Hi friends, happy Saturday – I hope you’re having a great weekend so far and doing something fun! We’re expecting some rain here today so it’s a good day to be inside crafting and writing blog posts. The weirdest thing happened with this post that has me scratching my head. I vividly remember writing it (and even some of the verbiage I used) but I’ll be darned if I can find the draft. And I can’t find my list of supplies, which I typically throw away after I write the draft post. Nothing in my WordPress trash, either, so I don’t know what happened. HA! Old age, I guess, so here we go again!
I saw a photo of this fold a while back on Pinterest. It was just a plain card with no embellishments, no name, no instructions, no anything… so I decided to recreate it and I’m calling it an accordion tri-fold. I’m on a short break from my Keep It Simple design team duties and wanted to create another card with the new Boo To You Collection. I used papers, die cut pieces and an image from the cut-apart sheet, along with a print from the Mango 12×12 Collection Pack for the card base.

I cut the card base from a patterned paper in the Mango 12×12 Collection Pack, and scored it in thirds. I made two horizontal cuts into both of the right-hand panels about 1-1/2″ inward from the left and right sides and 1″ down from the top and bottom edges. Then I made three vertical score lines between the two outside score lines to create the accordion portion. I embellished the card front with die cut pieces. I cut the inside left panel from Solar White cardstock, layered it on a panel cut from a paper in the collection, and embellished it with a paper strip, a die cut sentiment and two flowers from the die cut pieces, popping one of them up on a foam square.

I layered coordinating papers on both sides of the right-hand panel, then cut an image from the cut-apart sheet and layered it on Solar White cardstock for the focal. I affixed it to the center score line by punching two 1″ scallop circles, scoring them in half, and adhering the halves side by side on the score line. The finishing touch was adding a die cut heart popped up on a foam square.

Here are a couple more shots of the card opened. I really do like how it turned out. I plan to write some instructions for my version at some point, so let me know if you’d like them.
