Hi friends, happy Friday to you – I hope you’ve had a great week with some nice-ish weather! I’m delighted to share a Brutus Monroe DT inspiration project today featuring the super cute That’s What Friends Are Spore stamps and dies which I paired with our Not Your Mamas and Aubergine cardstock and Plaid Petals paper. I’m gathering ideas for some DIY Christmas gifts to tuck into Christmas cards, and thought this easel style post-it note holder would be a fun one. It’s such an easy project (with an adorable pun) that entails simple layering, stamping and die cutting, and I’ll share the instructions below.
Cut the easel style base from heavyweight white cardstock at 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ and score it at 4-1/4″ and 6-3/8″. Cut the easel panel at 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. Fold on the score lines and burnish with a bone folder. Cut cardstock layering panels at 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ for the easel panel and 2″ x 3-1/8″ for the middle section of the base (on the back) between the score lines. Cut patterned paper at 3″ x 4″ for the easel panel and 1-7/8″ x 3″ for the middle section of the base. Adhere the easel panel to the base and decorate it as desired.
I used the That’s What Friends Are Spore stamp set, stamped in Raven ink, and colored with alcohol markers. I cut the image with the coordinating That’s What Friends Are Spore die set and a adhered it to the easel panel. I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) directly on the panel in Raven ink.
Here is an angled shot and one with the holder closed flat for mailing. So easy and can be tailored for any theme, holiday or occasion!
