faith over fear

Hi friends, happy weekend! The weeks sure do seem to be rolling by quickly these days! I’ve (finally) begun entering challenges again after a year-and-a-half hiatus. Last month one of my cards scored a Top 3 spot over at The Creative Crafters Challenge and I was invited to guest design for an upcoming challenge, so here I am! I’m sharing this motivational card for Challenge #98 and I just love how it turned out! The image is an older rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps and the sentiments are from Stampin’ Up.

I cut the 5-1/4″ square card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White along with a layering panel from a pretty pink gingham in the Pebbles Inc. Basics 6×6 paper pad. I stamped the Whimsy Stamps Daphne image on 80# Solar White first in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with a variety of markers, and then stamped it a second time in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I do this frequently to get a good crisp image.

I added some shimmer to her wings with Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen, cut the image with a My Favorite Stamps Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX die, and added Scrapbook Adhesives Adhesive Sheet to the back. I cut some pink craft foam with the same MFT die and layered it beneath the image panel for a little interest, and adhered the piece to the card front with Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Power Tape. I added a sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink (from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set) and cut with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentimental Silhouettes die.

I cut the inside panel from 80# Solar White, embellished it with a strip of the gingham paper used on the front, and layered it on CutCardStock Pink Tutu cardstock. I stamped the inside sentiment (from the same Stampin’ Up stamp set) on a Solar White scrap and die cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up die.

Hi everyone! A big ol’ Happy Thursday to you! Another week almost gone! I’m up on the CutCardStock blog today with a tutorial for making a motivational mini slimline card featuring Moss Green, Sweet Mint and White cardstock from our new Lessebo line! This line has replaced the Basis cardstock (which was one of my favorites) and it couldn’t be any better… great weight, great colors and just a great cardstock all around. I also pulled out a pretty rubber stamp that I’ve had for a minute and hadn’t gotten around to using yet.

I cut the 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Lessebo Moss Green and a layering panel from Lesseo Sweet Mint cut with a Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Stitched Rope Die. I stamped the Stampendous Mini Sweet Rose Jar directly on the Sweet Mint panel, colored it with alcohol markers and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set in Memento Tuxedo black ink on Sweet Mint and cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouette die. The finishing touch was adding several Eyelet Outlet 4mm purple pearls.

I embellished the inside Lessebo White panel with a frame cut from Sweet Mint using two Kat Scrappiness Mini Slimline Stitched Rope Dies. I stamped another sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Charming Sentiments stamp set on a Lessebo White scrap in Tuxedo Black ink and cut it with the coordinating Stampin’ Up Sentiment Silhouettes die.
