Happy Holidays

Hey everybody, happy weekend – I hope you’re having a good one! It’s Christmas in July all over the place! I’m delighted to share a Brutus Monroe DT inspiration project featuring the beautiful Wooded Gathering and Good Tidings stamp sets which I paired with Gingerbread and Scarlet cardstock along with patterned papers from the Winter Wings and Love Letters paper collections. I also used the Lace Layers dies and some Red Shift Flat Back Crystals to bring this card to life. This tented easel card is on my (long) list of all-time favorite fun folds and I’ve made quite a few of them over the years. I love that it showcases large stamps so beautifully.

I cut the card base from Gingerbread cardstock along with layering panels from prints in the Winter Wings and Love Letters paper collections. I stamped the large image from the Wooded Gathering stamp set in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink on CutCardStock Baronial Ivory cardstock and then spritzed it with Ornament Gold Chroma Mist.

I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set in brown ink vertically on the left side of the focal image, and then added an edge from a Lace Layers die cut which I cut from Scarlet cardstock. I also stamped a sentiment from the Good Tidings stamp set and layered it on a Lace Layers die cut, also cut from the Scarlet cardstock. I adhered this to the bottom panel, popped up on a foam strip, which was the stopper to aid the card in standing for display.

I cut the inside panel from Baronial Ivory cardstock and embellished it with a leftover patterned paper strip. I stamped another sentiment in brown ink from the same Wooded Gathering stamp set and layered the panel on Scarlet cardstock. I’ve also included an angled shot so you can see the cool construction.

Best Friends Forever

Hey everybody, Happy Hump Day! I hope you’re having a good week. I’m up on the Love From Lizi blog today with a tutorial for making a double flap fun fold featuring our Happy Days papers, Best Friends Forever stamps, and yellow pinstripe and black mini heart peel-offs – all from our July release. I also used an additional stamp set, a couple die sets and some gemstones from the store to make this card come to life. There seem to be quite a few versions of the double flap fun fold out there but this one is my favorite.

I cut the card base and second flap element from 12×12 Cardstock Shop Lead Encore Textured cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Happy Days 6×6 Patterned Paper Pack. I also cut two labels (using the Stitched Label Nested Cutting Dies) from 12×12 Cardstock Shop Pink Champagne Encore Textured cardstock. Next I cut two circles (using the Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies) from 80# Solar White and one from the Lead cardstock. I added several white gemstones from the Tropical Escapes Mix Size Gems.

I stamped a sentiment and images from the Best Friends Forever stamp set in Catherine Pooler Black Jack and Twilight inks, and partially colored the images with a Blush Copic Ciao alcohol marker. I embellished the striped panel on the front of the second flap with Yellow Pinstripe and Black Mini Heart Peel-Offs.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the dotted patterned paper from the Happy Days paper pack. I stamped a sentiment from the Simply Amazing stamp set and layered the panel inside the second flap. If you want more details, be sure to see my tutorial on the Love From Lizi blog! ;)

Curled in Happiness

Hey everybody, a very happy Wednesday to you! We’re already a week into July… what happened to June, lol?! I’m up on the Scrapbook Pal blog today sharing a tutorial for making a hedgehog friendship card featuring the Gina K Designs Hedgehogs in Happiness Stamp & Die Bundle. If you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of fun folds. Everywhere I turn, I see another one I want to try! There are at least three versions of the corner fold card out there that I’ve seen, and when I got these adorable hedgehog stamps and dies in my hands, I knew I had to use them for this particular card.

I cut the folded portion of the card base (main element) and a couple smaller panels from Stampin’ Up Color Me Autumn DSP. I cut the flat card base and two additional panels from CutCardStock Basis Dark Orange cardstock and the front panel from Neenah Classic Crest Baronial Ivory and CutCardStock Pop Tone Jellybean Green cardstock. The images and sentiments are from the new Gina K Designs Hedgehogs in Happiness Stamp & Die Bundle. I colored the images with Copic Ciao alcohol markers and cut them with the coordinating dies.

you make me sew happy

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday – I hope you had a great Fourth of July weekend and were able to have some fun without getting too hot and sweaty, lol! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today featuring our new KIS Cuts Sewing Machine dies! OMGoodness, you know how I love me some shaped cards and I really had a blast putting this together! I also used stamps, dies and die cut pieces from our new Cheerful Cottage collection along with several colors of patterned papers from our Back To Basics 6×9 Collection Packs.

Using the main die in the KIS Cuts Sewing Machine die set, I cut a top folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock by sliding the top edge of the die just above the folded edge of the cardstock. Then I cut all the decorative elements from prints in our Back To Basics Lilac, Rose, Lemon, Jade and Kraft 6×9 Collection Packs (with an extra set of Rose colored flowers for the inside).

Using the Cheerful Cottage Collection Stamps, I stamped the front sentiment and an inside embellishment in Versafine Onyx Black ink on CutCardStock Natural Translucent Vellum. I heat embossed them with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and cut them with the coordinating Cheerful Cottage Outline Dies. Of course, as I always say, the assembly was the most fun!

Using the same main die from the set, I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with the extra set of flowers and the stamped, embossed and die cut element. I used a sentiment from the Cheerful Cottage Die Cut Pieces, and the card was done. I LOVE how this turned out!

Home Sweet Home

Hello, my friends – I hope this new month has started off on a nice note for you. It’s been warm and humid here, but all in all, life is pretty darn good. We didn’t have much humidity out in Colorado so it’s taking a little bit to get used to it again. After all, I did live in Florida for 45 years, so the humidity really is nothing new. I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today, created with papers and die cut pieces from our new Cheerful Cottage collection. This faux pull-tab card is such a unique and fun design, and I think it really worked well with these products.

I cut the card base and faux pull-tab panel from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Cheerful Cottage 12×12 Collection Pack. I used a Stampin’ Up 1-1/4″ circle punch to punch a notch in the left side of the pull-tab panel and then tied some Back To Basics Teal Ribbon around it before adhering it to the card base. Using the Back To Basics Stitched Circles Nested Dies, I cut a circular frame from CutCardStock gold Glitter cardstock and popped it up on thin 3D foam squares. I added several more die cuts from the Cheerful Cottage Die Cut Pieces (one being a sentiment) and finished off the front with a few Back To Basics Rose Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of paper used on the front and a narrow strip cut from CutCardStock Basis Soft Pink cardstock. I added another sentiment die cut from the Cheerful Cottage collection and layered the panel on the soft pink cardstock.

Get Well gate fold

Hi friends, I’m back with my second post of the day. The weeks sure do seem to fly by quickly these days! It’ll be Christmas before we know it… we are officially past the halfway mark of 2025. Yep, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. I’m delighted to share an inspiration project for Brutus Monroe today where I combined the mini slimline size with the gate fold design and came up with a pretty get well card. This card features the amazing Heart Hands Cutting dies which are absolutely perfect for this design. I paired this die set with panels of Pink Lemonade, Sea, and Not Your Mamas Cardstock along with some Spring Splatter Paper. I also used our timeless (and my favorite) Super Sentimental Stamp Set and some Light Pink Flat Back Crystals.

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline landscape gate fold card base from Pink Lemonade cardstock along with layering panels from a print in the Spring Splatter 6×6 paper collection. Using the Heart Hands Cutting Dies, I cut the hands, fingernails and heart from Not Your Mamas cardstock and colored them with Copic Ciao alcohol markers.

I added some shimmer to the fingernails with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen which I topped with some Ranger Glossy Accents. The heart cut a bunch of tiny strips which I backed on a scrap of the white cardstock and then inked the edges with Alabaster ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Super Sentimental stamp set in Raven ink and added a small disc magnet to keep the card closed.

I embellished the inside white cardstock panel with a strip of the patterned paper used on the front. I stamped another sentiment from the Super Sentimental stamp set in Raven ink, colored the heart red, and layered the panel on Sea cardstock.

Hey everybody, happy Friday! If you’re in the States, I hope you’re having a wonderful July 4th holiday and you’re looking forward to lots of fun this long weekend! Our new challenge is live this morning over at Creative Creases Challenge and I’m delighted to share my DT inspiration project for Challenge #105. I am an absolute FIEND when it comes to fun folds. What’s wrong with me?! I don’t even care about making a normal A2 card anymore. This tri-fold hidden door fun fold is a delight to make and really packs a punch. This is the second one of these I’ve made – I saw it on Pinterest a while back and it led me to several different videos so it’s an easy one to find.

I cut the card base and flaps from CutCardStock Lessebo Blossom Pink cardstock along with layering panels from coordinating prints in the Melissa Frances 5th Avenue 6×6 paper pad and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I used stamps from the Stampin’ Up Hand-Penned Petals and Charming Sentiments stamp sets along with the coordinating dies. These images and sentiments were stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink, Catherine Poole Mint To Be and Pixie Dust inks, and Memento Angel Pink and Bamboo Leaves inks. I added a little bow made from Keep It Simple Back To Basics Jade Ribbon, tied with my little wooden bow maker.

I embellished all the panels with either stamped or die cut florals. Totally LOVE how this turned out! It’s a fun one that you know you need to try! ;)

Happy Birthday Hat

7/5/25 Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hey everybody, Happy Thursday – I hope you’re having a great week! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a super cute birthday card that looks like a hat! I have a friend who uses ordinary stand-alone dies to make fun and creative cards and I challenged myself to do the same. I used our Lessebo Brick Orange, Silk Glitter Opulent Opal, and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. You are going to love how easy this card is to create!

I totally love the Love From Lizi shaped die sets because there are a HUGE number of dies in them which makes layering super easy. Using the largest die in the Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies, I cut the card base from Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock. Using the second largest die in the set, I cut a layering panel for the brim from an orange floral paper in the Doodlebug Design Floral-Graph Rainbow Petite Prints 6×6 paper pad.

I pulled out the Love From Lizi Stitched Oval Nested Cutting Dies and cut two ovals (the same size, using the 8th largest die in the set) for the top of the hat. I used the Scrapbook.com Bow Toppers Dies to cut several bows from our Silk Glitter Opulent Opal and Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock which I layered together for stability. The reason I cut several bow is because I initially couldn’t decide which one I wanted to use, so I gave myself some choices, lol!

I used the My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 3 stamp set (one of my all-time favorites) for the sentiment which I stamped in Catherine Pooler Orange Peel ink. I added some iridescent gemstones colored with a YR16 Copic Ciao alcohol marker.

Using the second largest die in the Love From Lizi Stitched Circle Nested Cutting Dies, I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White cardstock and cut it in half. I embellished it with a narrow strip of the floral paper used on the front and stamped another sentiment from that awesome My Favorite Things stamp set. Adventure mini album

6/28/25 Weekly Favorite at Splitcoast Stampers!

Hey everybody, happy Saturday – can you even believe it’s the last Saturday of June? Blows my mind! I’m excited to share a tag mini album for Keep It Simple that I created with our new Gift Card Pocket Die. OMG, the possibilities are literally endless with this… so much fun in one lil package! I paired it with our fairly new KIS Cuts Circular Pop-Up Square Dies, KIS Cuts Tags #1, and papers, stamps, dies and die cut pieces from our new Wander Collection. Oh, and stamps from our Lumberjack Collection, too! This was definitely a fun project!

Using our KIS Cuts Circular Pop-Up Square Dies, I cut two sections for the mini album base from CutCardStock Lessebo Blossom Pink cardstock and then four pockets from CutCardStock Flamingo cardstock using the new KIS Cuts Gift Card Pocket Die. I stamped an image and sentiment for the front using stamps from our Wander Collection, colored the image with an assortment of markers, and then cut it with the coordinating Wander Outline Dies. I wrapped the mini album with some Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings White Hemp Twine and tied it in a bow prior to adhering the image (popped up on foam squares) and sentiment to the front.

I cut four tags (using our KIS Cuts Tags #1 Dies) from several prints in the Wander 6×9 Collection Pack, shortening them a bit so they’d fit the pockets. This is super easy to do by cutting the full size tag first, then sliding the die upward from the bottom to cut off the desired amount and running it back through the Big Shot. I gathered an assortment of Wander Die Cut Pieces to embellish the pockets. I stamped images and sentiments for each tag (from the Wander and Lumberjack Collection Stamps), colored the images with markers, and cut them with the coordinating Outline Dies. The final step was tying Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings White Hemp Twine to the top of each tag.

Here’s a shot of the back of each tag which I backed with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and leftover pieces of matching prints used on the front of each one.

It’s a Pirate Party

Hi friends, happy Fri-YAY! Every day is like Friday when you’re retired! I’m delighted to share a Brutus Monroe DT inspiration project today featuring stamped, embossed and die cut images and sentiments from our Pirate Party Stamp and Die Bundle. The illusion of sea water was achieved by spritzing panels of Perfect Blend Cardstock with Tinsel Blue, Peacock and Wheat Chroma Mists which I combined with panels cut from Not Your Mamas Cardstock and Vintage Plaid Papers. This triple cube card is one of my absolute favorite fun folds of all time and I always enjoy putting them together.

I cut the card base and cube panels from Midnight cardstock along with layering panels from Perfect Blend cardstock, Not Your Mamas cardstock and Vintage Plaid paper. I spritzed the Perfect Blend cardstock with Tinsel Blue, Peacock and Wheat Chroma Mists to achieve the look of sea water. I stamped a couple sentiments and a variety of images from the Pirate Party Stamp and Die Bundle in our Raven ink and once again in our Clear Embossing ink, then heat embossed them in our Icicle Embossing Powder.

I colored the images with Karin Brushmarker Pro markers and then cut them with the coordinating dies. I created a mechanism for the front sentiment using a 3/4″ circle punch. As with all projects like this, the assembly is always the most fun, and this was no exception. It was delightful watching it come to life! The finishing touch on the front was adding several of our Violet Shift Flat Back Crystals.

I cut a couple panels from the back from Perfect Blend cardstock and adhered another couple images and a sentiment, which completed the card. How stinkin’ fun is this?!
