Hi everyone! I’m having a hard time with how fast this year is flying by… it’s July 1st already – how did that happen?! It’s time for another fun technique challenge over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog and I’m really excited to share my mixed media friendship card for MIUCB #3 – Anything Goes + Distressing. Our challenges always have an optional technique twist to get you inspired! The distressing – if you decide to include it – can be ink or tool. I did a little of both on my project! :)

Leslie

I had the best time picking out the papers and ephemera I wanted to use. I also got a piece of black ric-rac, an index clip and a doily. I distressed each paper piece with either Black Soot distress ink or tool (or both), then did a ‘dry run’ with all the layers.

2017_06210002a

Once I had everything where I wanted, I started adhering the pieces, some with dimensional foam tape and some without, then adhered the entire piece to the card base. I added some black Twinkle Goosebumps and a few dots of Mustard Seed Crystal Drops.

2017_06210003a

The last step involved splattering black Gesso mixed with water, and when that dried, I added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins (my favorite!).

2017_06210004a

I decorated the inside panel with leftover strips of paper from the front, all distressed as well, and then stamped the sentiment and a bee. Love, love, love!

CAS Coffee

Hello, my crafty friends! I’m back with another post on this fine Friday to share another coffee-themed project I created for the Summer Coffee Lover’s Bloghop!

13130832_10209657747231052_7266796962897251339_o

a2z Scrapbooking is once again a Super Sponsor! I’m really stoked to create a project using a Hero Arts image as I’m a new DT member and will begin creating with this amazing team on July 1st! There are tons of sponsors for this hop, and all of them are offering amazing prizes!

I created a fun CAS note card using the Hero Arts Caffeine Fix Coffee and Latte Digital Kit. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to try to make cards with less dimension, and I’ve been doing pretty well… I love me some layers and big bows so this has been a challenge, lol!

2017_06230001a

I printed the to-go cup on the card base and again on a piece of scrap cardstock along with the sentiment, then fussy cut them and used a Memento Tuxedo Black marker around the edges to get rid of any traces of the white cardstock. I colored the band and a tiny pre-tied bow with a few Spectrum Noir markers. I popped the sentiment up on some dimensional tape and finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins. Oh, and I rounded two of the corners of the card base for a little interest. :)

Stamps: Hero Arts Caffeine Fix Coffee and Latte Digital Kit
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black marker, Spectrum Noir- BT1, BT2, BT4
Accessories: Fiskars corner rounder, Pretty Pink Posh Peacock Feathers sequins

I hope you’ve enjoyed this project, and I wish you a load of good luck if you link up a project in this amazing hop! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you soon!

breakfast poured

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Hope you’ve had a great week! I’m popping in this morning to share a project I created specifically for the Summer Coffee Lover’s Bloghop! Dare 2B Artzy is a Super Sponsor again this time and I’m really excited about participating in this hop as I wasn’t able to participate in the Spring one. There are a ton of sponsors, all offering amazing prizes!

I created a fun ‘to-go’ coffee cup shaped card using Dare 2B Artzy Bright Pumpkin and Pomegranate papers, Hug in a Mug stamp set, Totally Black ink and the tiny coffee bean die from the Mug die set. This is the second coffee cup shaped card I’ve made and I’m so smitten! Fun, fun, fun! :)

2017_06130001a

The front and inside sentiments are from the Dare 2B Artzy Hug in a Mug stamp set. I cut the front sentiment with a new MFT Stitched Mini Scalloped Rectangles die and embellished it with several tiny flat-back pearls. Love my stitched dies!

2017_06130002a

I stamped a couple rows of coffee beans on the bottom half of the cup, and adhered several die cut coffee beans randomly across both rows for a little interest. I also used a piece of the strip from the top of the Bright Pumpkin paper which I embellished with several more of those tiny flat-back pearls. I always tell everyone to save those strips and use them on your projects because they coordinate perfectly with either side of the paper… that’s why they’re there! ;)

2017_06130003a

I kept the inside simple, as I usually do, with a stamped sentiment and a couple of those adorable die cut coffee beans. Loving how this turned out!

Here’s to another year

** 7/2/17 DT Favorite at Crafting When We Can! **
** 7/2/17 Winner at A Bit More Time To Craft! **

Hello, my crafty friends! Happy Saturday – here’s to an awesome and crafty weekend! Our June challenge over at Let’s Craft and Create went live on the 5th and I’m excited to share my mid-month DT inspiration project for Challenge #126 – Girls, Girls, Girls! This is my last post for Let’s Craft and Create, and I’ve truly enjoyed my time with this amazing team. Thank you, Mary, for your wonderful leadership and support! We’ll see all you ladies around blogland! <3

You know how I love fancy folds and I’ve created another Z-box card. These are so much fun! I used the amazing Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures stamp set along with the coordinating Balloon Bouquet punch. I also used some new floral papers that I’ve fallen in love with!

2017_02250001a

I leaned toward a shabby chic style for this card, using lots of girly elements like glitter paper, flowers and lace, and distressing all the elements.

2017_02250002a

I used my stitched oval dies along with a new Party Banner die. I created a bouquet of balloons secured with a bow.

2017_02250003a

Here’s a side view showing more sentiments. :)

2017_02250004a

And here’s an overhead view so you can see the awesome construction. Love this fold!

Only Worry in the World

** 6/19/17 Winner at Rubbernecker Stamps Inspiration and Challenge Blog! **

Hi everyone! Happy Friday – hope you have had a great week! Today is my post day on the Dare 2B Artzy blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project using the Flip Flops stamp set, and Margarita Lime, Midnight Blue and Paradise ink, as well as a thin strip of the reverse side of the Chevron paper used on the inside. A green and blue color combo has always been one of my favorites!

This clean and simple card was a breeze to make – I love quick and easy cards. I’m hopeful that my friend will love it as much as I do! I stamped the beach chair in the Margarita Lime ink and the sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink. I adhered the stamped panel to some fun foam for a little dimension and layered it on a blue panel which I adhered to the card base.

2017_02250010a

I colored in the word “Tide” with a Spectrum Noir marker and added a few sequins matching the colors used on the inside.

2017_02250011a

The inside shows off a strip of the reverse side of the Chevron paper, a stamped sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink and flip flops stamped in the Paradise ink. I colored in the polka dots on the flip flops with the same Spectrum Noir marker used on the front and added some tiny dots in the center like the patterned paper. :)

Wishing You Comfort

** 6/15/17 DT Favorite Winner at World Wide Open Design Team Challenge! **
** 6/16/17 Top 3 at Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog! **

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve had a great week! Today is my post day on the Dare 2B Artzy blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project using the Wishing You Comfort stamp set, Wild Orchid Ink, Leaf Background die and a scrap of Artzy Doodles Wild Orchid paper. I created a pretty sympathy card.

Isn’t this leaf background die just gorgeous?! I love purple so I used two contrasting shades for this card. I placed a layer of vellum with tiny flowers between the lighter die cut piece and the darker bottom piece. I stamped the sentiment in white dye ink and added a pretty dotted double-loop bow.

I decorated the inside with a scrap of the Wild Orchid paper and thin strip of dark purple cardstock, and stamped the sentiment in Wild Orchid ink. Sympathy cards aren’t easy for me but I’m really loving how this turned out.

Gadgets Caddy

Hey friends! Happy Friday! Hope you have a fun crafty weekend in store! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Craft for the Craic and I’m stoked to share my GD inspiration project for the June Father’s Day/Masculine but Not a Card challenge! I’ve been playing with my Scan N Cut again, and used the awesome 3-Pocket Caddy cut file from Creations by AR to create this fun little Gadgets Caddy for my hubby’s desk. I’m so tickled with how this turned out! What a great little Father’s Day gift! ;)

2017_05280001a

One amazing thing (among many) is the ability to scan something into the Scan N Cut and then cut it out, which is what I did with the letters spelling ‘gadgets.’ I enlarged the AR Christy font to 58 pts in Word which I printed on cardstock, scanned the sheet and cut the letters out.  I adhered them to the oval which is actually one of the negative-space pieces from the handle! Yep, I use those scraps whenever possible! I added a tiny paperclip and adhered the oval to the front with foam strips. ;)

2017_05280002a

The paper is from the Crafters Companion Just For Men Urban Collection 6×6 paper pad. I inked the edges of all the paper pieces with Walnut Stain distress ink.

2017_05280003a

This caddy has three pockets (partitions) which will be great for holding all the little gadgets on my hubby’s desk. Can’t wait to give it to him! ;)

So thankful

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday – hope you’re having a great week! One more day till Friday, lol! It’s June 1st and time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration card for LTCCB #11 – June Anything Goes! I created a corner fold thank you card that is also clean and simple. This is an interesting fold and I’m trying to learn to create with less dimension which is really tough for me. ;)

1-leslie

I used the absolutely gorgeous GKD Painted Autumn stamp set for the focal image panel which I layered on gold mirror cardstock. I love multi-step stamp sets with large images, as they create gorgeous backgrounds!

2017_01080014a

I stamped the inside sentiment along with some leaf stems on a layered panel. I really love how this turned out!

** 7/1/17 Spotlight Winner at A Perfect time To Craft Open Challenge Blog! **

Hi everyone! I’m back with another post on this fine 1st day of June which marks the middle of the year already… can you believe it?! We have a brand new challenge launching over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #98 – Boyz Rule! We’d love to see your masculine projects this time! Our sponsors this month are Oddball Art Co., DRS Designs and Bugaboo Digi Stamps so come on over and play with us for a chance to win an awesome prize!

I used the amazing Soldiers of America greeting from DRS Designs for my CAS patriotic thank you card. This is a shout-out to all the men in my family who have served in the military – my father, my son, my husband and my brother-in-law. Thank you for your service! I really enjoyed creating this card, as it had meaning.

2017_05280005a

I’ve got the die cutting fever again and have been playing with my Scan N Cut (a lot) since we got situated after our move. I thought these awesome patriotic and square frame cut files would pair perfectly with the DRS Designs greeting!
