With Deepest Sympathy

Hey everybody, Happy Wednesday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a tone-on-tone sympathy card (with just a pop of color) which features the Honey Bee Bold Background: Chinoiserie Dies, Lovely Layers: Butterflies Dies and Heartfelt Condolences Stamps and Dies. Sympathy cards don’t come easy for most crafters but it sure helps to have beautiful products on hand to reflect the occasion. I feel like this card would make the recipient feel the love and power of prayer.

I cut the card base and two of each of the focal die cut elements (using the Honey Bee Bold Background: Chinoiserie Dies and Lovely Layers: Butterflies Dies) from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock. I layered both of the background die cuts on top of each other and then popped up the florals on thin foam squares, all for varying degrees of dimension.

I colored the butterflies with Copic Ciao alcohol markers and then added some Ranger antique linen distress spritz for a little shimmer. I stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Heartfelt Condolences Stamps in Versafine Onyx Black ink, cut it with the coordinating Heartfelt Condolences Die, and popped it up on thin foam squares. The finishing touch was adding a few iridescent gemstones.

I cut both inside panels from 80# Solar White cardstock and ran the Cadmium Yellow alcohol marker around the edge of the larger panel to simulate colored cardstock. I stamped another sentiment from the Heartfelt Condolences Stamps in the Versafine Onyx Black ink and added the remaining butterfly. How about that hack for getting an exact match of ink without using colored cardstock?!

Hey everybody, Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a pretty thank you card featuring the Altenew Enchanted Roses Stamps and Dies. This card might be clean and simple but it’s mighty and sure packs a punch. I always love and appreciate the amazing details Altenew puts into their products, and the versatility of these stamps would make this card SO easy to mass produce in lots of yummy colors!

I started by cutting the card base from CutCardStock Smooth 100# White cardstock. I stamped the entire image from the Altenew Enchanted Roses Stamps on the same cardstock in Catherine Pooler Eucalyptus ink, cut it with the coordinating Altenew Enchanted Roses Die, and adhered it to the front of the card base. I stamped an additional flower from the same stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic Ciao BV02 alcohol marker. I fussy cut it and adhered to the card base over top of the image stamped in green. I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, cut it with the coordinating die, and adhered it to the upper left corner. The finishing touch was adding a few iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth 80# White cardstock along with a panel of CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock. I added an additional sentiment from the same Altenew Enchanted Roses stamp set which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and cut with the coordinating die.

Scrappy hugs,

Thank you for all that you do

Hey everybody, Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great day and you’re able to enjoy some delightful Spring weather. We’re slowly but surely getting settled into our new house in Iowa – and I know we are going to thoroughly enjoy life here! I’m thrilled to share a Scrapbook Pal DT inspiration project created with the Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom stamps, stencils and dies. This is my second go using these products and this time I created a pretty thank you card employing the ‘floating strips’ technique. Amazing products, fun technique, and pretty purple and green color combo! I say that’s a win-win!

I inked the floral images from the Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom stamps using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Lessebo White cardstock. I placed the stamped images on a MISTI Sticky Mat anchored to my Ranger-Wendy Vecchi 7″ Make Art Stay-tion with magnets and inked them using the Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom stencils along with Ranger distress inks, tiny blending tools and foams. I used peeled paint, seedless preserves and fossilized amber distress inks for this project and then cut them with the coordinating Pinkfresh Studio Kindness in Bloom dies.

I cut a top-folding card base from CutCardStock Lessebo Amethyst cardstock along with a panel from Grafix Crystal Clear Craft Plastic and assorted widths of strips from CutCardStock Lessebo Amethyst, Lessebo Aubergine, Lessebo White and Plum cardstock. I used Scor-Tape in 1/8″, 1/4″ and 1/2″ sizes to adhere the strips in a random fashion to the acetate, leaving a space between each strip. Next, I applied strips of Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam Tape on the back side of the acetate behind the strips and adhered the panel to the card base.

Finally I stamped a sentiment from the same Kindness in Bloom stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a Lessebo White cardstock scrap and trimmed it. I adhered the sentiment and florals to the card front and added several iridescent gemstones, and this completed the card front.

I cut the inside panel from Lessebo White cardstock and embellished it with leftover strips of the cardstock used on the front. I stamped an additional sentiment from the Kindness in Bloom stamp set in black ink and added a leftover floral.

Scrappy hugs,

Hello Friend

Hey everybody, has ‘Spring sprung’ where you are yet? We honestly thought Spring had arrived here until Mother Nature threw us a little more snow a couple weeks ago. We’ve had a few slightly chilly days since then and we’re hoping that was our last snowfall for the year, but who knows?! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a pretty friendship card featuring dies and stamps in the Hero Arts Blossoms & Birdsong Collection. I used the Branches & Blossoms Fancy Dies along with the Here For You Clear Stamps & Dies. I am a huge Hero Arts fan and these products carry the same upscale quality we all know and love!

Using the Hero Arts Branches & Blossoms Fancy Dies, I cut the background along with the birds, florals and leaf sprig from white cardstock and colored them with a variety of Copic Ciao alcohol markers. I love using a MISTI Sticky Mat affixed to my Ranger-Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion 7” with magnets. Keeping the die cuts in the negative spaces on the Sticky Mat allows easy coloring without them scooting all over the place.

I cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris cardstock. I adhered the background to the card front along with the birds and flowers, popping up the birds with foam strips. I added a sentiment from the Here For You Clear Stamps & Dies which I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut with the coordinating die. The finishing touch was adding a Brutus Monroe Emerald Green Flat Back Crystal to the center of each flower.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White and embellished it with the leaf sprig and a couple leftover flowers. I added another sentiment stamped from the Here For You Clear Stamps & Dies which was also stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut with the coordinating die. I added a Brutus Monroe Emerald Green Flat Back Crystal to the center of these two flowers as well. For more in-depth details, be sure to see my tutorial on the Scrapbook Pal blog.

Scrappy hugs,

It’s Your Birthday

Hey everybody, Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a fabulous week. I’m delighted to share a Scrapbook Pal DT inspiration project with you today featuring the super adorable Spellbinders Garden Buddies dies which I paired with a variety of other products that are available on the Scrapbook Pal website. I found this double decker card on Pinterest – it’s an easy one and very similar to some of the Z-fold cards I’ve made in the past.

I started by cutting all the gnome, bird and floral pieces from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and colored them with a variety of Copic Ciao alcohol markers. I assembled them and set them aside. I cut the card base and front oval from CutCardStock Coral cardstock, along with layering panels cut from a couple coordinating prints in the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Rainbow Petite Paper Pack and a couple more ovals from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock.

I laid the front, inside and back ovals side by side and added the die cut gnome, bird, and florals. I then stamped sentiments from the Hero Arts Let’s Celebrate Collection Stamps and the Let’s Celebrate Collection It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL on the panels, and assembled the card. I added a double bow fashioned from Lawn Fawn White Hemp Twine which I embellished with a Keep It Simple polymer clay white heart.

Here’s a shot of the back. This was definitely a fun one!

Scrappy hugs,

Let’s Party

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday – can you believe it’s April already?! Whoosh… time is flying! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a delightful retirement card, because who doesn’t want to party when they retire?! This card features three items from the Hero Arts Let’s Celebrate Collection. I used the Celebrate Color Layering Stencils and Celebrate Clear Stamps along with the It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL. You can’t go wrong with any occasion or color palette you choose. This collection is super versatile and off the chain!

I started by stamping the banners for the focal image (from the Hero Arts Celebrate clear stamps) on CutCardStock 100# Cougar Smooth White cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Hero Arts Celebrate Color Layering Stencils with Ranger cracked pistachio, candied apple, fossilized amber and seedless preserves distress inks. I placed the panel back into the MISTI and stamped over top of the stenciled banners in Versafine Onyx Black ink to crisp up the outlines.

I grabbed a Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White A2 Folded Card Base (sold by CutCardStock) – and I have to say these are pretty amazing! I used the Hero Arts It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL and stamped the first part of the sentiment at the top of the panel. I then added the second part of the sentiment which I die cut from CutCardStock Plum cardstock along with the outline from CutCardStock Glama Natural Translucent Vellum. I cut the focal panel with a Pinkfresh Studio Postage Edge die and adhered it to a Plum background panel and then to the card base. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and layered it on a panel of the Plum cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Hero Arts It’s Our Anniversary Stamp & Cut XL. The first part of the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, and the second part was stamped in cracked pistachio and seedless preserves distress inks for a little interest.

Scrappy hugs,

to you & yours

Hey everybody, happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m delighted to share a Scrapbook Pal DT inspiration project with you today created with the very awesome Sizzix-Tim Holtz Vault Festive Wreath Thinlits. This square card was an absolute joy to create with these dies – and if you’ve ever used any of Tim’s thinlits, you know what I’m talking about!

Using the Sizzix Yvette Interlaced Squares Framelits, I cut the 5″ square side-folding card base from American Crafts Leaf cardstock along with layering panels from CutCardStock Bright Gold Foil and coordinating prints in the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Rainbow 6×6 Paper Pack. I cut all of the wreath pieces (from the Sizzix-Tim Holtz Vault Festive Wreath Thinlits) from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and colored them with a variety of Copic Ciao alcohol markers. I really enjoyed assembling the wreath! I gave the candle flames a little shimmer with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen and added a computer-generated sentiment.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White and embellished it with leftover strips of the Lawn Fawn paper and CutCardStock gold foil used on the front. I added another computer-generated sentiment which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Wishing you everything wonderful

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! I hope your having a fabulous week! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making one of the easiest cards you’ll ever see… and I can promise you this with 100% certainty! AND with a fairly short list of supplies! This friendship card features the awesome Sizzix Creative Coordinations Radiance Stamps with Framelits which can used in any color combination and for any occasion! It’s SO versatile! I stuck with a timeless and simple B&W color combo with a pop of silver foil.

Card base was cut was CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock along with panels from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White and CutCardStock Bright Silver Foil. I stamped the large geometric image from the Sizzix Creative Coordinations Radiance Stamps with Framelits in Versafine Onyx Black ink on the Solar White panel. I trimmed it down and adhered it to the silver foil panel.

I stamped the round focal image using a stamp in the Sizzix set, cut it with the coordinating Framelit, and then stamped a sentiment from the same set. The finishing touches were adding a tiny Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings Black Hemp bow and several black gemstones from my stash.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White and embellished it with a leftover trimming from the front panel and a thin strip cut from the silver foil. I stamped a sentiment from the same Sizzix Creative Coordinations Radiance Stamps with Framelits and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base. See… I told you it was easy! ;)

Scrappy hugs,

Sending Smiles

Hey everybody! Well, we’re a little more than half-way through the month and I hope you are seeing some warmer weather where you are. Although I love Winter and the snow, I’m waiting patiently (or not) for Spring, lol! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a friendship card with a dimensional frame that features the Pinkfresh Studio Cheerful Blossoms Stamps, Stencils and Dies. I immediately fell in love with these products because – besides being florals (and who doesn’t love florals) – there are SO many occasions to use them for!

I stamped and inked the florals from the Pinkfresh Studio Cheerful Blossoms stamps on a panel of Neenah Fluorescent White Cotton cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the coordinating stencils along with peeled paint, crackling campfire, peacock feathers, fossilized amber, and vintage photo distress oxide inks. After inking, I re-stamped the florals in Versafine Onyx Black ink to darken up the outlines a bit, and then cut them apart with the coordinating dies.

I added a dimensional frame and then a stamped sentiment from the Altenew Dynamic Duo Blooming Branch Outline Stamps. I arranged all the inked florals and added a clear gemstone to the center of each flower for a little bling. Gotta have some bling! ;)

I added another inked floral and sentiment (from the same Altenew stamp set) on the inside, which completed the card.

Scrappy hugs,

Cheers from all of us

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m delighted to share a Scrapbook Pal DT inspiration project with you today. This new year card features the super fun Catherine Pooler Home Tweet Home Dies, Hero Arts Joyful Christmas Messages Hero Transfers, and the Spellbinders 3-in-1 Notched Corners Punch. Seems lately I’m enamored with birds and have made several bird-themed cards over the past couple months. These Home Tweet Home Dies are so much fun and I love how this card turned out. I like to ‘think outside the box’ occasionally, and even though the Hero Transfers are Christmas-themed, a couple of the sentiments worked really well for this new year card.

I cut a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with front and inside layering panels from 80# Solar White. Next, I cut front and inside layering panels and some embellishing strips from CutCardStock Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock. I punched all four corners of the card base and layering panels with the Spellbinders 3-in-1 Notched Corners Punch. I adhered a horizontal strip to ground the birdhouses and then added sentiments from the Hero Arts Joyful Christmas Messages Hero Transfers below the strip.

Using the Catherine Pooler Home Tweet Home Dies, I cut the birdhouse pieces in a variety of colors from the CutCardStock Lessebo line, and then assembled three houses. I added some random whimsical details with a Copic Ciao 100 Black alcohol marker and then affixed a bird brad to each house. The finishing touch was adding a few clear gemstones.

I assembled the inside panel and added an additional sentiment from the Hero Transfers.
