it’s time for a Getaway

Happy weekend, everybody! I hope you have something fun planned! I have a super sweet Keep It Simple DT inspiration project to share today–a shaped card featuring the new KIS Cuts Nested Stitched Scallop Ovals dies. Also used our stitched ovals nested dies as well as papers, stamps, dies, and die cut pieces from our Wander collection, one of my favorites. This is such a fun design that can be tailored to any occasion or holiday, and in any color combo!

The KIS Cuts Nested Stitched Scallop Ovals dies are large, so I pulled out my over-sized die cutting machine and cut the base from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White along with some layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Coral cardstock and an assortment of prints from the Wander 12×12 Collection Pack. I grabbed a sentiment from the Wander Die Cut Pieces which I adhered with foam squares. The finishing touch to the front was adding a bow fashioned from Back To Basics Mango Ribbon and several Back To Basics Mango Enamel Dots.

I cut two more half-scallops from the Coral and Solar White cardstock (using the same set of dies and my large die cutting machine) for the inside and embellished it with a strip of the striped paper used on the front. I stamped a sentiment from the Wander Collection Stamps in Catherine Pooler Sauna and Orange Peel inks (using the rock-and-roll technique), and cut it with the coordinating Wander Outline Die.

Crazy cat lady and crafting junkie! We care for 15 feline rescues and just added a Forkie pup to the tribe (Frenchie + Yorkie)! I’m addicted to stamping and love making cards, ATCs, and 3-D projects (especially paper shoes, paper purses and mini albums). I also dabble in mixed media, art journaling, altered art and custom jewelry. If you’re looking for me, I’ll either be in my studio or getting some kitty or puppy lovins! ;)
