Good Vibes Only

Hey everybody, a very happy Thursday to you! I hope you’re having a great week. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve re-joined the ScrapbookingStore design team! I was gone less than a year and really missed playing with their monthly kits. With Ed’s most recent (additional) cancer diagnoses, I stepped away from one of my teams and considered stepping away from one other. I soon realized that I need to remain committed to my crafting and not alienate myself, and this gig was already in the works, so here I am – back at it doing what I love!

Now check out this cool inspiration project created with the September 2025 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. My inspiration for this double lower gate fold came from Lisa’s blog and features a card within a card! On this version, the short flap opens from right to left and the longer flap opens from left to right to reveal a small top-folding card with a sentiment inside. Lisa’s video is HERE but there are A LOT of videos on YouTube for this particular fold and I think they are all pretty much the same. You’ll love how easy it is!

I cut the card base and small inside card from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock along with layering panels from an assortment of prints in the Carta Bella At Home Collection Kit.

To embellish this card, I used stickers from the sticker sheet along with die cuts from the Carta Bella At Home Frames & Tags and Rosie’s Studio Fanciful Gemstones (both from the upgrades).

I cut the inside sentiment panel from Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a leftover strip of the patterned paper used on the long flap, and added a sentiment from the die cuts. Love how this turned out!

Acorn Lane cards (set of 8)

Hi friends, Happy Fri-YAY! Fridays used to be super fun when I still working, but since retiring several years ago, every day is like Friday, lol! And that’s certainly not a bad thing! I’m thrilled to share my last ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’d like to thank this amazing company for having me along for the last several years. A lot of care goes into curating these kits each month and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. One of the upgrades in this month’s kit is the Acorn Lane Card Kit by Simple Stories, so I made the set of eight Fall-themed cards, changing up a few random things to make them unique.

The absolute most fun thing about these Simple Stories card kits is that the card bases, papers, die cuts and chipboard are all included… all you need is adhesive. A card kit like this would be such a fun gift to give to the budding cardmaker in your life! Here are shots of the individual cards – they are all blank inside so I plan to donate them to Bring Smiles To Seniors! <3

Incredibly Grateful

Howdy peeps! Here’s to a terrific Thursday – I hope it’s not too cold yet where you are. I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I came across a multi panel pop out card HERE on Lisa Curcio’s blog which I’ve never seen before, so of course I HAD to try it… and I’m so glad I did – it’s a fun one! It’s 5×7 which is larger than I typically make, so I reworked the measurements and came up with an A2 size for another design team that I’ll share soon, so stay tuned. ;) But for now, this is the 5×7 version made according to Lisa’s video.

I cut the card base, belly band and all the pop out elements from CutCardStock Lessebo Coffee Bean cardstock, along with layering panels from CutCardStock Basis Natural and coordinating prints in the collection. The focal image on the front is a trimmed and layered journaling card from the paper pack attached to the belly band. I embellished the front (beneath the belly band) and two of the inside panels with stickers from the sticker sheet in the paper pack.

I cut the back panel from Basis Natural and embellished it with a leftover plaid print used on the inside of the card. I added a sticker for the sentiment, which completed the card.

Blessed and Grateful

Hey everybody, Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a great week! I’m delighted to share another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I made a shutter card using the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card dies. I’ve made several shutter cards over the years by handcutting the pieces (before owning the dies) and the dies are so much easier. The handwritten notes in my tutorial folder are not shareable (LOL) but I did run across a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial HERE if you’re interested in looking, which is pretty darn close to my handwritten instructions.

Using the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card dies, I cut the card base and other pieces from Solar White cardstock, along with the belly band and layering panels from coordinating prints in the collection. I created a belly band element using the circle die cut from the inside panel and a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles die. I embellished it and the card front and inside with stickers from the sticker sheet in the paper pack and the sheet of leaf stickers in the upgrades. I used the set of stamps in the upgrades to stamp a sentiment in Catherine Pooler Icing on the Cake ink on the belly band element. The finishing touch was adding several iridescent gemstones for a little bling.

I cut the back panel from Solar White cardstock and embellished it with a strip of plaid paper used on the front flaps, along with some stickers from the sticker sheet and the upgrades. I stamped another sentiment from the stamp set in the upgrades in brown ink.

Farm Fresh Pumpkins

Hi friends! I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the November 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. It’s been a minute since I created a sidewalk cafe sign card and I thought the papers and stickers in this month’s kit were perfect for this card! Despite it’s complex look, this card is really pretty simple, and it folds flat for mailing.

I cut the card base and box from CutCardStock Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock. The card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The box is 1-1/4″ x 6-1/2″, scored at 1/2″, 1-1/4″, 5-1/4″ and 6″. The strip for the inside of the box is 1-1/8″ x 4-3/4″, scored at 3/8″ and 4-3/8″. The decorative strip for the box front is 1-1/8″ x 3-7/8″, cut from patterned paper.

To make the ‘legs’ for the cafe sign, close the card base and measure 1″ inward from the left edge. Cut upward 1-1/2″, across for a length of 2-1/4″, and then back down 1-1/2″. Remove the pieces and discard. Note: You can cut each half of the card base separately if you don’t want to cut through two layers of cardstock.

The background pieces for the front and back are both 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″, cut from patterned paper. Measure 7/8″ inward from the left edge and cut upward 1-1/2″. Cut across for a length of 2-3/8″ and then back down 1-1/2″. Do this for both pieces.

I trimmed a journaling card in the paper pack to use as the focal image. I chose several floral cluster stickers, adhered them to Solar White cardstock scraps, and trimmed around the stickers. I adhered one piece to the strip inside the box and the other piece directly on the background at the bottom of the focal image, both on black foam strips. The finishing touch was adding some pumpkin stickers to the outside of the box.

The inside panel is 3-3/4″ x 4″, cut from Solar White cardstock and embellished with strips of paper in the collection. I added a sentiment sticker along with floral and pumpkin stickers, which completed the card.

Halloween mini slimline

Howdy, peeps! Happy Thursday! I have another ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share today that I created with the October 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’m thoroughly enjoying all the fun papers and stickers in this month’s collection as well as all the other elements in the upgrades. What an awesome kit! I always love a mini slimline, and this one with an acetate front is super easy and really packs a punch. Although I have to admit that acetate is NOT easy to photograph, lol!

I make my mini slimline cards 3-1/2″ x 6″ which is a legit size to mail through the post office without having to put the card inside a larger envelope. So this card base is 7″ x 6″, scored at 3-1/2″ on the long side, cut from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black cardstock. Next, I cut a piece of clear acetate at 4″ x 6″, scored at 1/2″ on the short side. Finally, I cut a layering panel from a patterned paper in the kit at 3-1/2″ x 6″. I embellished the acetate front with a Halloween banner sticker from the sticker sheet along with several pumpkin stickers and a cat sticker from the upgrades. I added a strip of patterned paper across the bottom for the pumpkins to sit on.

Since the inside panel is a black print, I added an 80# Solar White cardstock signature panel to the back which I embellished with patterned paper strips, a fussy cut sentiment (from a journaling card in the kit) and a pumpkin sticker from the upgrades.

Boo Crew fun fold

Hey everybody, happy Wednesday! I hope your week is bouncing along nicely! I’m back today with another fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project created with the October 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I seem to be making more Halloween cards over the past few years. I totally love all the coordinating items in this month’s kit – they make some pretty awesome projects. I came up with a combination Joy fold and Z-fold way back in June 2016 (posted on my original blog HERE) for a birthday card for Ed. Then, a little over three years later, I made a Christmas version (turned in vertical orientation) HERE if you’re interested in looking. So I dug out those instructions to make this Halloween version and I love how it turned out!

I cut the card base and pieces from CutCardStock Lessebo Pitch Black along with layering panels from Lessebo Brick Orange cardstock and four coordinating prints in the collection. I used stickers from both the collection and the upgrades to decorate each section.

I created a little scene on the inside of the folded panel using stickers, leaving room to sign. I included an overhead shot so you can see the construction. I love this fold and I hope it won’t be another five years before I make my next one, lol!

EEK!

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday – the weeks sure are flying by! I have a fun ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today created with the awesome October 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. The papers and coordinating spooky elements in this collection are some of the best! I’ve had handwritten instructions for a triple easel card in my arsenal for quite some time and decided it was (finally) time to make one. So fun, and I sure love how it turned out!

I cut the three easel card bases from CutCardStock Lessebo Amethyst along with layering panels from Lessebo Pitch Black and two purple coordinating prints in this month’s kit. I embellished each easel with papers and stickers from the collection, stickers from two of the upgrades, and gemstones from my stash. I created a ‘stopper’ on the front easel with a Keep It Simple Crafty Girls button and a tiny bow tied from Doodlebug Design Lily White Doodle Twine.

Here’s a shot of the card folded up flat, ready to mail. I love it!

Mini Handbag Favor Boxes

Howdy peeps! I hope everyone is healthy and enjoying some beautiful Fall-ish weather! I have a super adorable ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the September 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing with the fun papers and elements in this collection. These mini handbag favor/treat boxes each feature double-sided paper from the collection and a clear sticker from the upgrades. I photographed these with several mini Hershey bars but other kinds of candy or even jewelry or rolled up money could be put in them. And think about all the different occasions they could be used for… the sky is the limit! I saw these cuties on Pinterest (tracked down the video HERE ) and knew I wanted to make some. I did make the flap closure on mine a little different than Trish did.

I picked out two coordinating patterned papers from the collection for each favor box – one for the base and one for the flap. I used Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies and Stitched Ovals Nested Dies for the flaps and added clear stickers from the upgrades. I used velcro circles for the closures and embellished the base of the straps with Keep It Simple Back To Basics Rose and Lemon Enamel Dots. How stinkin’ cute!

Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day and the weather is cooling off at least a little bit where you are. The weather has been absolutely beautiful out here in southwestern Colorado! I have another awesome ScrapbookingStore DT inspiration project to share with you today, created with the September 2024 Scrapbook Kit with Upgrades. I’m really enjoying the bright fun papers in this collection. I created a shadowbox card and despite it’s complex look, it is really fairly simple and sure packs a punch. It features papers and stickers from the collection along with two of the three items in the upgrades. Although I made a few changes, my inspiration came from THIS Splitcoast Stampers tutorial.

I cut the shadowbox card base and front flap from CutCardStock Basis Blue cardstock. Next, I cut layering panels for the front and inside from coordinating papers in the collection and cut an oval aperture into the front flap using a Spellbinders Classic Ovals die. I embellished the front flap and inside of the shadowbox with stickers from the sticker sheet. I added Keep It Simple Back To Basics Ruby and Lemon Enamel Dots to the centers of the flowers. I also added a Velcro circle to keep the flap closed.

Here is a shot of the inside of the shadowbox as well as a back shot. I cut a frame for the shadowbox and added a signature panel to the back which I embellished with a leftover paper strip and clear sticker and rub-on from the upgrades.
