Hero Arts Good-bye and Good Luck tag

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s Sunday and I hope you’re having a fun crafty weekend! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Vintage Travel Digital Kit along with the Hero Arts Pop Pattern Stencil. I created a fun good luck tag in honor of our “Make It Pop” challenge this month (with lots of layers and dimension), and what’s really neat is the tag base is a leftover corrugated package insert that I almost threw away but caught myself when I thought “Oh, I could use that!” I also did some stamping with bubble wrap on the back of the tag along with some stenciling. This was a fun one! So fun, in fact, that I ended up making another one for another design team project, so stay tuned – you’ll see that one in a few days, lol!

2017_12090006a

I printed a vintage car, international postage and two suitcases on ivory cardstock, fussy cut them all and set them aside. I cut the top corners off diagonally to make the rectangular package insert tag-shaped, and then covered it with Postale tissue wrap. I added a strip of torn page from an old paperback novel, and then applied texture crackle paste with a mini dot stencil. When that dried, I spritzed pink and blue India ink over the tag and let the ink run.

2017_12090007a

I watered down some brown acrylic paint and brushed it over the antique car and when it was dry, I adhered it to the tag with foam tape.

2017_12090008a

I adhered the international postage, the pair of suitcases, a pretty Prima flower, some crocheted lace with zipper trim, and then the sentiment. I inked the edges of the tag with Walnut Stain distress ink,  and the final touch was splattered brown acrylic paint mixed with a little water.

2017_12090009a

Here are a couple more angled photos to show the dimension. I’m really loving how this turned out – it’s mixed media but a simple design!

2017_12090011a

And, finally, here is a pic of the back of the tag which features the bubble wrap stamping I mentioned above and stenciling with the Hero Arts Pop Pattern stencil.

Hero Arts WELCOME to the neighborhood

Hi everyone! It’s Saturday and my wish to you is to have a wonderful weekend! We’re (still) waiting for snow in our little town in Colorado, lol! I’m posting today on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share a DT inspiration project using the absolutely adorable Hero Arts Silly Scape City Buildings digital kit. I’m in love – and it has some amazing extras that come with it! I created a fun note card that would be an awesome compliment to some baked goodies taken to a new neighbor!

We’re a little more than a week in with our December Make It Pop challenge over at a2z Scrapbooking and I thought this card would make a great sample, with bright colors and several layers.

2017_12080001a

I printed the cloud background on white cardstock along with three of the building images. I left one building image uncolored, fussy cut it and adhered it to the background piece which I layered on black cardstock. I completely colored the second building image, fussy cut it, and affixed it over top of the black and white image on the background on foam tape.

2017_12080002a

I colored just a few of the buildings in the foreground on the third image, fussy cut them and affixed them on top of the second layer with foam tape. I printed the sentiment on my computer, cut it into a strip and adhered it to the top of the front panel. I left the inside blank to write a custom message. Loving how this turned out – the dimension is so cool!

Hero Arts hello there!

12/31/17 DT Favorite at A Perfect Time To Craft Open Challenge!

Hi everyone! The December Make It Pop challenge is live over on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m super excited to share my DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Color Layering Parrot stamps and dies, and quite a few Hero Arts inks. Not only did I use lots of layers but I used lots of stamps and lots of color!

dec challenge graphic

I have to tell you that this color layering stamp set (and dies) are sold out in the a2z Scrapbooking store. I hate to admit that I messed up and created this project for our challenge this month not realizing they were sold out, but I do have good news – you can special order the stamps and dies at no extra cost when you order your other Hero Arts stamps from a2Z Scrapbooking!

This is probably one of my favorite Hero Arts stamp sets and I was really excited to use it. I created a double fun fold and used just about every stamp in the set. Lots of color and lots of layers. And my all-time favorite color – green. ;)

Here’s a shot of the first fold open from right to left to reveal a sentiment.

Hero Arts Merry Thanks cards (set of 4)

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I’m posting again today on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share a set of four thank you cards I created with the Hero Arts Merry Background Christmas Digital Kit and Hero Arts Say It In Pieces Digital Greetings. Everybody needs ‘thank-you-for-the-awesome-Christmas-gifts’ cards in their stash!

I grabbed four Hero Hues Sea Mixed Folded Cards. I printed the Hero Arts Merry Background four times in block style on white cardstock and then cut the sheet in quarters.

2017_11220014a

I cut a stitched rectangle die cut panel from each quarter of the cardstock and adhered one to each card base. I printed a simple ‘thanks’ sentiment from the Say It In Pieces Digital Greetings set four times, cut them in strips,  layered them on purple cardstock and adhered one to each card front. I cut narrow strips of silver glitter paper and adhered one beneath each sentiment strip.

2017_11220015a

One final shot of the four cards. I’m really loving how these turned out!

Hero Arts Merry Christmas

** 12/6/17 Winner at Word Art Wednesday! **

Hi everyone! Hope those of you in the States had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts A Natural Holiday Digital Kit, and what an amazing array of digital images! OMG, love this kit! I also used the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set for the sentiment inside. Yep, I created another Christmas card… thought I was done last week, but I still have a few more planned! I LOVE this time of year!

2017_11220010a

I started with the tree background from the A Natural Holiday Digital Kit which I resized and recolored to light gray. I overlaid the deer, cardinal and sentiment (more images from the kit), resizing and recoloring each as I added them. I trimmed the panel and layered it on black cardstock, then adhered it to the card base.

2017_11220011a

I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Messages stamp set on a white panel layered on black cardstock. Loving how this turned out, and it was quick and easy!

Hero Arts Joys of the Season

Hello, crafty friends! Happy Thursday! I’m posting today on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share a DT inspiration project, an acetate Christmas card using the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly stamp set and the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly Frame Cuts along with the Hero Arts Acetate Note Cards. I’m pretty happy with my growing stack of Christmas cards – I should be in good shape to have them all mailed by December 1st!

I created a totally clear acetate card several weeks ago and I just couldn’t resist making another one, although this card has diagonal panels of cardstock on which to stamp and layer my holly die cut. This is definitely clean and simple which I’m really loving these days. I embellished the front panel with a single holly leaf and used sparkly red sequins for the berries to add a little dimension and interest.

2017_10100004a

I stamped the front and inside sentiments in Hero Arts Red Royal ink. That’s all there is to it… super simple and really packs a huge punch! Loving how it turned out! :)

Hero Arts HO HO HO

Hello, my crafty friends! It’s my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m excited to share another DT inspiration project (yep, another Christmas card, lol!) – this time using the Hero Arts Jingle All The Way Stamp & Cut and Christmas Messages stamp set! This card was so much fun watching come to life!

The reindeer, sled and all the goodies in the sled were stamped on white cardstock, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and cut with the coordinating dies in the Jingle All The Way Stamp & Cut set. I cut the right edge of the card base off with a stitched tab die to reveal some pretty striped Christmas paper beneath.

2017_11050007a

I dotted the background with a snow marker hit with a heat tool to make the snowflakes, and I tore white cardstock to create the snow drifts. Cute, cute, cute!

2017_11050008a

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Messages stamp set on white cardstock and cut it with a stitched mini scallop rectangle die.

2017_11050009a

And one final look. Hmmmm… wonder who will get this one?! ;)

Hero Arts Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday – hope you’re having a great week! I’m posting on the a2z Scrapbooking blog today and I’m happy to share a DT inspiration project using the amazing Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut and the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set! I created another Christmas card for my growing pile, lol! I really love this time of year!

I cut some green glitter paper with a stitched rectangle die for the background and adhered it on some white fun foam. The gold border on the bottom is the negative space leftover from a scalloped border that I plan to use on another project. I thought the negative space yielded some cool interest.

2017_11050004a

I stamped the ornament from the Hero Arts Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set, embossed it in gold and cut it with the coordinating die. I used a red artist pitt pen to color in the open areas. I stamped the mistletoe and bow (also from the Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set) on white cardstock and cut them with the coordinating dies. Finally, I stamped the sentiment (another stamp from the Holiday Ornaments Stamp & Cut set) on white cardstock, embossed it in gold and cut it with a fishtail sentiment strip die. I attached the ornament with gold cord, adhered the rest of the elements to the background, and then attached the background to the card base.

2017_11050005a

For the inside, I stamped a simple greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages stamp set on a layered panel.

Hero Arts Merry Christmas Wall Hanging

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! Today is my post day on the a2z Scrapbooking blog and I’m super stoked to share a DT inspiration project using the Hero Arts Color Layering Holly stamp set and coordinating Hero Arts Color Layering Holly Frame Cuts. I created a fun and frosty mixed media wall hanging for the holidays. I can’t tell you how much fun this was… I was totally in my element and oblivious to everything around me, lol!

2017_10100007a

I started by brayering red and green acrylic paints onto a 5×5 Gessobord. I then applied texture paste over two different stencils on several areas, splattered black gesso mixed with water over the piece and let dry. I mixed white gesso with a little water and brushed it over the entire piece to mute the colors a bit. Once that was dry, I played with some red and green watercolors, letting some of it run and splattering some of it. I also inked the edges.

2017_10100008a

I stamped the sentiment in black StazOn on vellum, cut flag ends and set it aside. I then stamped and die cut 16 holly leaves, arranged them to form a wreath (staggered in three layers) and adhered them to the Gessobord. I added shiny red sequins for berries and a multi-loop bow with a double loop of cording beneath it and a brad in the center. I rolled up some script paper and adhered the tubes in the center of the wreath for some interest, then affixed the sentiment. I finished the piece by smearing grit paste on a few areas and splattering Copic Opaque mixed with water. I also added some thick cording for a hanger.

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I’m posting on the a2z Scrapbooking blog today and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project – a totally clear acetate card! My first one ever and I’m addicted, lol! I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Gold Fish stamp set and coordinating Hero Arts Color Layering Gold Fish Frame Cuts along with the Hero Arts Acetate Note Cards to create my fun encouragement card.

First of all, acetate is extremely hard to photograph without shadow and glare, but I did the best I could do against a gray background. I stamped two large and two small gold fish and cut them with the coordinating dies. I placed one large and two small gold fish on the front and the other large one on the inside which lines up behind the large one on the front when the card is closed. For every stamped image, I die cut the same shape from white cardstock to place on the back of the acetate to hide the Scor-Tape. I stamped the sentiment and air bubbles in black StazOn ink.

2017_10100001a

Here’s a shot of the front with the card opened up almost all the way.

2017_10100002a

And here’s a shot of the inside. I added White Blizzard Glitter Drops to all the pieces of seaweed for a little shimmer. Really loving how this turned out!
