I hope you’re having a good one! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #160 – Anything Goes! I felt the urge to create some more ATCs using the Grabie stickers in my stash, so I grabbed the Fashion ones along with an assortment of patterned papers and ephemera from the Keep It Simple Mango, Jade, Rose, Royal, Lemon and Lilac 12×12 Collection Packs. This kept me busy for a few minutes, lol! So much fun, and I love how they turned out!

I cut six artist trading card blanks from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and rounded the corners of each. I then cut background panels from patterned paper in the Keep It Simple Mango, Jade, Rose, Lilac, Royal and Lemon 12×12 Collection Packs. I gathered several coordinating pieces of ephemera from each pack which I added to the ATCs along with a Grabie Fashion sticker for each one. I finished them off with Eyelet Outlet enamel stars, arrows and/or hearts.

Floral ATCs

Hi friends! It’s January 1st and a somewhat busy day on my blog with new challenges launching! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #63 – Anything Goes + optional No Stamping! Come on over and play, and remember, the technique twist is only optional and not required to play! I love me some ATCs so I created a set of six floral artist trading cards with motivational sentiments. I used Grabie clear stickers and Tim Holtz sentiment stickers… and no stamping as per the optional challenge criteria.

I cut the ATC blanks from CutCardStock Basis 110# Natural cardstock and rounded the corners. I added either Grabie Old Time Garden or Flowers and Poems stickers, along with Tim Holtz idea-ology Small Talk sentiment stickers. The finishing touch was adding some gemstones from several of the Trinity Stamps Embellishment Mixes to each one. Doesn’t get much easier than this and I love how they turned out!

Scrappy hugs,

Joys of the Season ATC

Hi everybody! I hope you had a nice weekend and your week has started off nicely! Are you in the Christmas spirit yet?! I’m always in the Christmas spirit, lol! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for MIUCB #62 – Anything Goes + optional Open Technique! Use whatever technique you’d like to use on your projects this time but please mention in your blog post what technique you employed! And as always, the optional technique is not required to play in our challenges. I created a festive Christmas ATC using the holly design from the STAMPlorations Christmas Backgrounds ATC #2 employing the emboss resist technique.

I trimmed the holly design from the STAMPlorations Christmas Backgrounds ATC #2 which was part of a Paper Goods Sampler that Shery tucked into one of my past orders. Using the STAMPlorations Typografia Christmas Joys of the Season stamp and Versamark, I stamped the sentiment in the center of the ATC and heat embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. Using a Ranger mini ink blending tool and Ranger bundled sage distress ink, I lightly inked the surface of the entire ATC and then wiped it with a clean paper towel to remove any excess ink. This revealed a nicely ‘ghosted’ stamped impression. The final touch was running a Posca Gold Paint Pen loosely around the edges of the ATC for a little interest.

And one more look… such a fun technique that typically yields a great result! I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge! ;)

Fat Cats and Cat Life ATCs

10/25/22 Featured at Little Red Wagon!

Hey everybody! Happy Monday! Today is Day 1 of the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop so I’ve popped in with my first project! But first, a huge congrats goes out to Janis of Her Peaceful Garden who has coordinated The Cat Lovers Hop now for eight fabulous years! It’s going on until the 29th, so if you’re a fellow cat lover, come join us! There are tons of fun and games to join in every day, and Janis has been busy lining up some pretty awesome prizes to give away at the end!

If you are a reader of my blog, you know how much I love ATCs but I don’t (typically) trade them as the name suggests, lol! I created both artist trading cards and coins using the Vera Lane Studio Fat Cats and Cat Life images. I’ve had these in my digi stash for quite some time, and because I don’t use digis very often anymore, I forget I have them. But I absolutely LOVE them and was tickled when I ran across them (looking for something else, of course) and decided they would be the subject of my first Cat Hop project this year!

I printed the images on 65# Hammermill copy paper and the sentiments (names) on CutCardStock Basis 80# White cardstock. I fussy cut the images and trimmed the names into strips. I created the card and coin blanks from Neenah Classic 110# Solar White cardstock and used Sunny Studio Polka-Dot Parade 6×6 Double-Sided cardstock for the backgrounds, using contrasting colors so the cats would show up well. Each card and coin has a little grassy strip (created with the Marieke Grass Border die) die cut from CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock on which I grounded the kitties.

I injected a little humor with Cat Life adjectives of Gassy, Hungry and Sleepy on the cards which describes our tribe to a ‘T’, and Fat Cat names of Bertha, Beefy and Angus on the coins which are definitely names of overweight cats but not ours. At least not at this point… give them a few years (like Ed and I, lol) and that may change! Bahahaha!

Fruity ATCs

9/20/22 Featured at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! A very Happy Hump Day to you! They sure do roll around rather quickly these days! This day is a special one every year because it’s my mom’s and baby brother’s birthday but they’ve both been gone for many years. Mom would be 102 and Mickey would be 58. He was born on her 44th birthday and we always teased her about that birthday present, lol! I’ve popped in this morning to share an awesome Tape Runner DT inspiration project that I created featuring an adorable fruit-themed Fun Stamper’s Journey stamp set which is another one I’ve had for a little while. The cardstock panels, stamped fruit and sentiments on these artist trading cards were adhered with Tape Runner.

As mentioned above, everything was adhered with Tape Runner except the sequins, and I used wet glue for those. I cut the ATC bases from 110# Solar White cardstock along with panels from Doodlebug Design Gingham-Linen, Swiss Dot, and Dot-Grid-Daisy-Stripe Rainbow Petite Prints, and rounded the corners of all. These prints are some of my all-time favorites because I love the colors! For a little interest, I created backgrounds of stamped fruit on each one which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the fruit individually in black ink on Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and fussy cut them. I stamped the sentiments on Solar White cardstock as well, and cut or trimmed each one. I assembled each ATC and added two sequins to each which finished the set.

Birthday Gift Bag with ATCs

8/21/22 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday to you all! My new DT gig with the ScrapbookingStore is in full swing and I’m so loving the versatility of the papers and the embellishment upgrades in this month’s scrapbook kit! While the collection is beach-themed, I created a fun gift bag with a striped paper from the kit which will be used for a birthday. That’s what I mean by versatile! I’m wrapping up August’s shares with this gift bag along with three artist trading coins embellished with stickers from the upgrade sticker sheet to tuck into the gift bag!

Using the Lawn Fawn Goody Bag die from my stash, I cut the front and back pieces of the gift bag from a red and white striped pattern paper in the kit and assembled it.

I embellished the front of the gift bag with a stitched banner (cut from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock using the JustRite Stitched A2 Banners and Rectangles die set) and quite a few stickers, a clothespin, and a yellow sun clip from the embellishment upgrades. I also added some gemstones which completed the front.

Here are few more shots of the gift bag from different angles.

To make the artist trading coins that I tucked into the gift bag, I punched 2-1/2” circles from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and embellished them with CutCardStock Pop Tone Sweet Tooth and Cotton Candy cardstock, American Crafts POW Rouge Glitter Paper, bling, and stickers from the upgrade sticker sheet.
