Watercolor Poppies

Hi everyone! Happy first day of May! Our May challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #22 – May Anything Goes! I got out some Rubbernecker stamps and created a card featuring watercolor stamping on photo paper! OMG, these stamps are amazing! Lots of people can watercolor beautifully… but not me… so I rely on these stamps, lol!

2017_07130030a

Super fun and easy card. I chose chocolate brown for the card base and layered white and cherry red cardstock panels on it. I die cut some angled stitched border elements on the red panel before adhering them. I stamped the poppies in Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick distress ink and the stems in Walnut Stain and Espresso Truffle ink on the photo paper, and then cut it with a slightly angled stitched oval die. I affixed the panel to the card front on red foam and added White Gloss Crystal Drops and a tiny red seam ribbon bow.

I decorated the inside with leftover strips of the red and chocolate brown cardstock, then stamped the adorable Winnie the Pooh quote. I am absolutely smitten with this, lol!

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello, my crafty peeps! Can you believe it’s the first of April already?! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m proud to share my DT inspiration for LTCCB #21 – April Anything Goes! I created a pretty sympathy card in a yellow and purple color combo. Sympathy cards are not easy to create but we always need to have a few in our stash.

2017_07280008a

Patterned paper and stamps are from Dare 2B Artzy. Seam binding ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Image colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I added several loops of white quilting thread behind the bow for a little interest, along with a few tiny clear rhinestones.

2017_07280009a

I kept the inside fairly simple with just a stamped image on a panel layered on purple cardstock.

Relax… unwind note cards (set of 8 )

Hi everyone! You know what happens on the 1st… I have a gazillion posts for you! This month’s challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog is live this morning and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for  LTCCB #20 – March Anything Goes! I created a fun set of eight note cards, all featuring a pair of flip flops in the sand. I stamped four in teal ink and four in green ink, and embellished each with a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

2017_07280014a2017_07280015a

These were so easy and fun. I used Stampin’ Up premade Crumb Cake Note Cards and Envelopes, so all I needed to do was stamp the flip flops on white cardstock and cut them with the coordinating die, and stamp the sentiment on the front. The stamps and inks are from Dare 2B Artzy. I created a sand line with a Paper Smooches Stitched Border die. I left the insides blank as they are note cards.

2017_07280016a

One more view with the envelopes which feature a stamped pair of flip flops in matching ink. :)

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi everyone! It’s the first day of the month so that means a few posts this morning! A new challenge has launched over at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #19 – February Anything Goes! I created a Valentine in a pink and black color combo, and it’s a Double Z Fold! You know how I love my fancy folds, lol!

2017_07280002a

This was fun, and despite the complex look, it was pretty simple. Half the fun was picking out the coordinating papers! The stamps, dies and papers are all from Stampin’ Up.

2017_07280001a

I stamped the valentine sentiment on the large center panel, and embellished it with Carnation Pink Crystal Drops and a die cut arrow.

2017_07280003a

The hearts on the front are die cuts attached with tiny staples.

2017_07280004a

And here’s an overhead view so you can see the cool construction. I’m loving how this turned out!

Big Flower Sandal

** 1/31/18 DT Favorite Winner at Classic Design Team Open Challenge! **

Hello, my crafty peeps! I’m back again this morning with a post for our new challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog. I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #18 – January Anything Goes. I created another fun sandal for my paper shoe collection using the gorgeous Orange Plaid and Owls & Flowers papers from Dare 2B Artzy. Love, love, love these papers!

2017_07290001a

I cut several large flowers from the 12 x 12 paper and layered different pieces of them for dimension. I added some silver seed beads to the center of the flower.

2017_07290002a

I just can’t get enough of these paper sandals – they are so stinkin’ cute!

2017_07290003a

And of course a sandal needs to have to have a ‘real’ sole, lol!

Thinking of you at Christmas

** 12/8/17 Top 5 at QKR Stampede! **

Hi everyone! It’s a very fine Friday and I hope you’ve had a great week! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #17 – December Anything Goes! Come on over and play with us – we’d love to see what you’re working on!

I created a card using teal and purple – one of my favorite color combos. The front and inside sentiments are stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink. OMG… I’m in love with that ink! The ornament tops are die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock. Although this card is slightly different, it’s a CASE of a previous project I made last year. I really loved my original design and these dies are magnificent! If you’re interested, you can see the other project HERE.

2017_04300001a

Using the DTP method, I inked the die cuts with Island Indigo and Sugarplum ink, then covered them in Versamark and heat embossed them with Judi-Kins Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. The sparkle is gorgeous IRL – wish it showed up in the pics!

2017_04300002a

I kept the inside simple with just a stamped sentiment on a layered panel.

Wishing you holiday cheer

Hello, crafty peeps! I’m just sitting here shaking my head at how fast this year is passing by! My mom always used to say ‘the older you get the faster the time flies.’ She sure was right. A new challenge has launched this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m happy to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #16 – November Anything Goes! I love a traditional Christmas color palette!

2017_04300010a

I used Stampin’ Up stamps, ink, cardstock and papers for this project. I cut a couple narrow strips from scraps of the green and red diagonal striped paper and adhered them together in a ‘V’ fashion to coordinate with the Washi tape stamp I used on the inside. I adhered a few circle die cuts on the center line and then stamped the focal image with a few random stars that I colored with clear Wink of Stella.

2017_04300011a

I kept the inside fairly simple with the stamped Washi tape and the sentiment. Really love how this turned out!

Snowman Coasters (set of 4)

** 10/31/17 Best Technique Winner at Classic Design Team Open Challenge! **

Hello, my crafty friends! Here’s to hoping you have a great week coming up and the weather is beginning to feel nice where you are! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m super stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #15 – October Anything Goes! I created an adorable set of snowman coasters and cannot tell you how much fun I had creating them! It’s been a couple years since I’ve stamped any coasters so I figured it time to pull out my stash of pulpboard blanks and have some inky fun!

I stamped on Blockheads round coaster blanks with a set of Blockheads stamps, colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers and heat set them (a couple times) with my heat tool.

2017_05280001a

These really are easy to make and hold up well to cold or hot beverages. If the cold beverage sweats, the ink won’t run because it has been heat set… just let the coaster dry. If allowed to get wet, though, they won’t last nearly as long as they will if you keep ’em dry! ;)

2017_05280002a

These are so stinkin’ cute and don’t require a long list of supplies to make! Love, love, love how these turned out! So much fun and such a neat little gift idea!

Make Today Amazing

Hi everyone! I’m baaaaack! The first of the month always means a few posts from me, so grabba cuppa and chill out with me for a bit, lol! A new challenge is live this morning over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #14 – September Anything Goes! I created a fun box card using a fairly minimal supply list. I love it when that happens! And how stinkin’ cute is this?!

1-Leslie

Seems I can’t get enough of my Scan N Cut over the past several months and I’m making all kinds of fun projects. Because I’ve bought a gazillion cut files. My hubby thinks I’m nuts, lol! I’m absolutely smitten with this cut file from SVG Cuts!

2017_06070015a

It doesn’t get any easier than this – a couple pieces of cardstock and a couple pieces of coordinating patterned paper. I cut the flowers from white cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. The centers were cut from a scrap of Glitter Silk cardstock.

2017_06070016a

The back of the card has a cut-out that reveals a stamped sentiment. Love, love, love!

2017_06070017a

Here’s a shot of the card with it’s matching envelope, also included in the cut file.

2017_06070018a

And a final shot showing that it folds flat for mailing! I see a few more of these in my future, lol!

** 8/16/17 Winner at A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge! **

Hello crafty peeps! Happy Tuesday and August 1st! Can you believe it?! It won’t be long until we start seeing Christmas decorations in the stores and commercials on TV, lol! It’s time for another fun challenge over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog and I’m stoked to share my DT inspiration project for LTCCB #13 – August Anything Goes! I created a gorgeous wedding gift card holder using Stampin’ Up! Tag Talk and For The New Two stamp sets. This is my basic go-to gift card holder design – I’ve been making these for years and I love them – the possibilities for embellishing are endless! ;) I dry embossed the pearl metallic cardstock which I layered on gold mirror cardstock. The ‘medallion’ is heat embossed in gold and layered on punched gold mirror and ivory circles.

2017_04090009a

I heat embossed a simple wedding sentiment in gold and added a small magnet closure.
