BOO!

Hi friends – Happy Hump Day! Wasn’t it just Friday, lol? Blink and nearly another week is gone! I had a spare few minutes yesterday afternoon and made another double lower gate fold. I shared one nearly a week ago for a design team project which featured a card within a card. As promised in that post (HERE), I’m back with another version featuring a tag in a pocket. I’m on a short break from my Keep It Simple design team duties but wanted to play with the new Boo To You Collection, so I used papers, stamps and dies for this card along with the KIS Cuts Tags #1 and Mango Ribbon. I sure do LOVE how this turned out – it’s always fun to add extra little elements to bring a fun fold to life, and that’s exactly what I did with the tag!

I cut the card base and pocket from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock along with layering panels from assorted prints in the Boo To You 6×9 Collection Pack. I stamped some images from the Spooky Cute Collection Stamps on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Happy Haunting Outline Dies. I dug through my Halloween embellishment stash and found a spider sequin that I used on one of the die cuts.

I used a tag die from the KIS Cuts Tags #1 Dies which fit perfectly in the pocket. I used Stampin’ Up circle punches to punch a thumb notch into the top of the pocket and layering panel.

I embellished the tag with another print from the Collection Pack, a tiny tag from the same tag die set (which I stamped on in orange ink), a tiny ball chain from my stash, and some Mango ribbon. And, of course, I stamped a fun sentiment from the same collection stamps in black ink.

Hi friends! I hope you are having a beautiful weekend! It’s nice and chilly here, and we are all healthy and happy, so life is good! Affiliate links are used in this post at no cost to you – I really appreciate your support! I’m up on the Prickley Pear Stamps blog today with another fun Halloween card. This latch card features the super adorable Bats stamp set, Bats 2 stamp set and coordinating Bat die. I absolutely love the fold but I’ve only made a few of them over the years. My problem is that my tutorial files are about 6″ thick and there are just too many to choose from, lol! The BOO! die cut is the latch that the circular element slides under to keep the card closed.

I cut the card base and circle die cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock along with layering panels and slightly smaller circle die cuts from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock and coordinating papers from the Halloween 6×6 Cardstock Pad. I stamped the large bat from the Bats 2 stamp set, cut it with the coordinating Bat die (along with one additional bat cut from black cardstock) and adhered them to the circular panel in a layered fashion. I stamped the small bats and BOO sentiment from the Bats stamp set. I added the large BOO! die cut to use as the latch to keep the card closed. I cut the inside panel from another coordinating paper from the Halloween 6×6 Cardstock Pad and layered it on CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment and spider web from the Bats 2 stamp set to complete the card.

And one more look… super happy with this fun card! Absolutely loving both of these stamp sets and coordinating die!

Now, let me side-track you for a minute or three to share my CAS card featuring Classic Crest Solar White cardstock along with Camomile cardstock, Granny Smith Apple Green cardstock, Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock, Pop-Tone Grape Jelly cardstock and Pop-Tone Orange Fizz cardstock. This is a super simple design that came together pretty quickly!

Did you ever have ric rac sewn on your clothes when you were younger?! I sure did – and I still love it! I used several fun dies along with some stamping to create this fun card.

Here is a quick tutorial showing you my process for making this awesome card. I started by cutting a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut ric rac die cuts from Camomile cardstock, Granny Smith Apple Green cardstock, Pop-Tone Grape Jelly cardstock and Pop-Tone Orange Fizz cardstock. I cut four BOO! die cuts from Pop-Tone Black Licorice cardstock and layered them on top of each other for a little dimension. I cut one additional ric rac die cut from Granny Smith Apple Green cardstock to use on the inside.

I adhered the ric rac die cuts to the front of the card base at an angle and then trimmed the edges. I adhered the BOO! layered die cuts in the lower right corner and small gemstones in the Halloween colors above the ric rac die cuts. I stamped and die cut a skull (an after-thought and not shown in the photo above) and popped it up on dimensionals on top of the ric rac die cuts.

For the inside, I adhered the remaining ric rac die cut at the same angle as those on the front, and then stamped the sentiment and the spider in black ink.

BOO!

Hello, friends! It’s Day 4 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop and I’ve stopped in this morning to share another card with you! If you’re a fellow cat lover, be sure to come on over and play – Janis has worked hard getting tons of sponsors so that means there are tons of prizes to be won!

I created a swing easel card featuring a Tim Holtz Crazy Cat with accessories in all the bright Halloween colors of black, purple, green, yellow and orange! SO fun! My inspiration for this card came from a recent Splitcoast Stampers newsletter HERE. Those who know me – even moderately well – know that I love me some fun folds and I’m always looking for new ones to try!

2019_1023001a

I’m in love with the Tim Holtz Crazy Cats stamps and dies right now, so I pulled them back out along with the coordinating Crazy Things stamps and dies, and stamped, colored and die cut my cat along with his hat, broom and pumpkin. I cut six of the BOO! die cuts and layered them for dimension, to keep the easel portion of the card open, and added an orange gemstone to the exclamation point. ;)

2019_1023002a

Here are a couple close-ups. I stamped a simple sentiment on the back of the cat panel and left a spot to sign the card. I included a side shot of the card below so you can see the cool construction. ;)

And here’s one more look… this card folds flat for mailing. How cool is that?!
