A Happy Hello #1 – Love To Scrap 2

Howdy, friends – happy Thursday! I hope you’re having some decent weather where you are and looking forward to something fun this weekend! I am completely caught up with my design team work and have had a little extra time to create some random projects which I’ll be sharing over the next few weeks between my scheduled DT posts. I plan to start entering challenges again (it’s been about 1-1/2 years since I last entered one) now that I have a little more time, which I’m excited about.

This sea-themed quilt card features papers, stamps, die cut pieces and embellishments from the Love From Lizi Under The Sea kit which was released while I was still on her design team. They inadvertently sent my DT package to our old address after we moved so I wasn’t able to create my scheduled DT projects with it. Long story short, I ended up purchasing the entire kit myself after the fact and I’ve been anxious to create with it because it contains some really pretty things!

I cut a 5-1/4″ square side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Patriot Blue cardstock. Using one of the smaller dies in the Love From Lizi Stitched Stitched Square Nested Cutting Dies, I cut squares from Solar White cardstock and assorted prints in the Under The Sea paper pack. Several of those were cut in half diagonally and then adhered to a square piece of copy paper in a star pattern. I then ran the piece through my Big Shot with a WRMK Geometric embossing folder to give it more of a quilted look.

I cut a tag from Solar White cardstock using a Keep It Simple KIS Cuts Tags #1 Die and then stamped a sentiment from the Love From Lizi Under The Sea Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I adhered this to the center of the quilted star and added a resin starfish embellishment from the Under The Sea kit along with a piece of Lawn Fawn White Hemp Twine tied in a bow, which completed the card front. I actually cut enough pieces from additional prints in the paper pack to make a second card which I will share soon, so stay tuned!

I cut the inside panel from Solar White and embellished it with a strip of paper from the Under The Sea kit used on the front. I stamped an additional sentiment from the Under The Sea Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black ink and layered the panel on the Patriot Blue cardstock. The final touch was adding an Under The Sea shell die cut.
