hello sunshine

Hey everybody, Happy Weekend! I hope you’re having a good one! My friend, Vicki, owner of the Stamped Smiles blog, posted a super cute card recently that she created for the January ‘Use Your Stash’ challenge over at Danni Bindel’s This & That With Danni’s Dreams Facebook Group. I totally LOVE the idea of not buying new craft supplies and simply using what we have, so I decided to join in this challenge. It’s been well over six months since I’ve entered any challenges with my projects and I’d really like to get back into it if I can find the time. The prompts for Danni’s January challenge include gnomes, embossing folders, border dies/punches, hearts, and 12×12 papers. I dug into my stash and came up with all the items, and I love how this turned out!

Using the Crafters Companion Die’sire Ruth Create-A-Card Dies, I cut the card base from CutCardStock Astrobright Lunar Blue along with a layering panel from CutCardStock Stardream Metallic Eris. I spritzed the layering panel with Ranger Adirondack Stream Color Wash. When the panel dried, I cut it with a smaller die from the Ruth Create-A-Card die set, lightly spritzed plain water in the Ranger Distress Sprayer, and ran it through the Big Shot in the Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder. I lightly spritzed it with a homemade mix of Let’s Resin Teal Chameleon Powder and water in a Ranger Mini Mister. When that dried, I splattered Imagine Crafts Silver Pico Embellishment mixed with a little water over it with a fan brush.

I love Cottage Cutz dies because all the sets I have cut the pieces in one pass. Using the Flower Power Tomte Die, I cut the gnome and accessories from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock and colored them with Copic Ciao alcohol markers. I used the Catherine Pooler Love Connections dies to cut the ring of hearts from dark turquoise Colorbok Bright Smooth 12×12 paper. I then assembled the gnome and accessories and adhered everything to the card front. I stamped the sentiment from the Keep It Simple Simply Spring Collection Stamps in Versafine Onyx Black ink on a Solar White scrap and cut it with the coordinating Simply Spring Outline Dies. The finishing touch was adding a few Freckled Fawn Enamel Dots.

I cut the inside panel from the same size Ruth Create-A-Card Die used for the front panel and embellished it with a floral print from the Doodlebug Design Floral-Graph Rainbow Petite Prints double-sided paper pad and a leftover strip of the dark turquoise Colorbok 12×12 paper. It’s hard to see in the photo but I used the My Favorite Things Homespun Stitched Lines Die (which is a border die) across the dark turquoise strip. I stamped another sentiment from the Keep It Simple Simply Spring Collection Stamps in black ink, which completed the card.

Hi friends, happy weekend! I’m delighted to share a Keep It Simple DT inspiration project with you today! Yesterday was launch day for our new Simply Spring Collection and OMGoodness it’s gorgeous! I’ve created a 3D window card showcasing several of the prints in the 12×12 Collection Pack along with the 6×8 Collection Stamps and coordinating Outline Dies. My inspiration for this awesome fold came from Lisa Curcio’s blog. This is the second one I’ve made and I definitely see more of them in my future – it’s so fun and really packs a punch with these pretty papers and stamps!

I cut the card base from CutCardStock Basis Black cardstock along with layering panels from prints in the Simply Spring 12×12 Collection Pack. I used the Back To Basics Stitched Ovals Nested Dies to cut the aperture into the curved panel on the front and a slightly smaller one to cut the oval inside the aperture. I stamped the image and sentiment on the oval using stamps in the Simply Spring 6×8 Collection Stamps, colored them with alcohol markers, and cut them with the coordinating Outline Dies.

I cut a back signature panel from CutCardStock Cougar Smooth White and added a signature and image (colored with alcohol markers) which I stamped from the 6×8 Collection Stamps and cut with the coordinating Outline Dies.

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a good weekend – it sure seemed to go by fast. It’s time for another fun challenge over at Stinkin’ Inkers and I’m excited to share my DT inspiration project for the Some Like It Hot challenge! We’d love to see you create a project related to Summer. I created a cute little beach scene which will probably end up in my ‘beach fiend’ friend Cindy’s hands, lol!

2019_0728001a

I stamped a sun in the sky, then added water with blue crinkle paper – and it looks like real water with ripples! Score! I created sand mounds with torn tan cardstock and then added stamped seashells, a bird and a crab. Super cute Paper Smooches stamp sets!

2019_0728002a

I stamped the sentiment on the inside panel and then embellished it with a leftover strip of the blue crinkle paper and layered the panel on tan cardstock.

And one more look… SO stinkin’ cute! Love, love, love!

hello Sunshine

Hello, my crafty friends! Hope you’re having a good week so far! This month’s Anything Goes With Dies Challenge! I’m happy to share another cat card in my ‘awesome’ series! These are right up my alley – hubby and I have eight feline fur babies and we couldn’t love them more!

This CAS design is so playful and fun, and super easy to mass produce to create a set of six or eight to give as a gift. So stay tuned… you’ll be seeing a few more in different colors AND a gift box!

2018_1229005a

I cut a strip of striped paper and adhered it to the card base, rounded both lower corners and then ran it through the Big Shot with a criss-cross border die. I used my new favorite set of cat dies to cut some kitties from different colors of cardstock and placed them on the front of the card, and then stamped the sentiment.

2018_1229006a

I decorated the inside with a strip of the striped paper and another kitty die cut, and then stamped the sentiment.

2018_1229007a

One more look… super happy with this design. Sure do love the kitties!
