sorry for the loss of your furry friend

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! Our new sketch challenges this month are live over at Stick It Down and I’ve popped in this morning to share my Card Team inspiration project! Allie’s Scrap Shop is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month:

March2019 card

I created my first-ever pet sympathy card, and although it’s not something anyone wants to ever go through, I really love how it turned out and would be proud to give it away. Thank you, Laura, for another fantastic sketch!

I used two Paper Smooches stamp sets to create the background following the sketch, stamping in neutral colors with just a pop of red. I layered the panel on red cardstock and added a few sequins in keeping with the sketch. I left the inside blank to write a custom sentiment.

Feb2019 card

OMGosh, what a gorgeous card sketch by our talented Laura Rumble! I created a sympathy card… and I have to admit that I usually shy away from these but the truth is everyone needs them occasionally and it never hurts to have some in our stash.

2018_12230001a

I did a lot of masking to create the flower clusters. I used a simple color scheme to color the flowers and finished the front with a stamped sentiment cut with a (yep, one of my favs) dotted oval die.

I kept the inside simple with just a stamped sentiment on a layered panel.

Thanks again, Laura, for the pretty sketch – I enjoyed creating with it!

TRULY Grateful

Hi everyone! A very happy Monday to you! I’ve popped in this morning to share my first project as a card team member for Stick It Down! I’m absolutely thrilled! Cheeky Studio is our sponsor this month so come on over and play for the chance to win a prize! The card team is showcasing projects today on the blog and this is our super awesome card sketch this month:

Jan 2019 card

I created a pretty thank you card – I don’t ever seem to have enough of those in my stash. This is a simple design that could be easily be reproduced to create a set to give as a gift. Mandi did a great job designing this sketch!

2018_1222001a

I created a top fold card base using my curved matting basics die set. I stamped the woodgrain background and added randomly-placed wood planks and acorns for a little interest. I cut the dark layering panel and the background panel with graduating sizes of dies from the set, then stamped the wheat and cut it with a smaller die, and adhered it to the front. I stamped the sentiment on dark cardstock, heat embossed it and trimmed it down. I cut a slightly wider strip which I layered underneath and adhered them across the center of the card front. To finish the design, I added three metal studs on the bottom right.

I cut panels for the inside using the same curved matting basics die set. I stamped the woodgrain, acorns and wood planks randomly down the left side of the panel and then stamped the sentiment.
