Howdy again, peeps! I’ve popped in with my last card to share today that I created for The Outlawz Challenges. This one is for the Tuesday Color Challenge where our sponsor this month is Sherry West Art. We were shown a graphic with some gorgeous warm color swatches and a photo, and challenged to use three of the five colors on our project with a twist of adding a flower or flowers. I think I nailed this one, lol!

I used four of the colors with a cluster of three stamped and layered flowers as my focal point. I wasn’t ‘feeling’ this card in the beginning and left my studio to do some other things around the house. When I went back to it a couple hours later, I saw it in a whole different light and it flourished! Sometimes you just have to walk away and re-visit later.

I used one of my all-time favorite stamp sets with coordinating dies to create the flowers. I dug into my cardstock and found four colors that pretty closely match those in the graphic, using the first three colors for the flowers and the fourth color for the background. I die cut two of the ‘celebrate’ sentiments and layered the darker one beneath the lighter one. I added some cork tape across the bottom and finished the front with Crystal Drops.

I embellished the inside panel with a strip of the darkest color cardstock used for the flowers and stamped the sentiment in the same color ink, and then layered the panel on the middle color cardstock used for the flowers.

One more peek… loving how this turned out despite the difficulty I had initially. It really is a simple design!

it’s a boy

Hi everyone! I’M BAAAAACK… with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges! This one is for the Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge and our sponsor this month is The Paper Nest Dolls. The part of the rhyme I focused on this time was the title “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” so I used the Elisabeth Bell ‘Teddy Bear’ digital image to create a baby boy card.

I colored the image with Nuvo alcohol markers, cut it with a stitched mini scallop die and stamped the sentiment in green ink. I kept this hybrid design pretty simple and went with a green and yellow color combo, suitable for a little man. I DTP-inked the green dotted ‘resist’ paper which I paired with textured yellow cardstock. I punched several hearts from red cardstock and finished the front with some green Dot Sparklers.

I embellished the inside panel with leftover paper and cardstock used on the front, as well as a punched heart, and stamped the sentiment in green ink.

And one more look… love how this turned out!

You are Mer-mazing

Howdy, friends! This week is almost to the end… where is the time going?! I can’t believe we’re in the middle of May already! I’ve popped in with a card I created for The Outlawz Challenges. I have a couple more to share in a little while, so stay tuned! This cute hybrid thank you card is for the May Progressive Freebie Challenge. Our sponsor this month is Elena Zinski Art and we were provided the most adorable Amelia Mermaid digital image to create with. Have I mentioned that the perk for playing in this challenge each month is a free digital image?! ;)

Using the pre-colored version of this image, I kept with a blue color scheme which seemed perfect for a mermaid. I alternated teal and blue glitter Washi Tape across a blue digital paper background and then adhered it to the card base. I cut the image with a stitched rectangle die, adhered it to the front and stamped the sentiment beneath it in blue archival ink. I added Glossy Accents to her sunglasses and finished the front with sparkly blue bling.

I embellished the inside panel with a leftover piece of the blue digital paper used on the front and stamped the sentiment in the blue archival ink.

And one more peek… loving how this turned out! Isn’t she just the sassiest thing ever?!

Thank You So Much (set of 4)

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having some beautiful Spring weather where you are! I’m stoked to be back on the CutCardStock blog today with an awesome DT inspiration project featuring Basis cardstock that was included in our Designer’s Pack! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you. I really appreciate your support! I created a pretty set of four 4-1/4″ square thank you cards that would be a delightful addition to anyone’s stash!

These cards were quick and easy – my favorite kind, lol! I worked in an assembly-line fashion, cutting all the card bases and front layering panels from Basis Grey cardstock, Basis Green cardstock, Basis Light Yellow cardstock and Basis Teal cardstock. Then I cut four slightly larger layering panels, four 3/4″ strips to go across the card fronts and four plain inside panels from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory cardstock. I adhered the layering panels together, leaving just a tad of the ivory cardstock showing. I applied 5/8″ floral Washi Tape to the strips and adhered the strips horizontally across the layering panels. I stamped the sentiment four times and punched each with a circle punch, then layered each one on a slightly larger circle punched from the same colored cardstock.

The inside panel is the same for each card, consisting of an ivory square embellished with a piece of floral Washi Tape and a sentiment stamped in black ink.

Get Well Soon

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a fantastic week! Our new challenge is live over at Southern Girls Challenge and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you today! As always, the theme for our challenge is Anything Goes and we’d love to see what you create! Our sponsors this time are I Am Roses, Stamper’s Delights and Your Next Stamp. I was provided the adorable Chibi Get Well digi set from Stamper’s Delights and created a get well card… I never seem to have enough of them in my stash!

I created the background panel on my computer with repetitive ‘get well soon’ text in cheerful rainbow colors. I printed the Chibi three times, colored one of them with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and then adhered the other two on the back of the colored one which created some nice dimension. I ran a Memento Tuxedo Black marker around the edge for a finished look. I trimmed the sentiment panel, layered it on green double-sided textured cardstock and adhered it to the left side of the background panel, and then adhered the Chibi image. I finished the front with some purple Queen & Co. Bubbles.

I created the sentiment for the inside panel on the computer, trimmed it and embellished the panel with leftover strips of double-sided textured cardstock used on the front (one side is a lighter green and the other side is a darker green).

One more look… loving how this turned out! She’s so stinkin’ cute and sure to cheer up a sick person!

Christmas Truck Treat Box

Hi everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start and you’re seeing some lovely Spring weather! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a sweet Christmas truck treat box created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Red Truck Treat Box cut file. Can you say adorable?! This is so stinkin’ cute, I can’t stand it! ;)

This is another one of Sandy’s amazing cut files with super simple construction. There’s not a long list of supplies, either… just a few colors of cardstock and some good glue! I use ScraPerfect Best Glue Ever on all my projects.

I drew some tree lines on both sides of the tree with a light gray Spectrum Noir alcohol marker. I LOVE how this turned out and can’t wait for Christmas! ;)

Artist Inspiration Coins

5/17/20 Rising Star at A Place To Start!

Hi friends! Happy Monday! I have an awesome set of three gold embossed artist trading coins to share with you today, in full color with amazing inspirational quotes!

Using a large background stamp, I arranged all three punched circles on my stamp positioner, stamped them in Versamark and then heat embossed them in gold. I colored the coins with bright fine-tip markers and then adhered each to a second punched circle. I ran a gold paint pen around the edge of each coin to give them a nice finished look. I selected three gold metallic quotation stickers and adhered them to two layers of cardstock, then added one to each coin. Here are close-ups of the coins:

One more peek at the set… loving how these turned out, and yes, they are an amazing addition to my collection!

Happy Anniversary

5/22/20 Top 3 Winner at Alphabet Challenge Blog!

Howdy again! I’m back with one more post this morning before I jump in the shower and get my day started. Well… step into the shower… don’t need to chance breaking a hip by jumping in, lol! I’m playing again at The Outlawz Challenges and this card I’m sharing is for the Wednesday Sketch Challenge where Jan’s Digi Stamps has been our sponsor for the past month and everyone has been playing with this sketch for the past two weeks:

I created a hybrid anniversary card featuring Jan’s Succulent Bouquet digital stamp set. OMGoodness, I just L-O-V-E her images and this one looks so pretty against the blue pearlized cardstock and blue and white gingham paper!

Really loving the soft look of this design. I used one of my favorite paper pads containing gingham paper. I used a stitched mini scallop circle die to cut the image which I adhered on a hand-cut flag made from the blue pearlized cardstock that I used to layer the gingham paper on. I used a small bow die to cut two bows that I layered on top of one another for a little dimension, and added an iridescent gemstone to the center. I stamped the sentiment directly on the flag beneath the focal image. Since the cardstock was pearlized, I used StazOn ink and then applied the Perfect Crafting Pouch to dry up any wet ink so I could keep crafting without having to stop to let the ink dry.

I decorated the inside panel with the gingham paper layered on the blue pearlized cardstock, along with a slightly larger stitched mini scallop circle die cut on which I stamped the inside sentiment.

One more peek… really loving how this turned out and it’ll go to a very special couple later on this year! ;)

Fish whisperer

Hi everyone! I’m back on this fine Saturday morning with another card I created for The Outlawz Challenges. This one is for the Festive Fridays Challenge where Bugaboo is our sponsor this month and we have four themes to choose from – Christmas, Male Birthday, Mother’s Day or Sympathy. I chose Male Birthday. My hubby’s birthday is next month and he’ll be the “big six-oh” – and yeah, I’m a cradle robber… what can I say?! And I keep designing all these great cards for him – yep, about seven so far – so he’ll have some good ones to open, lol!

I LOL’d, literally, the entire time I was putting this together… from the image to the front sentiment to the inside sentiment. Funny, funny, funny! I used the Gus Fish Whisperer digital image from my stash along with the sentiments. My husband is a ‘cat whisperer’ (we have nine feline fur babies) so he might as well add ‘fish whisperer’ to his repertoire, lol! I colored him with Nuvo and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added a fish brad and some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to his glasses for a little texture.

And here’s where the fun comes in. Well, more fun. I printed the inside sentiment large – for old person ‘large print reading’ purposes and for old person ‘yelling speaking’ purposes. Bahahaha! Then I stamped a fun Hero Arts sentiment beneath it. Love, love, love!

And one more look… OMG, I can’t stand it! So fun! He’s going to love it! ;)

oops!

Hi friends! Happy Saturday – hope you have an awesome weekend planned! Even though social distancing is being lifted in some areas, the hubs and I are still #alonetogether. We are homebodies anyway, so the social distancing thing hasn’t been difficult for us. Our prayers go out, though, to those all over the world who have been affected by this pandemic. I’ve popped in this morning with a fun Christmas card to share for The Outlawz Challenges. I’m playing in the Monday Greetings Challenge where our sponsor this month has been The Paper Shelter and we were challenged to use plaids this time.

I used the super cute pre-colored What A Mess digi from my stash to create this card, keeping the overall design fairly simple. I created the sentiment on my computer and made a layered flag out of it which I adhered across the box… and “OOPS” is definitely the right word for this mess, lol! I added a red Dot Sparkler in each corner for just a hint of bling.

The fun thing about The Paper Shelter is that they include background papers with their digital images that you can use with the main image – or not. I chose the use the background paper in this set on the inside panel with a sentiment that I created on the computer.

And one more peek… loving how this turned out! The Christmas plaid is awesome and really compliments this image!
