Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Happy Hump Day! Today is my post day on the Simply Crafty SVGs Blog and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project with you, a totally adorable birthday card created with the Simply Crafty SVGs Garden Window Card cut file. OMG, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this… what a fun project! Now I can’t wait to give it to someone special! ;)

I dug into my stash of American Crafts smooth cardstock and pulled out several colors to cut all the pieces from, then put the card together. I love watching Sandy’s videos, and this one was as easy as she portrayed it to be. ;)

I inked the panel on the back for the personal message and signature.

Here’s a view from the top so you can see the awesome construction of this box card. Sorry my angle is a little off, lol!

And one final look… flattened and ready to go into an envelope. I absolutely love how this turned out!

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday and August 1st! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog and I’m thrilled to share my DT inspiration project for LTSCB #124 – Shape Shift! We’d love to see your shaped project! We’re being sponsored this month by The Paper Shelter so come on over and play for your chance to win a prize! I used the amazing Vintage Tea Cups image and paper for my birthday card, as well as a pretty shaped card die set.

I printed the background paper and die cut the layer to go on top of a cardstock layer, and then adhered the panel to the front of the card base. I printed the tea cups several times, fussy cut two and layered them together, reserving the last two for the butterfly, rose and leaf (fussy-cut partial images layered on whole images for dimension). I used some wire for the butterfly antennae. I embellished the cups with sparkle overlay marker and white Gelly Roll pen to give them a slightly more vintage-y look. I printed digital alphabet letters on vellum for the sentiment and adhered the strip across the bottom.

I printed the inside sentiment on the computer and die cut the layer to go on top of a cardstock layer, just as I did on the front, and then adhered the panel to the inside of the shaped card base.

And one more look from an angle so you can see the dimension. This really is a beautiful card in real life. The colors are so vibrant – love The Paper Shelter images and papers!

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! I’m back on the Dare 2B Artzy blog as a guest designer this month and it’s my day to share an inspiration project, a fun CAS birthday card using the Birthday Balloons stamp set with coordinating Balloon die that comes with the stamp set. I’m having a blast being back as a guestie for the month of October!

This was probably one of the most fun cards I’ve made in a while. It’s super simple and really packs a big punch! As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been creating more clean and simple cards which have always been a challenge for me. I stamped the balloon cluster, strings and stars on the front of the card base. Can you believe it… yes, this is almost a one-layer card! LOL! I then stamped three individual balloons in different colors on a smaller piece of cardstock and cut each of them with the balloon die.

I colored the balloons  and the stars with a Crystal Clear Sparkle overlay marker which gave them a really pretty shimmer. I finished the front of the card with a few sequins. Yes, I am a sequin freak too, lol! And didn’t this turn out just darling?!

I stamped the sentiment and a few stars on the inside, and layered the panel on green cardstock.
