we remember moments

Hi friends! Wow, February has literally flown by! We still have a little snow on the ground where we are in southwestern Colorado but we sure don’t mind – we love it! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! This is my last post for Just Us Girls Challenge and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time guest designing this month! I’m stoked to share my project for Photo Week #573! Loving the northern lights background – and I found a super easy way to create it! I originally planned to use distress ink to create the background but decided to use alcohol ink instead. The colors aren’t quite as vibrant but the black cityscape die cut sure pops!

And here is our photo prompt:

I created a standard A2 size landscape top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with a silver foil layering panel and a Yupo paper panel for the background. I dropped eggplant, cranberry, sailboat blue, aqua and lettuce alcohol inks onto the Yupo paper and then squirted alcohol blending solution across the top of the panel and let the blended inks run downward onto a paper towel. While the panel dried, I cut one black and one yellow cityscape. I adhered the black cityscape die cut to the bottom of the panel and then adhered the panel to the silver foil cardstock layer. I adhered all the windows from the yellow die cut into the negative spaces on the black die cut and stamped the sentiment in black StazOn ink. Once the StazOn was dry, I adhered the panel to the card base and added three tiny iridescent gemstones.

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and adhered light blue cardstock strips (cut from scraps) and a black cardstock strip down the left side. I stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on silver foil cardstock.

And one more look… such a fun design that was so easy to create!

… “crap” happens.

Hi friends! Hope you had a wonderful week and you’re looking forward to something fun this weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m excited to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another DT inspiration project using the new quarantine-inspired brads in the store. The card I’m sharing today is another one in my series aimed at paying tribute to our frontline healthcare workers, but really could be given to anyone who has experienced something unpleasant. And the sentiment is so spot on – “crap” happens to all of us at one time or another but we always seem to bounce back! ;)

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from black cardstock. I printed the sentiment from a digital stamp set on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and trimmed the panel so the sentiment was in the bottom right corner. I applied a strip of Wide Music Washi Tape horizontally across the panel and then added White Pearl Bling Strip across the top and bottom of the washi tape. I added two Toilet Paper Brads to the left of the sentiment and then adhered the panel to the card base. I finished the card front with several individual pearls from the bling strip.

I created the inside sentiment on the computer, printed it on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and trimmed the panel so the sentiment was centered toward the top. I embellished the panel with a strip of the washi tape cut in half lengthwise and a narrow black strip of cardstock, and adhered the panel on the inside of the card base.

And one more look… totally love how girly this turned out! And I love both sentiments!

you color my world

Hi friends! I hope you had a great week and have something fun planned this weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m guesting this month for Just Us Girls Challenge and I’m delighted to share my project for Color Week #572 – Rainbow Colors! I’ve mentioned before that clean and simple cards have always been intimidating, but over the last year or so I’ve become more comfortable creating them. When Vicki sent me the challenge graphic, I knew immediately what I was going to create! I used stamp sets from Paper Smooches and Prickley Pear Stamps to create a CAS love-themed card featuring a shimmery rainbow with puffy clouds. How stinkin’ cute is this?!

And here is our color prompt:

I created a standard A2 top folding landscape card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I stamped the rainbow and little birds on the card base and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I added shimmer to the rainbow with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I stamped the clouds on a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock scrap, die cut them with the coordinating die and affixed them to the ends of the rainbow with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner and added two hearts stamped on a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock scrap and die cut with the coordinating die.

I kept the inside super simple with just a sentiment stamped in red and colored in with the Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, and an added black glitter alpha sticker.

And one more look… such a fun design! Sometimes less is more! ;)

I miss your face!

Hi everyone! A very Happy Saturday to you! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m thrilled to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! We were gifted some pretty cool quarantine-inspired brads that are new in the store, and all the designers on the team have been creating some pretty amazing stuff, so be sure to check them out! I have been slowly migrating toward CAS for a while now and I made a series of clean and simple cards using these new brads as a way to pay tribute to our frontline healthcare workers during this pandemic. Hopefully we will see an end to this soon.

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from black cardstock. I created the front sentiment on the computer so I printed it on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock and trimmed the panel so that the sentiment was in the lower right corner. I embellished the panel with two strips of silver Glitter Skinny Washi Tape spaced a short distance apart with a narrow strip of black cardstock adhered between them slightly offset to the right. Using a Hero Arts stamp set, I stamped the face just above the sentiment and added a Mask Brad. I added three randomly placed Black Enamel Dots to the background and adhered the panel to the front of the card base.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the silver glitter skinny washi tape and a narrow strip of black cardstock, stamped the sentiment in black ink and adhered the panel to the inside of the card base.

And one more look… really happy with how this turned out! As I’ve said many times, sometimes less is more! And this image really reminds me of Audrey Hepburn back in her younger years!

2/18/21 Top 3 at Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog!

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a fantastic day! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m super stoked to share that I’ve been invited by the awesome Vicki Dutcher to be a February guest designer for Just Us Girls Challenge! My first project is a Valentine for Word Week #570. This card features a variety of die cuts and a handmade Foamiran flower!

And here’s our word prompt:

I learned how to make Foamiran flowers a while back and have only made a few. They are quite fun, I have to say! This card design is similar to one I made for another design team which features the very first Foamiran flower I made. I work ahead so you’ll see that card in several months. I used a different flower die for this flower and made this one in a different color. I die cut the leaves from green cardstock and DTP-inked the edges with mowed lawn distress ink. I adhered the leaves to a 3/4″ punched circle and then adhered the completed flower on top of that which makes it easier to adhere to the card front.

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from CutCardStock Royal Sundance Felt Natural cardstock along with a couple Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock layering panels, one for the front and one for the inside, and a tiny Valentine card. I layered the front panel on CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Burgundy cardstock and then cut a layering panel for the inside and die cut a tiny envelope for my tiny Valentine card. I cut a scrap of patterned paper to die cut the tiny envelope flap liner and assembled the envelope. I die cut the connected oval and adhered it to the panel, then adhered the flower and the tiny envelope.

I stamped the row of hearts and the sentiment in dark pink ink on the tiny Valentine card, and adhered it on top of the envelope with foam dimensionals. The finishing touch was adding tiny iridescent gemstones to the hearts on the tiny Valentine card and three slightly larger iridescent gemstones to the upper left corner.

I die cut a vertical row of dimensional hearts into the inside panel and added a narrow strip of the burgundy linen cardstock. I stamped the Valentine sentiment in pink ink and layered the panel on the burgundy linen cardstock.

And one more look… totally smitten with this! And I have a good idea who will receive it! ;)

Advice from a sunflower

Happy Saturday, friends! Hope you’re having a great weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’m excited to be back on the Eyelet Outlet blog today with another awesome DT inspiration project! I created a pretty CAS ‘thinking of you’ card featuring several awesome products – but the main attraction on this card is the sunflowers! I love all kinds of flowers but I would have to say that the sunflower is my favorite!

I rounded one bottom corner of my Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock card base to add a little interest. I adhered a small piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the front panel, added a strip of Wood Washi Tape and layered the panel on dark brown cardstock. I added a die cut stem and several Sunflower Brads, and adhered the layered panel to the card base. I die cut a digital sentiment and popped it up on foam pieces for a little dimension. The final touch was the addition of several small Ivory Enamel Dots.

I printed a small sunflower from the digital set on Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock for the inside and trimmed the panel with the sunflower in the lower right corner. I colored the small sunflower with alcohol markers and embellished the panel with strips of the patterned paper and dark brown cardstock, and stamped the sentiment in brown ink.

One last look… so loving how this turned out!

Congratulations!

Hi everyone! I’m back with another post today to share a fun congratulations card I made for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge! I’ve actually got several other projects going on in my studio and I didn’t want to forget to share this one before the challenge ends, lol! I’ve been known to do that because of the way this old brain works! ;) Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! Cute As A Button Digital Stamps is the sponsor for this challenge, and the challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist thrown in to inspire participants. This time the optional twist is Buttons (real or faux). So I used three stamped and die cut buttons that I had in my doo-dad bowl (yes, I have one of those, lol!) that I made a few weeks back for another design team project and decided at the last minute not to use them. I knew they’d come in handy! ;)

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I had a printed digital paper pack out on my desk from the last card I posted and decided on a blue/green pattern for this card which I paired with CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Midnight cardstock and CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Emerald cardstock from my stash. I layered some angled cuts which complemented the buttons very well, I thought. Super simple but very effective CAS design. ;)

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and continued the angled design with the digital paper and a strip of CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Emerald cardstock, stamped a sentiment and layered the panel on the CutCardStock Royal Sundance Linen Midnight cardstock.

And one more peek… totally in love with this design! The optional button twist for this challenge just fell right into place!

I’ll be gnome for Christmas!

Hi everyone! I hope your week has started off well and you had a nice restful weekend! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I’ve stopped in to share a card I created for The Outlawz Festive Fridays Challenge! Our sponsor is Hetty Clare and the themes we’ve been given to choose from are Thank You, Birthday, Special Occasion or Christmas. I chose Christmas this time because I have a super adorable Christmas gnome rubber stamp that has been calling my name! I sure do love me some gnomes!

I created a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, rounded the bottom right corner and applied several strips of washi tape to the background. I stamped the gnome in black ink on a small panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers and layered it on red cardstock. I adhered the image to the card base and stamped the sentiment beneath it in black ink.

I kept the inside fairly simple by adding a strip of washi tape to the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock panel, stamping the sentiment in black ink and layering the panel on red cardstock.

And one more peek… totally loving this Christmas gnome dude! ;)

we make a great pear

Hi friends! I’m back this afternoon with one more card for The Outlawz Challenges! This one is for the Monday Greetings Challenge where our sponsor is The Paper Nest Dolls and the theme is Hearts. Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created an adorable and pun-y CAS anniversary card for the hubby later this year (wink-wink)! I wanted to go ahead and get this card posted because I may not be around much for the next couple days as he is having gallbladder surgery early Wednesday morning. We’ll be traveling across the state tomorrow to a hospital with a well-equipped ICU (just in case) since he’s high-risk. We’re praying for a good outcome without any issues, and if you are the praying type, we sure would appreciate one!

I created my typical A2 size top-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and rounded the right bottom corner, then stamped the pears and hearts on scraps of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies. I layered two green stitched ric rac die cuts across the bottom of the card base, arranged the pears and heart, and stamped the sentiment in green ink.

I kept the inside super simple with just a stamped sentiment. ;)

And one more look… OMG, how stinkin’ cute is this?! You’ll definitely be seeing more projects using these awesome stamps and dies! I LOVE them!

Dude!

2/8/21 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Hubby had a doctor appointment this morning and then we ran a few errands, so we are just now getting home. Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I have a fun CAS card to share that I made yesterday for The Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge. ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ is the rhyme for the new challenge that started yesterday so let me introduce to you my star struck chicken! This image is from Sherry West Art who is our sponsor this time! I did LOL (literally) a few times while making this card! I don’t even know the name of this image – it was a freebie in Sherry’s Facebook Group – but isn’t it a hoot?!

I created a standard A2 size side-folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I printed the image on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock as well and colored it with alcohol markers, trimmed it and layered it on yellow cardstock and then black. I stamped the sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Hey Ostrich stamp set in black ink and added some stars to fit the theme for the challenge. I lucked out having this awesome stamp set in my stash with sentiments that go so well with this chicken image!

I cut the inside panel from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and embellished it with strips of black and yellow cardstock, stamped the sentiment and layered the panel on yellow cardstock.

And one more look… how hilarious! Love how this turned out!
